BEFORE USE
Remove any stickers. Wash all parts in soapy water before use (except for
heating base) and rinse thoroughly. Do not use any sharp objects in the pans
or on the baking sheet as these may damage the non-stick coating.
USING YOUR APPLIANCE
The adjustable temperature means that the fondue pan can be used for various kinds of fondue: the classic meat fondue, a cheese fondue, a chocolate fondue or a Chinese fondue (with ingredients cooked in boiling stock). Fill the pan with the desired ingredient-oil, cheese, stock or chocolate-and place it on the heating base. Make sure the pan is not too full. The contents should come between the minimum and maximum levels. Set the thermostat regulates the temperature. For the classic meat fondue the thermostat needs to be set at the maximum level. Whereas for cheese, Chinese and chocolate fondues the “medium” setting is preferable. Adjust the temperature so that the contents are just starting to boil.
Cheese and chocolate in particular need to be heated up slowly, as the pan will otherwise boil over. Stir every now and to obtain a smooth mixture. Only prick in to the ingredients, not into the pan.
KEEPING FOOD HOT
Set the temperature to “low” for this.
CLEANING AND STORAGE
FIRST UNPLUG THE APPLIANCE
The pot can be washed in soapy water or in the dishwasher. Do not use a
scouring agent or scouring sponge. Cleaning tip: put a cup of water and a
squirt of washing up liquid in the pan or on the baking sheet. Switch on the
lowers temperature and leave for about 10 minutes. Then switch off and rinse
thoroughly. The heating base must be kept dry. It can be wiped with a damp
cloth if necessary.
