Please read all the instructions in this manual before installing and using
the product.
Welcome to Joie™
Congratulations on becoming part of the Joie family! We are so excited to be
part of your journey with your little one. While traveling with Joie trill
high back child restraint you are using a high quality, fully certified safety
Group 2/3 child restraint. This product is suitable for use with children
weighing 15-36kg (approximately 3-12 years old). Please carefully read this
manual and follow each step to ensure a comfortable ride and best protection
for your child.
Please confirm
This child restraint is only suitable for use in the listed vehicles
fittedwith 3-point retractor safety-belts, approved to CNS 3972 or UN ECE
regulation 16 or other equivalent standards. This child restraint is approved
to CNS 11497 and UN ECE regulation 44, 04 series of amendments.

WARNING
! This child restraint is designed ONLY for child weighing 15-36kg
(approximately 3-12 years old or under).
! Do not provide it for children under 2 years old.
! Any straps holding the restraint to the vehicle should be tight, that
any straps restraining the child should be adjusted to the child’s body, and
that straps should not be twisted.
! After your child is placed in this child restraint, the safety belt
must be used correctly, and ensure that any lap strap is worn low down, so
that the pelvis is firmly engaged.
! The child restraint should be changed when it has been subject to
violent stresses in an accident. An accident can cause damage to the child
restraint that you cannot see.
! Concern the danger of making any alterations or additions to the device
without the approval of the Type Approval Authority, and a danger of not
following closely the installation instructions provided by the child
restraint manufacturer.
! Please keep this child restraint away from sunlight, otherwise it may
be too hot for the child’s skin.
! Child is not left in the child restraint system unattended.
! Any luggage or other objects liable to cause injuries in the event of a
collision shall be properly secured.
! DO NOT use this child restraint without the soft goods.
! The soft goods should not be replaced with any besides the ones
recommended by the manufacturer, because the soft goods constitute an integral
part of the child restraint
performance.
! DO NOT use any load bearing contact points other than those described
in the instructions and marked on the child restraint.
! Do take care to locate and install the child restraint so that it is
not liable to become trapped by a moveable seat or in a door of the vehicle.
! Failure to properly use this child restraint increases the risk of
serious injury or death in a sharp turn, sudden stop or crash.
! DO NOT use another manufacturers soft goods with this child restraint.
See your retailer for Joie replacement parts only.
! Consult the distributor for issues concerning maintenance, repair and
part replacement.
! DO NOT use in any configuration not shown in the instructions.
! DO NOT leave this child restraint unbelted or unsecured in your vehicle
because unsecured child restraint can be thrown around and may injure
occupants in a sharp turn, sudden stop, or collision. Remove it if not in
regular use.
! DO NOT use this child restraint if it has damaged or missing parts.
! DO NOT use this child restraint as a regular chair as it tends to fall
down and injure the child.
! NEVER use ropes or any other substitutes in place of seat belts in case
of injuries from restraint.
! DO NOT have your child in swaddled clothes when using this child
restraint, because this may prevent your child from being properly and
securely fastened by the shoulder harnesses and the harnesses between thighs.
! DO NOT use or install this child restraint until you read and
understand the instructions in this manual and in your vehicle owner’s manual.
! NEVER use a second-hand child restraint or a child restraint whose
history you do not know because they may have structural damage that endangers
your child’s safety.
! To avoid suffocation, remove plastic bag and packaging materials before
using this product. The plastic bag and packaging materials should then be
kept away from babies and children.
! DO NOT carry this child restraint with a child in it.
! DO NOT face your child restraint toward the rear of the vehicle.
! DO NOT install this child restraint on the front vehicle seat.
! To avoid burns, never put hot liquids in your cupholders.
Emergency
In case of emergency or accidents, it is most important to have your child
taken care of with first aid and medical treatment immediately.

Read all the instructions in this manual before using this product. If in
doubt, consult either the child restraint manufacturer or the retailer.
Weight and Height Limits
To use this Joie child restraint seat, your child must meet all of the
following requirements.
With back support (approximately 3 to 12 years old) :
Occupant’s weight between 15-36kg, and is between 96 and 150cm in height.
Vehicle seat shoulder belt must go through the shoulder belt guide and lay
across the child’s shoulders. 20
Without back support (approximately 3 to 12 years old) :
Occupant’s weight between 15-36kg, and is between 96 and 150cm in height.
Vehicle seat shoulder belt must go through the shoulder belt positioning clip
and lay across the child’s shoulders. 30
For Installation with 3-point-belt
- This is a ‘Universal’ child restraint. It is approved to CNS 11497 and UN ECE regulation 44, 04 series of amendments, for general use in vehicles and it will fit most, but not all, car seats.
- A correct fit is likely if the vehicle manufacturer has declared in the vehicle handbook that the vehicle is capable of accepting a ‘Universal’ child restraint for this age group.
- This child restraint has been classified as ‘Universal’ under more stringent conditions than those which applied to earlier designs which do not carry this notice.
- If in doubt please consult the child restraint manufacturer or the retailer.
For Installation with Latch System and 3-point-belt
- This child restraint is a ‘Semi-Universal’ child restraint. It is approved to CNS 11497 and UN ECE regulation 44, 04 series of amendments for general use in vehicles fitted with ISOFIX anchorages systems and approved to CNS 3972 or fitted with three point seat belt and approved to other equivalent standard.
- It will fit vehicles with positions approved as ISOFIX positions (as detailed in the vehicle handbook).
- If in doubt, consult either the child restraint manufacturer or vehicle manufacturer.

Assemble Head Support

- Flip head support and lower back support over as shown. 2
! Squeeze adjustment lever 2 -1 and slide two pieces together until they snap into place. 2 -2 ! CHECK to make sure two pieces are securely snapped together by pulling on them.
Assemble Lower Back Support

When attaching backrest to base, please press backrest down
strongly.“U”-shaped hooks on bottom of backrest will interlock with bars on
base. 4 ! Shake the backrest to make sure the recline mount is correctly
fixed.
! Do not use this child restraint base separately.
Assemble Side Impact Shield

Align the side impact shield with the slot of lower back support plastics
mounts, and then insert to lock. 6 7 The completely assembled child
restraint is shown as 8

If vehicle is equipped with ISOFIX, the vehicle lower anchor points may be
visible at the vehicle seat crease. See your vehicle owner’s manual for exact
locations, anchor identification, and requirements for use.

Place the child restraint in forward-facing position on a forward-facing vehicle seat with anchors, hook latch connectors to vehicle anchors.14
! NEVER put two latch connectors on one vehicle ISOFIX anchor unless specifically allowed by the vehicle manufacturer. -
Secure the child restraint firmly by pushing it downward with knee or hand while pulling the adjustment belt. 15

For ease of unhooking, extend the adjustment belt to its maximum length while pressing the adjustment button. 16! The latch connectors can be detached for use from the compartment on the bottom where it is stored. 17

Please make sure that the backrest of the child safety seat rests flat against the backrest of the car seat so that the child seat is under no circumstances in a reclined position. 18 19 Pull the vehicle safety belt and pass through the belt path 20 , and then buckle it up. 20 -3
! Position shoulder belt through the shoulder belt guide shown in 20 -1! DO NOT position vehicle belt over top of the armrests. It must pass underneath the armrests. 20 -2
! The lap belt must be low own on hips. The child restraint is shown as 20
! The child restraint can not be used if the vehicle safety belt buckle (female buckle end) is too long to anchor the child restraint securely. 20 -4 ! To ensure the correct head support height is obtained, the bottom of the headrest MUST be even with the top of child’s shoulders as shown in 21 and the shoulder belt must be positioned in the red zone as shown in 22.
! Place a child restraint firmly against the back of a forward-facing vehicle seat equipped with a lap/ shoulder belt.
! Have your child sit in a child restraint with their back flat against back of a child restraint.
! NOT as shown in 24 . Fasten buckle and pull up on the shoulder belt to tighten. ! If the belt lays across child neck, head or face, readjust head support height.
! Belt must not be twisted.
Without back support

Adjust backrest to flat position, then one hand to detach backrest as 25 to use base assembly independently.
! Please take good care of back support and head support. -
Check whether the shoulder belt lay across child’s shoulder in red zone 26 .
! Must use shoulder belt positioning clip when use base independently. -
Insert the end of shoulder belt positioning Clip webbing into the hole on the base. 27
! Please check the direction of shoulder harness anchor as 29 to avoid hurting child back if shoulder harness anchor is in the opposite direction.
! Pull the shoulder belt positioning clip webbing slightly to make sure the webbing fixed on the base. -
Make the webbing and clip wind round bar, then tension webbing. 28 29
! Slide shoulder harness anchor to adjust webbing length. -
Slide the shoulder belt positioning clip to make sure the clip is close to child’s shoulder, 30 -1 buckle the vehicle safety belt. 30 -3
! To achieve the safest installation, we suggest the shoulder belt positioning clip should be level with the highest point of the child’s shoulder.
! Through vehicle safety belt out from bottom of armrest. 30 -2 ! Ensure the vehicle safety belt is not slack or twisted.
! The child restraint can not be used if the vehicle safety belt buckle (female buckle end) is too long to anchor the child restraint securely. 30 -4 -

! The shoulder belt positioning clip must pass through the vertical bar slot of the base opposite from where the vehicle shoulder belt lays across the child. 31
! The lap belt must be low down on hips.
! Please store shoulder belt positioning clip on the bottom of base when not in use.

Detach Soft Goods

To refit the seat pad simply reverse the steps above.
Care and Maintenance
! Please wash the soft goods and inner padding with cold
water under 30°C.
! Do not iron the soft goods.
! Do not bleach or dry clean the soft goods.
! Do not use undiluted neutral detergent gasoline or other organic
solvent to wash the child restraint. It may cause damage to the child
restraint.
! Do not twist the soft goods and inner padding to dry with great force.
It may leave the soft goods and inner padding with wrinkles.
! Please hang dry the soft goods and inner padding in the shade.
! Please remove the child restraint from the vehicle seat if not in use
for a long period of time. Put the child restraint in a cool, dry place and
somewhere your child cannot access it.
