Vacuum Food Container, Canister, Storage Bag
- Press both Release Buttons and lift the Upper Housing.
- Connect the Vacuum Nozzle to the stopper of food containers, canisters, storage bags, etc. with a VAC Hose.
- Press VAC Button to start vacuuming. The indicator lights in the Transparent Window are flashing during vacuuming. After reaching a factory preset negative pressure, the machine will automatically stop vacuuming. You can also press the VAC Button again to finish vacuuming at any time.
Note:
- Food containers, canisters, and storage bags are not included in the package.
- To vacuum food containers or canisters, always leave 1 inch (2.5 cm) of space at the top.
Handy Tips
- Do not overfill the bag. Always leave at least 2-3 inches (6-8 cm) between bag contents and the sealing edge of the bag.
- Clean the inside and outside of the bag’s open end. Make sure the bag is dry. It is difficult to seal tightly if the bag is wet.
- Do not vacuum very wet items. Use paper towels to absorb water before vacuuming.
- For best results, perishable foods still need to be frozen or refrigerated after vacuuming.
- When vacuuming a large item, to prevent wrinkles in the seal, gently stretch the bag flat before placing it into the vacuum chamber.
- When vacuuming or sealing items with sharp edges (such as dry spaghetti, silverware, etc.), protect the bag from punctures by wrapping the item with soft materials. You may use a canister instead of a bag.
- Allow the appliance to cool for 60 seconds between uses to avoid activating the overheating protection. Keep the Upper Housing open to accelerate the dissipation of heat.
- If you are not sure whether your bag was sealed properly, simply reseal the bag.
- Do not reuse bags that have stored raw meat, fish, or greasy foods. Do not reuse the bags after simmering or microwaving.
Overheating Protection:
- NTC Thermistor smartly monitors the temperature of the appliance. In case of overheating, the protection mode will be automatically activated, and the indicator lights will flash.
- The appliance cannot operate at this time. Allow the appliance to cool down thoroughly before using it again.
Caution:
- If the bag melts, the Sealing Strip may be overheated. Allow the appliance to cool for 60 seconds before using it again.
- Do not heat-sealed food in a microwave. A sealed bag will likely burst when heated in the microwave, creating a burn hazard.
TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
If after reviewing the troubleshooting guide, the problem is not resolved, do not attempt to repair or disassemble the unit yourself. Please contact us at CustomerCare@thesecura.com for assistance.
- The device cannot vacuum:
- a) Make sure both ends of the Upper Housing are securely locked.
- b) Make sure the open end of the bag is placed into the vacuum chamber.
- c) Check whether the bag is punctured.
- d) Check whether the Foam Gasket is deformed or damaged.
- Air has been removed from the bag, but now air re-entered the bag:
- a) Check whether the bag is punctured by sharp items. Use a new bag if necessary.
- b) Check the sealed edge. Any wrinkle along the sealed edge may cause air re-entering. If that’s the case, simply cut the sealed edge and re-seal.
- c) If there is moisture or liquid at the open end, cut the bag and wipe it away. Then press the MOIST Button to vacuum and seal.
- d) If the food has been stored for a long time and the bag is full of gas, the food may have spoiled. It is recommended to discard it.
