Product Information
The TS-1200TSC/HS-20TSC is a calculator that can perform various calculations including constant, power, fraction, percentage, memory, floating calculation, add mode, reciprocal calculation, round up, round-down, round off, tax calculation, business calculation, and currency conversion calculation. The calculator comes with a user manual that contains instructions and safety precautions. The product is manufactured by Canon and more information can be found at https://global.canon/calmanual.
Product Usage Instructions
Before using the calculator, it is important to read the instructions and safety precautions provided in the user manual. Keep the user manual for future reference.
Basic Calculations
- To perform basic calculations like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, use the number keys and the appropriate mathematical operator.
- To clear the display, press the “C” button.
- To perform constant calculations, press the “/ (TS-1200TSC) (HS-20TSC)” button followed by the number and then the “=” button.
- To perform power calculations, press the “x^y” button followed by the base number and then the exponent number.
- To perform fraction calculations, press the “a/b” button followed by the numerator and then the denominator.
- To perform percentage calculations, press the “%” button followed by the number.
- To use memory functions, press the “M+” button to add a number to memory or “M-” button to subtract a number from memory. Press “MR” to recall the number from memory.
Tax Calculation
- To set the tax rate, press the “TAX+” button followed by the tax rate percentage and then the “=” button.
- To add the tax amount to a price without tax, enter the price and then press the “+TAX” button.
- To subtract the tax amount from a price with tax, enter the price and then press the “-TAX” button.
- To recall the tax rate, press the “TAX-” button.
Business Calculation
- To calculate cost, enter the selling price and profit margin percentage, and then press the “Cost” button.
- To calculate selling price, enter the cost and profit margin percentage, and then press the “Selling Price” button.
- To calculate profit margin, enter the cost and selling price, and then press the “Profit Margin” button.
Currency Conversion Calculation
- To set the currency rate, press the “Rate Set” button followed by the currency rate and then the “=” button.
- To convert from one currency to another, enter the amount and press the currency conversion button (“$→€” for US$ to Euro or “€→$” for Euro to US$).
- To recall the currency rate, press the “Rate Recall” button.
POWER SUPPLY
This calculator comes with a dual power source, solar cell and alkaline battery. The duration of the battery depends on individual usage.
( Note: Do not attempt to change the battery. Please have a Canon Service Center technician to change the battery.)
Electromagnetic interference or electrostatic discharge may cause the display to malfunction or the contents of the memory to be lost or altered. Should this occur, press the key and restart your calculation from the beginning. After resetting, be sure to set the tax rate and currency rate again.
OVERFLOW FUNCTIONS
In the following cases, error message (E) will be shown on the display. The keyboard is electronically locked, and further operation is impossible. Press to clear the overflow. The overflow occurs when:
- The result or the memory content exceeds 12 digits to the left of the decimal point.
- Dividing by “0”.
