These equipment require the pre-use check and if any components has indication for damage such as corrosion, deformation, seams rupture or others visual defect must be considered inapt to use until the competent person validation. Warning: it is essential for safety to verify the free space required beneath at the workplace before each occasion of use, so that, in the case of a fall, there will be no collision with the ground or other obstacle in the fall path.lt is essential for safety that equipment is withdrawn from use immediately should: any doubts arise about its condition for safe use or; it has been used to arrest a fall. The recommendation in regard to the frequency of periodic examinations, taking account of such factors as legislation, equipment type, frequency of use, and environmental conditions. The periodic examination frequency shall be at least every 12 months. Attention: if a complete system is supplied, that components of any complete system shall not be substituted. Attention with the limitations of the materials; the temperature, the effect of sharp edges, chemical reagents, electrical conductivity, cutting, abrasion, UV degradation, and other climatic conditions may affect its equipment performance. Making any alterations or additions to the equipment without the manufacturer’s prior written consent, and that any repair shall only be carried out in accordance with manufacturer’s procedures. HOW TO USE:
Connect the karabiner (EN362) to be held in the major axis positioning and protects the end of the lanyard from wear; clip a locking karabiner (auto locking preferred) through the attachment point (A or 1/2 A+ 1/2 A); make sure that the line is taut; attach the anchor line to a secure anchor point EN795; make sure that the rope grab is at the user shoulders level and not under it. Always check the legibility of the product markings. The equipment becomes wet, either from being in use or when due to cleaning, it shall be allowed to dry naturally, and shall be kept away from direct heat Verify that this product is compatible with other elements of the system in your application (compatible = good functional interaction). Other types of edges are not allowed and use is prohibited. To be used in horizontal condition, the anchorage point must be located at the same level as the edge, where the risk of fall exists. In order to avoid pendulum effects, the working area must not exceed a 30° angle limit, from each side of the vertical of the anchorage point. IMPORTANT: Despite this test, the following must be observed for all cases during horizontal or sloping use where there is a risk of falling over an edge:

  1. If the hazard evaluation performed before commencing work reveals that the fall edge involves particularly “sharp cutting” and / or “burred” edge (e.g. uncovered parapet walls or sharp concrete edge and if devices with fasteners made from webbings are to be used:
    – Corresponding precautions must be taken so that a fall over the edge is precluded, or – An edge protection must be mounted before commencing work, or
    – The manufacturer must be contacted

  2. The suspension point of the fall arrester must not be below the standing area (e.g. platform, flat roof) of the user. (picture 3)

  3. The deflection at the edge (measured between the two flanges of the joints and fastenings) must be at least 90°.

  4. The required headroom below the edge is depicted in picture 5.

  5. In order to prevent a swinging fall, the work area or side movements from the centre axis must be restricted to max. 1.50m. In other cases, no individual anchorage points, but insteadg. stopping devices of class C (only if approved for joint use) or D as per EN795 must be used.

  6. Note: When using the fall arrester on a stopping device of class C corresponding to EN795 with a horizontally moving guide, the deflection of the stopping device must also be taken into consideration when ascertaining the required clearance height below the user. The information in the instructions for use must be observed for this.

  7. Note: In the case of fall over an edge, there is a risk of injury during the catching process as a result of the falling person hitting building parts or structural parts.

  8. Special measures for rescuing must be specified and practiced for the event of a fall over the edge.

  9. Note: Fall arrest devices identified with picture “A”, “B”, “C” and “D” are not suited for fall impacts over unprotected edges (e.g. retractable Dyneema or Stainless steel rope lanyards).
