The Wireless Interface 2 is a product manufactured for Mitsubishi Electric US, Inc. Product Usage Instructions: Connecting the Wireless Interface 2 to the Indoor Unit
Before connecting the Wireless Interface 2 to the indoor unit, power down the entire system. Follow the steps below:
- Plug one end of the connecting cable into the white connector on the Wireless Interface 2.
- Disassemble the necessary indoor unit components to locate the CN105 control interface connector on the indoor unit control PCB.
- Connect the other end of the connecting cable to the CN105 connector.
For detailed instructions on accessing the CN105 connector, refer to the indoor unit’s service manual. Once the Wireless Interface 2 is connected to the indoor unit, follow the instructions in the installation/instruction manual to set up the device for use. It is important to note that any third- party Wireless Interface 2 or any third-party wireless or Wi-Fi service used with Mitsubishi Electric equipment may result in damage to property or harm to individuals. Use of such third-party products or services is not recommended and is done at the user’s own risk.

device is reinstalled or repaired.
About Wireless Interface 2
Wireless Interface 2 allows the kumo cloud® app to communicate with and control the air conditioner remotely. To enable this communication and control, Wireless Interface 2 needs to be configured with a wireless router connected to the internet.
ATTENTION
- The Wireless Interface 2 must connect to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
- The Wireless Interface 2 will not work on a 5 GHz Wi-Fi network.
- The Wireless Interface can only connect to Wi-Fi channels 1-11.
- For the best performance connect the Wireless Interface to a 2.4 GHz only SSID, but there are some multi-band Wi-Fi networks that can correctly manage a 2.4 GHz only device.
- Please verify if your multi-band Wi-Fi router can manage 2.4 GHz only devices.
- Some room air conditioners are not compatible with the Wireless Interface 2. Make sure that the room air conditioner is compatible with the Wireless Interface 2 before attempting to install it.

After installing the Wireless Interface 2, provide this installation manual to the user. Instruct users to store it with their room air conditioner instruction manual in a safe location.
Warning
- Do not use the red 5-pin connector to create an unsupported equipment combination. Unsupported equipment combinations may result in fire, electric shock and/or damage/water leaks. Refer to the Wireless Interface 2 compatibility guide for more details.
- Users should not install the Interface on their own.
- Improper installation may result in fire, electric shock or damage/water leaks. Consult the dealer from whom you purchased the unit or a professional installer.
- The Interface should be securely installed in accordance with this installation manual. Improper installation may result in fire, electric shock or damage.
- The unit should be mounted in a location that can support its weight.
- If the unit is installed in a location that cannot support its weight, the Wireless Interface 2 could fall and cause damage. Install securely in a place where the Wireless Interface 2 does not interfere with equipment operation or serviceability.
- Improper installation may result in fire, electric shock or damage/water leaks.
- Do not install Wireless Interface 2 inside a metal enclosure. Improper installation may result in diminished signal strength.
- Connect and fasten the electric wires securely so external force on the wires will not apply on the terminals. Improper connection and mounting may result in breakdown, heat generation, smoke generation or fire.
- Mitsubishi components or other designated components must be used for installation. Improper component may result in fire, electric shock or damage/water leaks.
- Electrical work must be performed by a licensed professional using the instructions detailed in the installation manual. Inadequate circuit capacity or improper installation may result in electric shock or fire.

- The antenna used for this transmitter must be installed to provide a separation distance of at least 20 cm from all persons and must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter.
Caution
- To prevent damage from static electricity, touch a nearby metal body to discharge static electricity from yourself before touching the Wireless Interface 2. Static electricity from the human body may damage the Wireless Interface 2 unit.
- Do not install the Wireless Interface 2 in a place with much steam, such as bathroom. Avoid places where water is splashed or where condensation forms on walls. Installing in such places can cause electric shock or breakdown.
- Do not install the Wireless Interface 2 in places with direct sunlight or where the ambient temperature is 40º C, 104º F or more, or is 0º C, 32º F or less. Direct sunlight and high or low temperature environments may cause the Wireless Interface 2 to deform or breakdown.
- Do not use in special environments. Use in places with much oil (including machine oil), steam or sulfuric gas may lead to severe decrease in functionality and damage to parts.
- Turn off power supply of connected equipment when performing construction or wiring work. Failure to turn off the power supply to the connected equipment may lead to malfunction or breakdown of the Wireless Interface 2 or connected equipment.
- Dismantling the indoor unit. Please refer to the indoor unit’s “service manual” for detailed instructions for accessing the control interface connector CN105 on the indoor unit control PCB.

- The end user should read and accept the terms and conditions of kumo cloud® before commencing installation of PAC-USWHS002-WF-2. Use of the PAC-USWHS002-WF-2 implies acceptance of our terms and conditions located at kumocloud.com/terms.
- To complete connection of the PAC-USWHS002-WF-2 to kumo cloud®, physical access to the access point may be required.
- Visit kumocloud.com for additional information about controlling the PAC-USWHS002-WF-2 from your web browser or smart device.
- The PAC-USWHS002-WF-2 should not be installed and connected to any Mitsubishi Electric system that provides cooling or heating to critical applications.
- Details of the air conditioner and PAC-USWHS002-WF-2 can be recorded on page 7 ‘Setting Information’.

- underperformance of a system or any product,
- system or product fault, or
- loss or damage to any system or product, which is caused by or arises from connection to and/or use of any third-party Wireless Interface 2 or any third-party wireless or Wi-Fi service with Mitsubishi Electric equipment.

Parts
Connecting the Wireless Interface 2 to the Indoor Unit
- Power down the entire system.
- Plug one end of the connecting cable into the white connector on the Wireless Interface 2.
- Disassemble the necessary indoor unit components, locate the CN105 connector on the indoor unit control board, and plug in the other end of the connecting cable.
- Select an empty spot in or around the indoor unit to mount the Wireless Interface 2, then attach one Velcro strip to the device, and one to the desired mounting location. Align the Velcro strips and press down firmly to create a secure attachment.
- Start up: Refer to the kumo cloud® Technician Manual for the installer. To view the manual:
- Go to mylinkdrive.com
- Select the required product market.
- Click Controls and go to the kumo cloud section.
- Under kumo cloud Devices, click PAC-USWHS002-WF-2 and then click Technician Manual.
IMPORTANT NOTE
The red connector on the Wireless Interface 2 provides a way for technicians to connect it to an MHK1 or MHK2 remote controller. This connector is not compatible with any other components, controllers, or accessories offered by Mitsubishi Electric. Make sure not to use this connector to connect to the indoor unit, as it will result in a failure of communication. Not all indoor unit models are compatible with the Wireless Interface 2 and the MHK1, so it is recommended to confirm compatibility by visiting mylinkdrive.com and reviewing the compatibility charts.
