Product Information
The GE ProfileTM 30 Built-In Touch-Control Electric Cooktop (model number PEP9030ST) is a high-quality, electric cooktop that features a sleek and modern design. The cooktop is designed to fit into a standard countertop cutout and features a 48-inch flexible armored cable for easy installation. The cooktop requires a 5-inch free area between the bottom of the cooktop and any combustible material, such as shelving. A free area is not required when installing a wall oven underneath the cooktop. The cooktop also requires a minimum clearance of 15 inches from the cooktop to adjacent overhead cabinets. Additionally, a filler trim kit (part number JXTR32B for black or JXTR32W for white) is available for use if your countertop cutout is larger than the dimension shown, up to 29-13/16 x 20-7/16.
The approximate cooking dimensions of the cooktop are as follows: 13 inches maximum depth of unprotected overhead cabinets, 3-9/16 inches at the front of the unit and 5-9/16 inches at the conduit location, and 1-3/4 inches minimum to the rear wall. The cooktop itself measures 29-7/8 inches by 21 inches, with a cutout size of 19-1/4 inches by 28-1/16 inches. The cooktop requires a minimum of 30 inches for a 30-inch cooktop, and a minimum clearance of 30 inches from the countertop to an unprotected overhead surface. The cooktop also has several features, including warm, power boil, high, melt, low, sync burners, Wi-Fi connect, Bluetooth connect, precision cooking, tap cookware set temp, timer cancel hold, lock controls hold, all off, and an optional filler trim kit.
Product Usage Instructions
- Ensure that the countertop cutout is the correct size for the cooktop. If the cutout is larger than the cooktop dimensions, a filler trim kit can be ordered.
- Ensure that the cooktop is installed with a 5-inch free area between the bottom of the cooktop and any combustible material, such as shelving. A free area is not required when installing a wall oven underneath the cooktop.
- Ensure that there is a minimum clearance of 15 inches from the cooktop to adjacent overhead cabinets.
- Connect the cooktop to a 240V or 208V power supply, depending on your electrical requirements. Check local codes for the required breaker size.
- Use the touch controls to select the desired cooking function, such as warm, power boil, high, melt, or low.
- Use the sync burners function to combine two burners into one large cooking surface.
- Use the Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connect features to control the cooktop remotely using a smartphone or tablet.
- Use the precision cooking feature to set a specific temperature for precise cooking results.
- Use the timer function to set a cooking timer and receive an alert when the timer is complete.

NOTE: 30″ Ribbon cooktops are approved for use over select GE 27″ and GE 30″ Single Wall Ovens and Warming Drawers. Refer to cooktop and wall oven/warming drawer installation instructions packed with product for current dimensional data. If installed with a GE Telescopic Downdraft System, consult both the cooktop and downdraft installation instructions packed with product before installing. Cooktop gas/electric supply may need to be re-routed to install downdraft. The countertop cutout requires 23-1/2″ minimum flat countertop surface and 25″ minimum total countertop depth. In addition, other clearances to front edge of the countertop must be considered. Before installing, consult installation instructions packed with product for current dimensional data.
CUTOUT FILLER TRIM KIT: A filler trim kit is available for use if your countertop cutout is larger than the dimension shown, up to 29-13/16″ x 20-7/16″. Order JXTR32B for black or JXTR32W for white, to reduce the cutout opening for installation of this cooktop. These kits may be ordered from your GE Appliances Dealer.
