Electric Cooler

  1. Connect the power cable to the cooler.

WARNING To reduce the risk of fire, explosion, electric shock, or injury when using your cooler, follow these basic safety precautions:

  • This cooler must be properly installed and located in accordance with the Installation Instructions before it is used.

  • Unplug the cooler before making repairs or cleaning.
    NOTE: Power to the cooler cannot be disconnected by any setting on the control panel.
    NOTE: Repairs must be performed by a qualified Service Professional.

  • Replace all parts and panels before operating.

  • Do not use an extension cord.

  • Keep flammable materials and vapors away from the cooler.

  • Do not store explosive substances such as aerosol cans with a flammable propellant in this appliance.

  • To prevent suffocation and entrapment hazards to children, remove the door from any cooler before disposing of it or discontinuing its use.

  • To avoid serious injury or death, children should not stand on, or play in or with the appliance.

  • Children and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge can use this appliance only if they are supervised or have been given instructions on safe use and understand the hazards involved.

  • This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as: staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments; farm houses; by clients in hotels, motels, bed & breakfast and other residential environments; catering and similar non-retail applications.

  • The applications can be use for cooling and deep-freezing food.

  • Do not apply harsh cleaners to the cooler. Certain cleaners will damage plastic which may cause parts such as the door or door handles to detach unexpectedly. See the Care and Cleaning section for detailed instructions.

  • Do not operate the unit where the temperature will go below 55°F(12.8°C) or above 110°F(43.3°C) (see unit ON/OFF).

  • Ensure the cooler is not installed in a location(Indoor/Outdoor) prone to water stagnation.

  • Do not install the cooler in a location exposed to water (rain, etc.,). Make sure to place the cooler on a dry, protected surface and away from edges.

  • Install it on a floor strong enough to withstand 122 lbs.

  • Use only manufacturer-supplied power adapters when using the product.

CAUTION

To reduce the risk of injury when using your cooler, follow these basic safety precautions.

  • The cooler is heavy, especially when loaded. Use two or more people to lift the cooler to avoid back or other injury.
  • Keep fingers out of the “pinch point” areas; Clearances between the lids are necessarily small. Be careful closing lids when children are in the area.
  • Do not touch the cold surfaces in the freezer compartment when hands are damp or wet, skin may stick to these extremely cold surfaces.
  • Do not refreeze frozen foods which have thawed completely.
  • Route the power cord so that it doesn’t cause a trip hazard.

CONNECTING ELECTRICITY

WARNING ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD

Only use the adapters provided with the appliance. Do not use an extension cord. Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, fire, or electrical shock. This cooler is designed to operate on 12V or 24V DC input. Follow the instructions in this manual for connecting electricity with either the provided DC power cable or with the provided AC/DC adapter. If using the AC/DC adapter, ensure the adapter is plugged into an outlet rated 115VAC on a 15A circuit. If using the DC power cable, ensure the 15A fuse is installed properly on the DC power cable plug. Never bypass the 15A fuse and never replace the fuse with one rated greater than 15A. Never unplug your cooler by pulling on the power cord. Always grip plug firmly and pull straight out from the outlet. Immediately discontinue use of a damaged supply cord. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a qualified service professional with an authorized service part from the manufacturer. When moving the cooler away from the wall, be careful not to roll over or damage the power cord.

PROPER DISPOSAL OF YOUR OLD COOLERS

Failure to follow these disposal instructions can result in death or serious injury

IMPORTANT: Child entrapment and suffocation are not problems of the past. Junked or abandoned coolers are still dangerous even if they will sit for “just a few days.” If you are getting rid of your old refrigerator, please follow the instructions below to help prevent accidents.

Before You Throw Away Your Old Appliance

  • Take off the lids.
  • Leave the shelves in place so that children may not easily climb inside.

Disposal of appliances in accordance with Federal and Local Regulations. Cooler insulation material requires special disposal procedures. Contact your local authorities for the environmentally safedisposal of your appliance.

Connecting to a DC Power Cable

  1. Place the electric cooler in a desired location in the vehicle.
  2. Connect the DC power cable to the electric cooler.
  3. Make sure to connect the DC plug to the DC power outlet located in the vehicle.
  4. Switch on the power button to the electric cooler.
  5. Only use the supplied DC cable. If damaged, it should be replaced with a DC cable from the manufacturer or service agent.
    To disconnect, reverse steps for connecting.

Power Management

The cooler is designed to operate on DC
voltage inputs.

  • DC Input 12V or 24V

For optimum performance and efficiency, it is important that the cooler has a reliable 15A fuse and a protected DC supply that is in good condition.

NOTE: When using a non-standard input power supply, ensure that the peak current output is greater than 15A.

REPLACING THE DC FUSE

  1. Remove the screw with a phillips screw driver.
  2. Remove the fuse cover and defective fuse.
  3. Insert the new fuse. Make sure it is the same type and rating (15A).
  4. Replace the fuse cover.

NOTE: Style of plug may vary slightly.

USING THE COOLER AT HOME

  1. Place the electric cooler at desired location.
  2. Connect the AC/DC adapter to the electric cooler.
  3. Connect the AC/DC adapter to the power socket.
  4. Switch on the power button to the electric cooler.

Getting Started

SOME REMINDERS

  1. Before use, keep the cooler in an upright position for 24 hours to ensure the cooler will work properly.
  2. Pre-Cool the unit to enhance system efficiency. Make sure the cooler is empty prior to Pre-Cool.

Key Button

  • Power: Press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds to Power unit on or off.
  • Power Mode: Press Power Mode button to switch between Quick mode and Eco mode.
  • Battery Protect: Press Battery Protect button to select Low, Middle or High level.
  • Light Mode: Press the Light Mode button to adjust the light’s setting to low, middle, or high.
  • Temperature Adjust
  • Control Lock: Press Control Lock button for 3 seconds, to lock and unlock the control.
  • Zone Select: Press Zone Select button to select the right or left zone. In 75L models, the corresponding LED will light up when a zone is selected. In 50L models, this button is disabled and the LED indicator will be off.

Power Mode

  • Press Power Mode button to switch between Quick mode and Eco mode; the corresponding icon will be be lit.
  • Default setting is Eco mode.

Battery Protect

  • When the power to the cooler is turned on, press the Battery Protect button to enter battery protect mode. The panel will display the current setting.
  • In selection mode, press the Battery Protect button to to cycle to the next setting option. The panel will display LOW > MED > HIGH .
  • Default setting is MED.
  • The table below defines the voltage protection level and resume voltage in 12V and 24V input.

Temperature Control

  • When a zone is selected, Press ˅ or ˄ button to increase or decrease the temperature setting.
  • The default temperature setting for 50L model is 5°C/41°F.
  • The default temperature setting for 75L model is 5°C/41°F for RIGHT ZONE, -18°C/-0.0°F for

LEFT ZONE.

  • Each time the ˅ or ˄ is pressed, the temperature setting will change 1°C/°F.
  • To display the cooler’s current temperature, press and hold the ˅ and ˄ button simultaneously for 3 seconds. While the temperature display is flashing, press the ˅ and ˅ button to switch the temperature display to F or C. If no key is pressed for 5 seconds, the temperature setting display will stop flashing and display the current temperature.
  • The Temperature range setting from -6°F ~ 68°F. (-21°C~+20°C).

Light Mode

  • Press Light mode button to activate and enter light setting mode.
  • Light mode: toggle through High, Mid and Low.
  • Default is High.
  • Low: All LEDs and panels will light at Low brightness, light board LED will be turned off. After 5 seconds goes to SLEEP mode all LEDs will be turned off except Power button LED until any button betouched again.
  • Mid: All LEDs and panels will light at high brightness, and the light board LED will light at low brightness. After 20 seconds, the display goes into SLEEP mode, and all LED displays will light at low brightness until any button is pressed
  • High: All LEDs and panels, including the light board LED, will light at high brightness.

Control Lock

  • Press and hold the Control Lock button for 3 seconds to lock or unlock the control. When the control lock is activated, all buttons are disabled.
  • Once the Control Lock is selected, press any button, the Control Lock indicator LED will flash to indicate the control is locked.
  • When the power is turned off or if there is a sudden loss of power, the control lock function will retain its previous setting when power is restored.

USB Output Charges

  • The DC cooler has 3 USB ports for charging other products.
  • USB port can provide a total max 5V/3A,15W output.

Door switch and Light

  • The sensor on the light board detects whether the door is open or closed and will turn the light on or off.

Buzzer and Beep

  • Once the unit is powered ON, press and hold Power Mode and ˅ button to turn on or turn off the buzzer sound function.
  • Default is ON.
  • When the unit is turned ON or OFF, there will be a long beep sound.
  • When a function button is used correctly, there will be a beep to indicate the selection is activated.
  • When a function button is used incorrectly or if the controls lock is enabled, there will be a beep to indicate the selection is deactivated.
  • When the unit detects a fault, there will be a warning beep for 4 secs.

Error Codes

  • If the machine detects a fault, the panel will display a fault code, as defined in the table below.

Lid Closure

Note: The lid closure feature to prevent child suffocation and entrapment. The door buckle must be pressed to lock the cooler.

Care and Cleaning

NOTE: DO NOT allow stainless steel cleaner to come in contact with any plastic parts such as trim pieces, handle hardware and liners. If unintentional contact of cleaners with plastic parts does occur, clean plastic part with a sponge and mild detergent mixed with warm water.

Cleaning the Inside

  • To help prevent odors, leave an open box of baking soda in the compartments.
  • Unplug the cooler before cleaning. If this is not practical, wring excess moisture out of sponge or cloth when cleaning around switches, lights or controls.
  • Use warm water and baking soda solution—about a tablespoon (15 ml) of baking soda to a quart (1 liter) of water. This both cleans and neutralizes odors. Rinse and wipe dry.
  • After cleaning the door gaskets, apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly to the door gaskets at the hinge side. This helps keep the gaskets from sticking and bending out of shape.

Replacing the Lights

  • LED lighting is located at the side center of the fresh food compartment.
  • An authorized technician will need to replace the LED light.
  • If this assembly needs to be replaced, call GE Appliances Service at 1.800.432.2737 in the United States or 1.800.561.3344 in Canada.

Preparing for storage

  • For long periods of storage between uses, remove food and unplug the cooler. Move the temperature control dial to the OFF position, and clean the interior with a baking soda solution of one tablespoon (15 ml) of baking soda to one quart (1 liter) of water. Leave the doors open.

Cooler Doesn’t Work

  • Check the power supply
  • Check the power plug
  • Check the fuse
  • Check the inclination angle of cooler

Freezing Food in the Cooler

  • Check the set temperature, it may be too low. Poor Efficiency
  • Too much of food storage, results in poor airflow
  • Check for door closure and for presence of any foreign particle, preventing door closure
  • Poor sealing, due to damage or deformation in door gasket
  • Poor ventilation by the cooling fan
  • Storing too much of hot food
  • Cooler being closed to hear source or solar radiation

Noise – Sounds Like a Water Flow

  • The slight water flowing noise in the cooler is acceptable.

Strange Noise

  • Could be an issue with cooling fan.
  • Components being loose in the cooler.

| Any part of the refrigerator which fails due to a defect in materials or workmanship. During the limited one-year warranty, GE Appliances will also provide, free of charge, all labor and related service to replace the defective part.

What GE Appliances Will Not Cover:

  • Service trips to your home to teach you how to use the product.
  • Improper installation, delivery or maintenance.
  • Failure of the product if it is abused, misused, or used for other than the intended purpose or used commercially.
  • Loss of food due to spoilage.
  • Replacement of house fuses or resetting of circuit breakers.
  • Damage to finish, such as surface rust, tarnish, or small blemishes not reported within 48 hours of delivery.
  • Replacement of the water filter cartridge, if included, due to water pressure that is outside the specified operating range or due to excessive sediment in the water supply.
  • Replacement of the light bulbs, if included, or water filter cartridge, if included, other than as noted above.
  • Damage to the product caused by accident, fire, floods or acts of God.
  • Incidental or consequential damage caused by possible defects with this appliance.
  • Product not accessible to provide required service.
  • Damage caused by a non-GE Appliances Brand water filter.

EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES
Your sole and exclusive remedy is product repair as provided in this Limited Warranty. Any implied warranties, including the implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are limited to one year or the shortest period allowed by law.

For US Customers: This limited warranty is extended to the original purchaser and any succeeding owner for products purchased for home use within the USA. If the product is located in an area where service by a GE Appliances Authorized Servicer is not available, you may be responsible for a trip charge or you may be required to bring the product to an Authorized GE Appliances Service location for service. In Alaska, the limited warranty excludes the cost of shipping or service calls to your home. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages. This limited warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
