SHKR100 Pillow Shaker for Midland Weather Alert Radios

Set-up

  1. Install the batteries.
  2. Remove the battery cover*
  3. install 2 AA batteries (Included) observing polarity
  4. You wm get 2 quick Pulses, to confirm the batteri1es are installed correctly.

  6. Install the Pillow clip into the Clip loop
  7. Connect the 3.5 1mm jack on the SHKR100 cable to the External Alert Jack input of your Midland Weather Alert radio (WR.120EZ example shown).SHKR100 Pillow Shaker for Midland Weather Alert Radios fig \(3\)
  8. Place the SHKR 100 under your pillow. and secure it in position using the pillow clip.SHKR100 Pillow Shaker for Midland Weather Alert Radios fig \(4\)

How it Works

  1. The SHKR100 will vibrate for 5 seconds on and 5 seconds off when the Midland weather radio is activated by a National Weather Service alert broadcast. The vibration sequence will continue for the duration of the NWS alert.
  2. When the batteries are low, the SHKR100 will vibrate for 1 second on – one second off, for three times every 30 seconds.
  3. The SHKR100 will continue to work until the batteries are fully dead but they should be replaced as soon as possible to avoid missing an important alert.
  4. It is recommended that you replace the batteries on a
  5. regular s.chedule, similar to that of a smoke detector.
  6. The SHKR100 may be compatible with other radios that provide a ground signal to complete the circuit of an external accessory. Check your radio’s owner’s manual or with the radio’s manufacturer to see if it provides this type of output.

Tips

  • Pillow types are important. For example, memory foam pillows are very dense and you may not feel the vibration as strongly as using a feather or down pillow.
  • Placement is important.
  • Placement under your pillow is the recommended position, but you may find that a different placement may work better for you. Suggestions include placing it on top of the pillow, inside the pillow case or over a headboard. You can use the Alert Test function of the Midland Weather Alert radio to try different locations until you find the one best suited for you. (See the weather alert radio owner’s manual for alert test instructions).

LIMITED WARRANTY

  • Midland Radio Corporation will repair or replace, at its option without charge, an SHKR 100 which fails due to a defect in material or workmanship within One Year following the initial consumer purchase.
  • This warranty does not apply to water damage, battery leak or abuse. Accessories have a 90-day warranty from the date of purchase, including any antennas, batteries, or chargers. or headsets/earphones. This warranty does not include the cost of labor for removal or re-installation of the product in a vehicle or other mounting.

Set-up

  6. Remove the backing from the Velcro strip and mount the STR180 to a place that will give you high visibility.

How it Works

  1. The STR180 will flash continuously when the Midland weather radio is activated by a National Weather Service alert broadcast. It will continue to flash for the duration of the NWS alert.
  2. When the batteries are low, the center LED of the STR180 will flash once every 5 minutes.
  3. The STR180 will continue to work until the batteries are fully depleted but they should be replaced as soon as possible to avoid missing an important alert.
  4. It is recommended that you replace the batteries on a regular schedule, similar to that of a smoke detector.
  5. The STR180 may be compatible with other radios that provide a ground signal to complete the circuit of an external accessory. Check your radio’s owner’s manual or with the radio’s manufacturer to see if it provides this type of output.
