Description of button
Power button
Short press the button, and then the “Power off”/”Restart” option will show up
in the pop-up window and the countdown will begin. Short press the button
again to power off the device.
Volume + and volume – buttons

Notes
Power supply: 2 * AAA battery
When a user fails to control the system with the remote controller and pair
the remote controller, the user may connect a mouse to the “USB-A” port, open
“Settings” – “Bluetooth” – “Paired Devices” to delete the paired remote
controller, and then long press the pairing button on the remote controller.
Short press the mouse mode (cursor button icon) in the upper right corner of
the remote controller, and then a small arrow cursor (small arrow icon) will
appear on the screen. Move the remote controller and press the “OK” button to
control.
When the mouse mode is on, the direction buttons and the “power” button on the
remote controller will be disabled. The user should exit the mouse mode before
using [Standby] and [Power off] functions.
Instructions for the Host Mode
Preparations
a) Use the power cord to connect the Meeting Ultra USB-C power port and the
power adapter, or use the network cable to connect the Meeting Ultra Ethernet
port and a PoE router or switch.
Notes To project the screen onto the TV/monitor, use the HDMI cable to connect
the Meeting Ultra HDMI OUT port and the TV/monitor (HDMI cable is not
provided).
Power-on
Meeting Ultra will automatically turn on when connected to the power adapter.
Remote controller pairing
a) Long press the “OK” and “Volume -” buttons on the remote controller for
about 5 s until the indicator lamp flashes.
b) When paired, the remote controller’ indicator lamp will turn off.
Notes
After the first successful pairing, every time the user press any button on
the remote controller, the remote controller will be automatically paired if
the device is on.
Networking
Wired network: Connect the network cable to the device’s Ethernet port,
and then configure wired network information, such as DHCP, static IP, and
network proxy, in “System Initial Boot” or “Settings”.
Wireless network: Configure and connect the wireless network in “System
Initial Boot” or “Settings”, such as DHCP, static IP, network proxy, etc.
Start the conference
a) Download and install a video conference software (Tencent Meeting, Ding
Talk, Skype, Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, etc.) from the app store (icon)
b) Go to the home, open the video conference software, and start a remote
conference.
Power-off
Short press the “power” button on the device or the remote controller (icon), and then the “Power off”/”Restart” option will show up in the pop-up window and the countdown will begin. Short press the “power” button or the “OK” button on the remote controller to power off the device.
Local video recording
Meeting Ultra will be used as a device to record local conference, and the
recorded file will be saved to the Micro SD card.
a) Open the “Camera Tool” application.
b) Press the “Record” button on the screen, or short press the “Rec” button on
the remote controller or long press the “Mute” button on the device for 3 s to
start recording.
c) Repeat the same operation to stop video recording.
Notes
To record a web conference, the user may use the recording function provided
by the conference software.
The user should exit the conference software before using the local recording
function.
The user should insert a Micro SD card (in FAT32 or exeats format up to 256
GB) before using the recording function.
The user may only switch the resolution when the recording is stopped.
Send conference link
a) Enable the projection function in “Settings” – “Projection”.
b) Kandao Meeting Ultra and the computer (Mac/Windows system) must be on the
same LAN.
c) Enter the shared address in the computer’s browser, enter the conference
link in the webpage, and press “Enter” to quickly enter the conference.
Notes
When the “Link to Conference” function is enabled, the system will
automatically stop the “Padres-Based Projection” function.
Local projection
IP-address-based projection
a) Enable the projection function in “Settings” – “Projection”.
b) Kandao Meeting Ultra and the computer (Mac/Windows system) must be on the
same LAN.
c) Enter the shared address in the computer’s browser to activate wireless
projection.
Notes
Audio sharing is not supported by IP-address-based projection.
Airplay
a) Enable the projection function in “Settings” – “Projection”.
b) Kandao Meeting Ultra and Mac/iPad/iPhone must be on the same LAN.
c) Enable “Screen Mirroring” on Mac/iPad/iPhone and select Kandan Meeting
Ultra.
Miracast
a) Enable the projection function in “Settings” – “Projection”.
b) Kandao Meeting Ultra and the computer (Windows)/tablet (Android)/cellphone
(Android) must be on the same LAN.
c) Projection methods for different platforms:
For the Windows system, press “Win” + “K”, and select Kandao Meeting Ultra.
For the tablet (Android)/cellphone (Android), enable the wireless projection
function, and select Kandao Meeting Ultra.
Notes
The wireless projection function may have different names on different mobile
terminals. The user may call its mobile terminal manufacturer for more
information.
Screen sharing during conference
Wireless projection
a) Enable the built-in screen sharing function of the conference software.
b) Select “Wireless Screen Projection” in the prompt window.
c) Enable the Airplay or Miracast projection function in the instructions for
[Wireless Projection], and then the screen will be shared among the remote
attendees.
Wired projection (to be added)
a) Enable the built-in screen sharing function of the conference software.
b) Select “HDMI IN Projection” in the prompt window.
d) Connect the computer to be shared and the device’s HDMI IN port according
to the prompt of “HDMI IN Projection”, and then the screen will be shared
among the remote attendees.
Camera setting
Open “Settings” – “Camera Settings” to adjust the camera settings, such as intelligent mode (global view, gallery view, speaker view), lock mode, 360° panoramic view, shielded area, and video (exposure value, video inversion, image, resolution, tracking sensitivity).
Intelligent mode
a) Global view: A 360-degree field will be displayed.
b) Gallery view:
Auto: The attendees will be evenly displayed with the speaker highlighted in a
layout for one to eight persons. 1-8 Layout: The attendees will be evenly
displayed with the speaker highlighted in a layout selected by the user.
c) Speaker view:
Auto: The speaker will be highlighted in a window layout for one to seven
persons, with the remaining non-speaking attendees evenly displayed.
1-8 Layout: The speaker will be highlighted in a window layout selected by the
user, with the remaining non-speaking attendees evenly displayed.
Lock mode
The user may control the window’s angle and zoom with the remote controller or
the touch screen.
a) Activation: In a video conference, short press the “Lock” button on the
remote controller, and then the “Lock” icon will show up in the bottom left
corner of the screen, so will a blue selection box.
b) Select a window: Press the left and right buttons on the remote controller
to select a window, press the “OK” button to start adjusting, and then the
selection box will be white.
c) Edit the angle:
i. Edit the angle with the “Direction” buttons on the remote controller (icon)
and zoom the picture with the “Volume +/-” buttons.
ii. Press the “OK” button on the remote controller or other positions on the
touch screen to finish adjusting.
Notes
The current mode will remain locked and remember the viewing angle until the
next manual unlocking.
In the “Lock” mode, screen control by the mouse will be disabled.
To lock or drag the viewing angle with the touch screen, the user should turn
off the camera in the conference software, and then open “Settings” – “Camera
Settings”.
360-degree panorama
When it is on, a 360-degree panoramic view will appear at the top of the
screen.
Shielded area
When it is on, a “shielded area (icon)” will appear in the bottom left corner
of the screen and the system will cease displaying the picture of the shielded
area in the small window. The shielded area will also be marked with shades in
the 360-degree panoramic window. This function is suitable for blocking
screens, external speakers, or doorways with pedestrians passing by.
Video
a) Exposure value: Adjust the exposure value to adapt to different levels of
brightness. Press the “Settings” button on the remote controller to adjust the
exposure value in a video conference.
b) Inversion: When it is on, the screen will be inverted. It is suitable for
the scenario where a device is installed upside down.
c) Mirror image: When it is on, the screen will be mirrored left and right. It
is suitable for the conference software with a mirror function.
d) Resolution: Switch the resolution.
e) Tracking sensitivity: Adjust the speed of intelligent tracking and
switching of the screen in the “Intelligent mode”.
Notes
Some of the camera’s parameters will be synchronized to the “USB mode” once
set. See “III. Instructions for the USB Mode” for more information.
Screen extension
When it is on, different pictures from the same source may be displayed on multiple screens. If the HDMI OUT port of the device is connected to one or two monitors, the system will pop up a selection window every time the application is opened to ask the user which monitor does the user want to display the application on.
System upgrade
After networking the device and enabling its automatic detection, when a new firmware is detected, the system will ask the user whether to upgrade the system and the user may choose to upgrade in idle time. The user may also open “Settings” – “System Upgrade” and choose to automatically download and update firmware when idle.
Setup menu
a) Storage: View the storage space and the stored files
b) Network: Configure the Wi Fi and the Ethernet, including DHCP, static IP,
network proxy, etc.
c) Bluetooth: Turn the Bluetooth on or off, and pair Bluetooth devices
d) Projection: Enable or disable the wireless projection function, and view
the instructions for projection
e) Language: Set the system’s language
f) Keyboard: Set the type of external keyboard
g) Time zone: Set the system’s time zone
h) Firmware upgrade: Upgrade the firmware
i) My device: View the device’s information
j) Volume: Adjust the volume of microphone and speaker
k) Camera setting: Set the intelligent mode, lock mode, 360-degree panorama,
shielded area, inversion mode, exposure compensation, image mode, resolution,
tracking sensitivity, etc.
l) Screen extension: Enable or disable the screen extension function
m) Regulation: View the certification
n) Reset: Reset account information and restore factory settings
Instructions for the USB Mode
Preparations
a) Use the power cord to connect the USB-C power port and the power adapter.
b) Use the data cable to connect the USB-C A/V output port of the device and
the computer.
Notes
Both the power port and the A/V output port are compatible with USB-C.
Misconnection will result in the device’s startup failure or malfunction.
Power-on
Meeting Ultra will automatically turn on when connected to the power adapter.
Notes
In the USB mode, the device’s built-in screen will automatically open the
camera settings and enter the control mode. To exit, please disconnect the
USB.
Remote controller pairing
a) Long press the “OK” and “Volume -” buttons on the remote controller for
about 5 s until the indicator lamp flashes.
b) When paired, the indicator lamp will turn off.
Notes
After the first successful pairing, every time the user press any button on
the remote controller, the remote controller will be automatically paired if
the device is on.
Start the conference
a) Open a video conference software (Tencent Meeting, Ding Talk, Skype, Zoom,
Google Meet, Teams, etc.) to start the video conference.
b) Select Kandao Meeting Ultra as the microphone/speaker/camera device for the
conference, and then the blue lamp will light up, indicating that the device
is working.
Notes
The “USB mode” is plug-and-play. No additional software or driver is required.
When the screen is abnormal (such as stretching, blank screen, etc.), the user
may long press the “Resolution Switch” button on the remote controller for 5 s
or press the “Resolution Switch” button in the camera settings of the device,
so that the device will switch the USB output resolution.
In the USB mode, the user may enable H.264 encoding in “Settings” – “Video” –
“Encoding Format”.
Sleep
Short press the “Power” button on the device or remote controller (icon) to enable the sleep mode, and short press again the button again to wake up the device.
Power-off
The camera keeps working in the USB mode. To turn it off, the user may disconnect the computer and the device, and then press the “Power” button on the device or the remote controller.
Description of Conference Mode and Resolution
Conference mode
The system will remember the parameters set by the user in the host mode or
the USB mode of intelligent mode, lock mode, 360-degree panorama, shielded
area, and video settings, and apply them to all conferences.
Resolution
a) Host mode: The device provides 4K, 1080p, 720p resolution options for the
conference app. The app will select from the resolutions provided by the
device as appropriate in view of the network quality and the membership
permissions. Some conference apps must be set manually.
b) Local recording: The user may select 4K or 1080p before recording.
c) USB mode: The output resolution is 1080p by default. The user may switch to
4K or 720p in the settings.
d) Preview: The preview resolution is fixed at 1080p.
