Product Information

ATM Series
The ATM series is a time delay relay unit with various time ranges designed for use in machinery control, nuclear power control, medical equipment, ships, vehicles, railways, aircraft, combustion apparatus, safety equipment, crime/disaster prevention devices, and other applications where fail-safe devices are necessary.

Safety Considerations

  • A fail-safe device must be installed when using the unit with machinery that may cause serious injury or substantial economic loss.
  • Do not use the unit in places where flammable/explosive/corrosive gas, high humidity, direct sunlight, radiant heat, vibration, impact, or salinity may be present.
  • Install on a device panel before use.
  • Do not connect, repair, or inspect the unit while connected to a power source.
  • Check connections before wiring.
  • Do not disassemble or modify the unit.
  • Use the unit within the rated specifications.
  • Use a dry cloth to clean the unit and do not use water or  organic solvent.
  • Keep the product away from metal chips, dust, and wire residue which flow into the unit.

Product Components

The product components include an output indicator (red), power indicator (green), time unit (sec/min/hour), and a dial for the time setting.

Product Operation Timing Chart

The operation timing chart shows the power on/off timing and the time limit for N.C. (normally closed) and N.O. (normally open) switches. The power indicator shows when the unit is turned on/off, and the output indicator shows the status of the control output.

Product Connections

Refer to the ‘specifications’ for checking the power supply and control output. The unit supports both IEC and NEMA marking.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Install the unit on a device panel before use.
  2. Check connections before wiring.
  3. Use the unit within the rated specifications.
  4. Use a dry cloth to clean the unit and do not use water or organic solvent.
  5. Keep the product away from metal chips, dust, and wire residue  which flow into the unit.
  6. Set the time range according to your application needs using the dial for the time setting.
  7. Connect the power supply and control output according to the specifications.
  8. Turn on the power and the power indicator will show that the unit is turned on.
  9. When the time limit for N.C. or N.O. switches is reached, the  output indicator will show the status of the control output.

Failure to follow this instruction may result in fire or product damage.

Cautions during Use

  • Follow instructions in ‘Cautions during Use’. Otherwise, it may cause unexpected accidents.

  • The power supply should be insulated and limited voltage/current or Class2, SELV power supply device.

  • When supplying or turning off the power, use a switch or etc. to avoid chattering.

  • Install a power switch or circuit breaker in an easily accessible place for supplying or disconnecting the power..

  • In order to avoid leakage current flowing, connect resistance and condenser like below. Otherwise, it may cause malfunction.

  • After turning off the power, changing the time range, etc.

  • Keep away from high voltage lines or power lines to prevent inductive noise. In the case installing the power line and input signal line closely, use a line filter or varistor at the power line and shielded wire at the input signal line.
Do not use near equipment which generates strong magnetic force or high- frequency noise.

  • This unit may be used in the following environments.

    • Indoors (in the environment condition rated in ‘Specifications’)
    • Altitude max. 2,000 m
    • Pollution degree 2
    • Installation category II
