Tips for rice cooking
Rice is a valuable source of complex carbohydrates with a natural starch content. We recommend rinsing the rice with cold drinking water until the water flows clean. This will reduce browning and the sticking of rice to the bottom of the container, but it can also cause the loss of some of the nutritional components of the rice.
By adding more water you get fluffier rice, by removing water you get harder rice.
Some types of rice require more water, such as wild rice, Arborio rice or short grain rice. Therefore, always adjust the recipe as needed. Follow the instructions on the rice packaging.
If you add a drop of olive oil to the rice, the starch will not form air bubbles. At the same time, the rice gets a better taste and aroma. It is also possible to add spices to rice, such as anise, cloves or saffron.
When cooking with large amounts of water, drops of water with starch may be splashed on the inner surface of the lid. For best results, rinse the rice before cooking and let the remaining water absorb in the warmth for 20 minutes after cooking.
