Product Information

The Stepped Dim Microwave Movement Sensor is a multi-function sensor that is designed to detect movement using microwave technology. It is fitted with a stepped dim feature that allows for customizable dimming levels based on the amount of movement detected. The sensor comes with the following specifications:

  • DC Input Voltage: The voltage required to power the sensor.
  • Rated Voltage: The optimal voltage for the sensor to operate.
  • Stand-by Power Efficiency: The amount of power the sensor consumes when not in use.
  • Operating Frequency: The frequency at which the sensor operates.
  • Transmitting Power: The strength of the microwave signal transmitted by the sensor.
  • Hold Time: The amount of time the sensor will keep the lights on after detecting movement.
  • Stand-by DIM Level: The dimming level of the lights when the sensor is in stand-by mode.
  • Stand-by Period: The duration of time the sensor remains in stand-by mode before shutting off completely.
  • Detection Area: The area within which the sensor can detect movement.
  • Daylight Sensor: A feature that allows the sensor to detect ambient light levels and adjust the dimming level accordingly.
  • Detecting Radius: The maximum distance from which the sensor can detect movement.
  • Mounting Height: The optimal height at which the sensor should be mounted for best performance.
  • Detecting Angle: The angle within which the sensor can detect movement.
  • Operating Temperature: The temperature range within which the sensor can operate effectively.

Product Usage Instructions

Follow the below instructions to properly use the Stepped Dim Microwave Movement Sensor:

  1. Ensure that the sensor is properly installed and connected to a power source.
  2. Adjust the stand-by DIM level to the desired dimming level for when the sensor is in stand-by mode.
  3. Set the hold time to the desired duration for how long the lights should remain on after detecting movement.
  4. Adjust the detecting radius and angle to ensure that the sensor is detecting movement within the desired area.
  5. Activate the daylight sensor feature if desired to allow the sensor to adjust dimming levels based on ambient light levels.
  6. Ensure that the operating temperature is within the specified range for best performance.
  7. Test the sensor to ensure that it is properly detecting movement and adjusting dimming levels as desired.

Layout

Plan the desired layout of these fittings carefully, ensuring the cables will reach the distances between each light fitting. Avoid locating any cables in positions that would cause a hazard. Position cables and junction boxes (not supplied) away from areas where they may be at risk from being cut, trapped or damaged. The mains supply cable must have a minimum cross section area of 1.0mm2. Cables must be protected using suitable conduit or plastic trunking. The products can be wall or ceiling mounted. If wall mounting ensure that the power supply is at the bottom

Installation

Existing fittings must be completely removed before installation of a new product. Before removing the existing fitting, carefully note the position of each set of wires. Note that the switch is turned off before installation. The ceiling surface must be flat and smooth to ensure a good fit. Ensure that the screws and cable entry points are sealed to maintain the IP rating of the product.

  • Twist and remove the lamp cover from the product, keep safe for refitting later.
  • Turn the clip to loose the LED tray in the rear casing.
  • Using the rear casing as a template mark the position to drill out the fixing holes. Take care to avoid damaging any concealed wiring and pipes.
  • Fix the rear casing into the position using the installation plugs and screws
  • Pull the cable through the cable entry hole and seal to maintain the IP rating and wire as detailed Wiring Diagram.
  • Unscrewed the battery box cover and then connect the battery DC connector together before commissioning
  • Refit the LED tray back into the rear casing and lock the clip.
  • Twist the lamp cover back onto the product and lock in place.
  • Replace fuse or circuit breaker and switch on. Your light is now ready for use.

The wattage is changeable between 18/14/9W using the wattage switch on the driver before installation. The colour is changeable between 3000/4000/6000K using the CCT switch on the driver before installation.

Choose your preferred wattage and colour before installing by wattage switch or CCT switch on the driver.

Note : Befeore you change the wattage or colour, please turn off the power switch for safety.

FUNCTION

saxby-lighting-95544-HeroPro-CCT-Step-Dimming-Emergency-
FIG-5

  • The light keeps off during daytime even when movement is detected. (Ambient lux level is above preset daylight threshold)
  • With movement and insufficient ambient lux level, the light is triggered on 100% by the detector
  • If there is no more movement, the light dims to stand-by dimming level after hold-time.
  • The light turns off automatically after stand-by time

DIP SWITCH SETTING

  1. Sensitivity
Sensitivity can be adjusted by selecting the combination on the DIP switches for different applications.

  2. Hold-time
Hold-time refers to the time period that the light remains 100% on if no more movement is detected.

  3. Daylight threshold
Different daylight threshold can be preset on DIP switches. Light will always turn on upon movement if daylight sensor is disabled.

  4. Stand-by time
This is the time period that the light remains at a low level before it is completely turned off.

  5. Stand-by dimming level
Light can be dimmed to different levels after hold-time.
