Product Information

The X34 series of LED lighting fixtures from RAB Lighting are designed to be high-quality, affordable, well-designed and energy-efficient. These fixtures come in two variants – the X34 250W Slipfitter/Trunnion Mount and the X34 350/450W Slipfitter/Trunnion Mount. The product is suitable for wet locations and can be mounted within 4ft of the ground. The slipfitter mounting fits a 2 3/8 O.D. Tenon and the trunnion mounting requires a UL certified liquid-tight cord grip suitable for use with five-conductor-type STW flexible cord.

Product Usage Instructions

  • Read the instructions carefully before installing the fixture and retain them for future reference.
  • The fixture must be wired in accordance with the National Electrical Code and all applicable local codes. Proper grounding is required for safety.
  • Make certain power is OFF before installing or maintaining the fixture. No user-serviceable parts inside.
  • No user maintenance or cleaning is required.
  • The universal voltage driver permits operation at 120V through 277V, 50 or 60 Hz. Units ordered with /480 suffix are 480V only, 50Hz or 60Hz.
  • To adjust the angle of the fixture using the slipfitter, place the slipfitter over the Tenon and secure the fixture with the two set screws on the side of the slipfitter. Loosen the locking bolt and swivel fixture to desired angle. Tighten the locking bolt.
  • To adjust the angle of the fixture using the trunnion, loosen the pivot bolts & angle locking screw. Adjust fixture to desired angle. Tighten pivot bolts & angle locking screw.
  • The Photocell factory setting is set to the OFF position. To enable the Photocell On feature, slide the center switch to the ON position. If the Photocell is set to the ON position and it is daylight, it may take up to 60 seconds for the light to turn off.
  • For maximum light output, use the 4000K color temperature. The product is equipped with 5000K, 4000K or 3000K CCT color temperature selection.
  • The product is equipped with 50%, 75% and 100% power output selection. Follow instructions on the side of the housing to change Photocell operation, Color Temperature (CCT) and/or Power (%) from factory settings.

READ CAREFULLY BEFORE INSTALLING FIXTURE. RETAIN THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR FUTURE REFERENCE. Fixtures must be wired in accordance with the National Electrical Code and all applicable local codes. Proper grounding is required for safety. THIS PRODUCT MUST BE INSTALLED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE APPLICABLE INSTALLATION CODE BY A PERSON FAMILIAR WITH THE CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION OF THE PRODUCT AND THE HAZARDS INVOLVED.

MOUNTING

SLIPFITTER MOUNTING

CAUTION: Do not mount the Slipfitter to a Tennon or Bracket that is more than 20 degrees from vertical. Mounting any angle other than 0-20 degrees increases the risk of disengagement and/or failure of the slipfitter.

  1. The slipfitter mounting fits a 2 3/8″O.D. Tenon. Place the slipfitter over the Tenon and secure the fixture with the two Set Screws on the side of the slipfitter.
  2. Loosen the Locking Bolt and swivel fixture to desired angle.
  3. Tighten the Locking Bolt.

TRUNNION MOUNTING

_ CAUTION: _UL certified liquid-tight cord grip suitable for use with five-conductor-type STW flexible cord shall be used for connection to a wet location outlet box provided by others.

To adjust the angle of the fixture using the trunnion:

  1. Loosen the Pivot Bolts & angle locking screw.
  2. Adjust fixture to desired angle.
  3. Tighten Pivot Bolts & angle locking screw.

FIELD ADJUSTMENT

Photocell Operation

This product is equipped with a photocell. Photocell factory setting is set to the “OFF” position. Should you wish to enable the Photocell “On” feature slide the center switch to the “ON” position (Fig 4). If the Photocell is set to the “ON” position and it is daylight, it may take up to 60-seconds for the light to turn off.

Color Temperature (CCT) Selection

This product is equipped with 5000K, 4000K or 3000K CCT color temperature selection. For maximum light output use the 4000K color temperature.

Power (%) Selection

  • This product is equipped with 50%, 75% and 100% power output selection.
  • Follow instructions below to change Photocell operation, Color Temperature (CCT) and/or Power (%) from factory settings.

Factory Settings: 100% Power, 4000K CCT, Photocell Off

  1. Locate the selector switches on side of housing as shown in Fig. 3.
  2. Select Color Temperature (CCT), Power (%) and/or Photocell on/off function by sliding the respective switch to the desired value (Fig. 4).

0-10V DIMMABLE WIRING

Note: For external dimming control set power switch to 100% and turn off Photocell switch.

Universal voltage driver permits operation at 120V through 277V, 50 or 60Hz. Units ordered with /480V suffi x are 480V only, 50 or 60Hz. For 0-10V dimming, follow the wiring instructions as shown in Fig. 5.

  1. Connect the black fixture lead to the LINE supply lead.
  2. Connect the white fixture lead to the COMMON supply lead.
  3. Connect the GROUND wire from fixture to supply ground.
    • Do NOT connect the GROUND of the dimming fixture to the output.
  4. Connect the purple fixture lead to the DIM V+ lead.
  5. Connect the pink fixture lead to the DIM V- lead.
  6. Cap the yellow fixture lead, if present. Do NOT connect.

CLEANING & MAINTENANCE

CAUTION

  • Be sure fixture temperature is cool enough to touch.
  • Do not clean or maintain while fixture is energized.
  1. Clean glass lens with non-abrasive glass cleaning solution.
  2. Do not open the fi xture to clean the LED. Do not touch the LED.

TROUBLESHOOTING

  1. Check that the line voltage at the fixture is correct. Refer to wiring directions.
  2. Is the fixture grounded properly?
  3. Is the photocell, if used, functioning properly?
