Product Usage Instructions: Chopper

  • Step 1: Before using the chopper for the first time, make sure you read and understand the user manual and supplementary documentation fully.
  • Step 2: Place the chopper on a clean and dry surface.
  • Step 3: Place the desired amount of food in the glass bowl.
  • Step 4: Place the spacer lid over the food in the glass bowl.
  • Step 5: Attach the chopper blade to the fixed shaft and place it over the spacer lid.
  • Step 6: Place the motor unit over the chopper blade and twist clockwise until it clicks into place.
  • Step 7: Ensure that the anti-slip base is firmly in contact with the surface.
  • Step 8: Press the operation button to start chopping. The chopper has two speed settings: Speed I and Speed II. Use Speed I for soft foods and Speed II for hard foods.
  • Step 9: After use, switch off and unplug the chopper.
  • Step 10: Remove the motor unit from the chopper blade by twisting it counterclockwise.
  • Step 11: Remove the chopper blade and fixed shaft from the spacer lid.
  • Step 12: Empty the chopped food from the glass bowl and wash it along with the spacer lid, chopper blade, and fixed shaft in warm soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly before storing.

Note: Do not immerse the appliance, power cord, or plug in water or any other liquids. Do not operate the appliance without food in the glass bowl. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scourers on any part of the appliance. Avoid touching the chopper blade as it is sharp. Keep out of reach of children.

  •  To prevent overheating, do not use the appliance continuously for more than 20 seconds. Cool the appliance for 2 minutes between each 20 seconds of operation.
  • To prevent injuries due to misuse, observe all warnings.
  • Misuse during emptying the bowl, cleaning or contacting the chopper blades with bare hands may cause serious injuries. Exercise caution by trying to hold the chopper blade only from its plastic part.
  • After cleaning, prior to energizing or assembling the parts, dry the appliance and all of its parts.
  •  Do not immerse the appliance, the power cord or the plug in water or in any other liquids.
  •  Do not operate the appliance or the parts on or near hot surfaces or do not place them on hot surfaces.
  • If you keep the packaging materials, keep them out of the reach of children.
  • Store the appliance and its power cord out of the reach of children.
  • Always use the appliance on a stable, flat, clean and dry surface.
  • This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:

Plug Wiring
The moulded plug on this appliance incorporates a 13 A fuse. Should the fuse need to be replaced an ASTA approved BS1362 fuse of the same rating must be used. Do not forget to refit the fuse cover. In the event of losing the fuse cover, the plug must not to be used until a replacement fuse cover has been fitted. Colour of the replacement fuse cover must be the same colour as that visible on the pin face of the plug Fuse covers are availabe from any good electrical store.

  • Fiting a different plug
  • As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals on your plug, proceed as follows:
  • Brown cable = L (Live)
  •  Blue cable = N (Neutral)
  •  Green/yellow cable must be connected to ground (E) line

 Operation

 Intended use

The appliance is intended for domestic use only, it is not suitable for professional use. The appliance is designed for chopping small amounts of solid food.

First operation

Clean the parts of the appliance before the first use (see 4.1).

Start Up

Place the appliance on a fixed and level surface, on the anti-slip base.
Remove the motor unit (4) and spacer lid (3) from the glass bowl.

Place the ingredients that you want to prepare into the glass bowl (3).
After placing the spacer lid (3) (with the silicon gasket facing down) on the glass bowl (1), place the motor unit (4) on the assembly.
Plug in the appliance. Run the appliance at the de-sired speed by pressing the operation button (5).

  • Place the spacer lid (3) right on the glass bowl. Otherwise, the motor unit (4) will not be placed correctly and the appliance will not run.
  •  In continuous use under 10 seconds, you can proceed using by a few second intervals until the process is completed.
  •  For softer food such as parsley or onion, one second bursts may be used.

When the operation is completed, stop pressing the operation button. Unplug the appliance and wait until the blade is completely stops.
First pull and remove the motor unit (4), then the spacer lid (3).
beko CHG 81442 BX Food Chopper 16 Hold the chopper blade (6) from the plastic part and re-move it from the glass bowl (1). Remove the processed food from the glass bowl (1).

  •  The internal section of the blade has a spring. You may feel a spring action as you place the blade on the fixed shaft. If you turn the blade a quarter of a rotation to the right or to the left, the blade would be fixed.
  •  To remove the blade from the shaft, turn the blade a quarter of a rotation to the right or to the left; then the blade will be released.

WARNING: Do not touch the blades with bare hands.

The table below provides a general view for various foods in terms of maximum amounts and the average periods for suitable chopping process. The recommended times and amounts should be taken as reference.

What to do for energy saving
Observe the recommended periods specified in the manual during use. Unplug the appliance after each use.

 Cleaning and maintenance

 Cleaning
  •  Prior to cleaning, unplug the appliance and ensure that the blades are completely stopped.
  • Never use gasoline, solvent, abrasive cleaners, metal objects or hard brushes to clean the appliance.
  • Exercise caution when cleaning the chopper blade (6); it is sharp.
  •  Do not submerge the motor unit or the power cord in water or any other type of liquid.

The glass bowl, chopper blade and spacer lid can be washed on the upper rack of the dish washer.

Unplug the appliance. Re-move the motor unit (4), spacer lid (3) and then the blades (6).
Use a slightly damp cloth to clean the outside of the mo-tor unit (4).
You can wash the glass bowl, chopper blade and the spacer lid with detergent and warm water. After cleaning, thoroughly dry all parts of the appliance.

 Storage
  •  If you do not intend to use the appliance for a long time, store it carefully.
  •  Unplug the appliance before storing.
  •  Store the appliance in a cool dry place.
  •  Store the appliance and its cord out of the reach of children.
 Transport and shipping
  •  During transport and shipping, carry the appliance with its original packaging. The packaging of the appliance will protect the appliance against physical damage.
  •  Do not put heavy objects on the appliance or its packaging. Otherwise the appliance may be damaged.
  •  If the appliance is dropped, the appliance may not operate or permanent damage may occur.

The appliance must be correctly installed, located and operated in accordance with the instructions contained in the user manual.! The guarantor disclaims any liability for accidental or consequential damage.

  • Documentary proof of the original purchase date is provided.
  • The appliance has been installed and operated correctly and in accordance with our operating and maintenance instructions.
  • The appliance is used only on the electricity supply on the rating plate.
  • The appliance has only been used for normal domestic purposes.
  • The appliance has not been altered, serviced, dismantled or otherwise interfered with by any person.
  • The appliance is used in the United Kingdom or Republic of Ireland.
  • Any parts removed during repair work or any product that has been replaced becomes our property.

  • Transit, installation or delivery damage.
