Hello
Lightcloud Blue is a Bluetooth mesh wireless lighting control system that allows you to control RAB’s various compatible devices. With RAB’s patent- pending Rapid Provisioning technology, devices can be quickly and easily commissioned for residential and  large commercial applications using the Lightcloud Blue mobile app. Each device in a system can communicate with any other device, eliminating the need for a Gateway or Hub and maximizing the control system’s reach.

Safety Information

WARNINGS:

  • Risk of electrical shock. Disconnect power at fuse or circuit breaker before installing or servicing.
  • To prevent early lamp failure, lamp should only be installed in operating environments ranging between -30°C and +40°C (-22°F and +104°F).
  • No user serviceable parts inside. To avoid electrical shock do not disassemble product.
  • Risk of fire or electric shock, LED Retrofit Kit installation requires knowledge of luminaires electrical systems. lf not qualified, do not attempt installation. Contact a qualified electrician.
  • Risk of fire or electric shock, install this kit only in luminares that have the construction features and minimum dimensions shown in Figure1 and where the input rating of the retroft kit does not exceed the input rating of the luminaire.
  • Do not make or alter any open holes in an enclosure of wiring or electrical components during kit installation.
  • To prevent wiring damage or abrasion, do not expose wiring to edges of sheet metal or other sharp objects.
  • Installers should not disconnect existing wires from lampholder terminals to make new connections at lampholder terminals, instead installers should cut existing lamphoider leads away from the lampholder and make new electrical connections to  lampholder lead wires by employing applicable connectors.
  • This retroft kit is accepted as a component of a luminaire where the suitability of the combination shall be determined by authorities having jurisdiction.
  • This device is not intended for use with emergency exits.
  • This retroft kits suitable for wet locations luminaires specifed as below: Type Non IC; Type lC; Covered ceiling; Uncovered ceiling. Installers should examine all parts that are not intended to be replaced by the retroft kit for damage and replace any  damaged parts prior to installation of the retrofit kit.

NOTE 1: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation.  This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in  a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following  measures:

  • Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
  • Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
  • Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
  • Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.

A screwdriver is needed for installation.

Optional Accessories

Our disk downlight is compatible with common 6“ recessed housings. The lamp socket kit is sold separately (Model # DSKFA6/PIR/ACC) which includes the E26 adapter, screws, nuts, and friction clips for installation in recessed housings.

Installing your Lightcloud Blue Device

Pre-Installation

  1. Turn off power
    • Place the wall switch in the off position.
    • Turn off the main power at the breaker panel or remove the fuse from the fuse box.

  2. Find a suitable location
    • Lightcloud Blue devices should be positioned within 60 ft. of each other.
    • Building materials such as brick, concrete and steel construction may require additional Lightcloud Blue devices to extend around an obstruction.

  3. Install the Lightcloud Blue Downlight
    3a Installation with J-BOX
    1. Make sure power is turned off and the J-Box is affixed to the ceiling surface. (Fig.1)
    2. Connect the luminaire to supply wires with wire nut. Wire nut live (black) wire with Disk black wire and wire nut neutral (white) wire with Disk white wire. Wire nut ground (green) with Disk ground (green) wire. (Fig.2)
    3. Remove lens by turning counter clockwise to unlock. (Fig.3)
    4. Safely place all wires into the junction box, mount luminaire to the junction box by tightening the screws through the keyhole slots. (Fig.4)
    5. Replace lens and twist clockwise to lock. (Fig.5)
    6. Caulk around the mounting surface edge with silicone sealant. (Fig.6)

3b Installation with Existing Housing
1. Make sure the power is turned off at the source to the recessed housing that you are installing Disk Light in. Remove existing trim and CFL, or incandescent bulbs. Remove existing mounting plate from the recessed housing (if any) and then remove lamp  socket from the plate. (Fig.7)
2. Remove lens by turning counter clockwise to unlock. (Fig.8)
3. Fasten the friction clip on the back of the Disk with two screws. (Fig.9) Adjust arrow on friction clip to align with the number on Disk in order to achieve a tight fit inside the housing. (4”, 5”, 6” means
4”, 5”, 6” can housing installation hole)
4. Replace lens and twist clockwise to lock. (Fig.10)
5. Wire the Disk: black to black, white to white. (Fig.11)
6. Screw E26 base adapter into socket in recessed housing, and simply slide the trim and metal friction clips into the housing. (Fig.12)
7. Carefully place wires into fixture and push the Disk into the housing until flush with ceiling. (Fig.13)
8. Caulk around the mounting surface edge with silicone sealant. (Fig.14)

Controlling your Lightcloud Blue Device

  1. Confirm your device is powered on.

  2. Download the Lightcloud Blue app from the Apple® App Store or Google® Play store.

  3. Launch the app and login or create an account.

  4. Tap the “add device” icon in the app to start connecting devices.

  5. Create areas, groups, and scenes to organize and control your devices.

  6. You’re all set!

Setting Device to Pairing Mode

If your Lightcloud Blue Disk is already paired, you can reset it to factory settings by using the below methods.

Method 1: Delete from App
Open the app and access the device settings for the paired device.
Be sure that the disk is online and select “Delete”.

Method 2: Manual
Power the lamp off and on S times consecutively. Do not allow less than 1 second and more than 3 seconds to elapse between switching. The lamp will flash 3 times, then reset to 100% brightness at default CCT.

Method 3: Rapid Reset Tool
The rapid reset process must be done by professional electricians qualified by RAB. Reach out to your RAB sales manager to request a Rapid Reset Tool. The tool simply needs to be placed directly as below picture on disk for 2 seconds. The disk will flash 3 times,  then reset to 100% brightness at default CCT.

Configuration
All configuration of Lightcloud Blue products may be performed using the Lightcloud Blue web application, or by calling RAB.

Emergency default
If communication is lost, the Lightcloud Blue DISK Downlight will revert back to the last known ‘On’ status.
This setting can be adjusted using the Lightcloud Blue mobile app.
(Warning: Any wires not in use must be capped off or otherwise insulated.)
