Application/Usage Areas:

The air purifier is suitable for use in private households, offices, and other indoor areas with normal air quality. Untreated room air normally contains numerous pathogens. This group includes mould spores, bacteria, animal hair and above all house dust allergens (mite faeces, excrements), but also heavy metals, soot and mineral fibres. Particularly on warm days or during the heating period, large quantities of these suspended particles develop and are swirled around with the house dust in the room air. After absorption via the respiratory tract, the particles then come into contact with our mucous membranes and trigger the known allergy symptoms. HEYLO air cleaners can significantly reduce the concentration of these suspended particles and gases in order to create healthy indoor air. The devices are typically used in the following areas: Private apartments, offices, conference and training rooms, schools and public authorities, surgeries and fitness centres. In all areas where people are present, the devices can significantly improve air quality. In areas where pathogens such as bacteria and viruses may be present, the risk of infection can be reduced.

Operating Instructions:
To operate the air purifier, follow these steps:

  1. Place the air purifier on a stable and level surface.
  2. Plug the air purifier into a wall socket.
  3. Press the power button to turn on the air purifier. The air purifier will start running on low fan speed by default.
  4. Press the fan speed button to adjust the fan speed to your desired level (low, medium or high).
  5. The air purifier also features a light sensor which enables it to automatically enter sleep mode when ambient light levels are low, such as during nighttime hours.

WIFI Function:
The air purifier comes with a WIFI feature that enables remote control via a mobile device, using the Heylo app. To use this feature:

  1. Download and install the Heylo app on your mobile device.
  2. Connect your mobile device to the same WIFI network as the air purifier.
  3. Open the Heylo app and follow the instructions to connect to the air purifier.

Air Quality Indicator:
The air purifier features an LED indicator system that reflects the current air quality in the room:

PM2.5 Value Indicator Color
Less than 100 Green
101-200 Orange
201-300 Red
Greater than 300 Dark Red

General aspects

ATTENTION: Always read before commissioning!

Please carefully follow the instructions in the operating manual. Non- observance will invalidate the warranty. The manufacturer accepts no liability for any damage or consequential damage arising from this.

The HL 800 is a mobile air cleaning unit. The air is drawn in from the environment and passed through a four-stage filtration system. The filter stages consist of a pre-filter, one 2in1 combination-filters for gases and particles as well as a plasma generator. The individual stages have the following functions:

1st stage
Prefilter A washable plastic filter is used as a pre-filter. The pre-filter filters coarse dust particles of more than 5 micrometers, such as house dust, scales, pollen. The filter can be washed out with water and can therefore be used several times. HEYLO recommends replacing the pre-filter annually.

2nd + 3rd stage
Effective formaldehyde filter The formaldehyde filter with activated carbon cleans the air of unwanted odours, gases and substances. It also cleans the air of harmful formaldehyde in a very short time. The substances are absorbed by the activated carbon and when the filter is saturated, it must be replaced. HEYLO recommends this every 6 months. In case of strong odour pollution, such as cigarette smoke, a more frequent change may also be advisable. Highly efficient HEPA filter (suspended matter filter) The HEPA filter filters airborne germs, smoke, and dust particles down to 1µm in size at a rate of 99% or more. In combination with the multifunctional filter, the HEPA filter can filter out microscopic particles with a diameter of more than 20 nanometres, including bacterial mould, dust, allergens, and some viruses. According to the World Health Organisation, the corona virus, avian flu virus, influenza virus and legionella bacteria are larger than 20 nanometres

4th stage
Ionization By applying strong electric fields, ionizers can electrically charge individual air particles and thus increase the ion concentration in the room air. The charged particles are more reactive and can thus destroy odour molecules and other pollutants. At the same time, differently charged particles attract each other and form larger lumps that sink to the ground faster and can be filtered out of the air more easily.

Putting into service / operation

OVERVIEW

Filter change (filter installation)

  • The main filter change is displayed by the device.
  • The pre-filters should be cleaned regularly at least once a month.
  • The filter display flashes every 3000 hours
  • After changing the HEPA filter, reset the display by pressing the “Filter” button for 5 seconds.

Disposal of the filters :
The filters can be disposed of in household waste. If the unit has been used in polluted air, the used filters must be packed airtight in bags and disposed of properly. In case of contamination with viruses, please allow for a waiting period in which the viruses can die off or wear gloves and protective mask (min. FFP2) when changing the filter.

Cleaning and filter change

Pre-filter

pre-filter (coarse dust filter)

  • Pre-filter for the main filters
  • Filter for specific large dusts up to 3 µm
  • Deposition efficiency 85-98% at 10 µm and 30-55% at 1 µm
  • Asorption of coarse dust

Cleaning and filter change:

  • The surface can be vacuumed with a vacuum cleaner.
  • The filter can also be rinsed with clean water, but it must be completely dry before it is used again.
Main filter standard

  • for suspended matter and particles up to 1 µm
  • separation efficiency 99.995 %
  • suitable for rooms with the highest requirements, in laboratories, industry and medicine.

Cleaning and filter change:
The surface can be carefully vacuumed with a vacuum cleaner.

Ionizer
The Ionizer is located inside the unit and cannot be replaced. The function is normally switched on. To switch the function off, press The “filter button” and the “mode button” until you hear an acoustic signal.

  1. tone : the function is on
  2. beeps : the function is switched off

Particle sensor
For the air quality display, a sensor measures the particles in the room air. This sensor should also be cleaned regularly.

To do this, open the flap on the back of the unit (Fig.1) and carefully wipe the sensor clean with a cotton swab.

Installation guidelines

For commercial use, the legal regulations of the respective country must be observed for the installation and use of the HL 800 air cleaner. In Germany the following regulations, among others, must be observed:

  • Workplace ordinance §§ 5 and 14
  • Workplace directive ASR 5
  • Accident prevention regulations VBG 43
  • Ordinance on hazardous substances of 01.01.2005

(available from: German Information Centre for Technical Rules (DITR) at DIN, Burggrafenstraße 6, 10787 Berlin). HEYLO does not accept any liability for damage which is caused by incorrect and irregular installation and use of the air cleaner HL 800.

Decommissioning and disposal

HEYLO units have been designed for many years of operation. If it has to be disposed of, the competent legal regulations have to be observed in environmentally-gentle manner The device can be returned to any specialist dealer for disposal free of charge.
