CAUTION: Risk of property damage.
Leaky drain connections will damage property. Ensure that a watertight seal
exists on all drain connections.
Important Information
To perform a pressure test on a drain waste vent and water supply lines, order
a seal test kit [K-7117]. Perform the pressure test before covering the
plumbing with wall material.
Important Information
If possible, install the drain before installing the bath.
Hand tighten the overflow nut to avoid cross-threading.
Observe all local plumbing and building codes.
Installation Guide
- To measure the pipe lengths before cutting, dry fit the overflow components to the bath.
- Dry fit the drain ell.
- Insert the pipe into the overflow. Draw a line on the pipe level with the bottom of the drain ell.
- Mark a line 2-1/8″ (54 mm) above the first line.
- Remove the pipe from the bath and cut at the second marked location.
- Using the tee for a measurement, mark the pipe to fit into the tee and the ell about 5/8″ (16 mm).
- Remove the pipe from the bath and cut at the marked location.
- Check for a proper fit.
- Remove the overflow and drain ell from the bath.
- Apply silicone sealant to the overflow gasket.
- Using the overflow mounting plate, reattach the overflow to the bath.
- Apply plumbers putty to the flange and 100% silicone sealant to the gasket.
- Secure with the flange.
- Apply PVC primer and cement to the pipes.
- Connect the drain pipes and waste pipe to the tee and the drain ell.
- Attach the overflow cover and install the stopper.
- Allow the sealant to cure. Fill the bath past the overflow and check for leaks.
Finish/color code must be specified when ordering.
ONE-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
KOHLER plumbing products are warranted to be free of defects in material and
workmanship for one year from date of installation.
Kohler Co. will, at its election, repair, replace or make appropriate
adjustment where Kohler Co. inspection discloses any such defects occurring in
normal usage within one (1) year after installation. Kohler Co. is not
responsible for removal or installation costs. Use of in-tank toilet cleaners
will void the warranty.
