Frequently Asked Questions

Does this webcam “swivel” side to side? Or is it “fixed” in place only looking forward?

It does not have a side-to-side swivel. Only up and down.

Does it have a tripod mounting screw hole?

Yes it does, it is just hidden. I only purchased it after reading your answer and was able to mount it to my tripod when it arrived today. It’s hidden, but if you can read the directions, you can find it. I wish Amazon would take down the false answers from ppl who didn’t read the directions because I almost didn’t purchase it based on their responses.

Can I use this with a Galaxy tablet?

In all honesty, I would consult Logitech directly. They’d be able to give you a more accurate answer.

Can I use this for steaming off my ps5? Would I be a good option?

Yes. It should work well with streaming. I have enjoyed high-quality output with this webcam.

Can the camera swivel on the mount, so you can turn it to face different directions?

Yes, it can. The mounting bracket is a plastic piece that is inserted into a metal threaded nut which is there for attachment to the typical threaded bolt/screw of other arms and mounts. It can move from side to side but with no up-and-down angling.

Does it work on Debian Linux?

Should work just fine. Works just fine on my Kubuntu 20.04 machine with native drivers. Not sure if straight Debian will need any additional drivers installed to use it.

Does the camera have built-in (hardware) compression, like the 930, or does it depend on the computer’s CPU?

BRIO takes advantage of the chipset-powered video encoding that Intel introduced with Sandy Bridge in 2010. This eliminates the cost, power consumption, space, and cooling considerations of a 4K-capable encoding chip in the camera itself.

Can you use a wired headset with this camera?

On Windows, you can use any audio headset that you want. I am using a Creative SxFi Theater headset with this camera on Zoom and Teams video conferences. It’s not the camera so much as the provisions in Windows for changing sources and destinations of audio, including with webcams.

With this webcam do I need to download drivers for it to function?

It’ll just work all on its own when you plug it in, but you have access to settings that can fine-tune the image and change the field of view with the Logitech Logitune software.

Will this work on the PlayStation 4 Pro?

I don’t know the setup for PlayStation 4 Pro but this is the Roll Royce of webcams.

Is there a zoom feature or only the three presets?

Only the presets unless you have video recording/streaming software such as OBS which can allow you to cut trim and zoom as much as you’d like

Can I plug this into the USB-c port on my laptop?

Yes. That’s where I have it connected to my laptop.
