mode.
Important
· Unstable light sources may still cause flickering on the screen, even if
[Auto (Flickerless)] or [Auto (Flickerless2)] is selected.
[Auto (Shutter-priority AE)] Automatically adjusts the aperture and gain
according to the specified [Shutter Speed]. [Auto (Aperture-priority AE)] HM4x
Automatically adjusts the gain and shutter speed according to the specified
[Aperture]. [Manual] Manually set [Shutter Speed], [Aperture] ( HM4x ), and
[Gain]. [AGC Limit] Select the upper limit value of Auto Gain Control (AGC)
for increasing gain to brighten video in low light conditions. The higher the
value, the higher the sensitivity will become, but video noise will increase.
Important
· Minimum subject illumination may change when [AGC Limit] is set.
Note
· When [Use WDR] is set to [Enable], the values that can be set are limited.
[Shutter Speed Limit (Lower)] If [Exposure] is set to one of the following
[Auto], [Auto (Flickerless)], [Auto (Flickerless2)] ( S32VE S32D S820D/S920F
), or [Auto (Aperture-priority AE)] ( HM4x ), the lowest shutter speed can be
selected.
Important · When [Exposure] is set to [Auto (Flickerless)] or [Auto
(Flickerless2)] ( S32VE S32D S820D/S920F ), a speed faster than 1/50 sec.
(at system frequency 60 Hz) or 1/30 sec. (at system frequency 50 Hz) cannot be
selected.
[Shutter Speed Limit (Upper)] If [Exposure] is set to [Auto], [Auto
(Flickerless)], or [Auto (Aperture-priority AE)] ( HM4x ), the highest shutter
speed can be selected.
63
Important
· A speed slower than [Shutter Speed Limit (Lower)] cannot be selected. · When
[Exposure] is set to [Auto (Flickerless)], a speed slower than 1/100 sec. (at
system frequency 60 Hz) or 1/120 sec. (at system
frequency 50 Hz) cannot be selected.
[Shutter Speed] If [Exposure] is set to [Auto (Shutter-priority AE)] or
[Manual], the shutter speed can be fixed.
Important
· Setting a slow shutter speed may prevent the intelligent function from
working correctly. Select a shutter speed that suits the scene to be captured
and the purpose.
Note
· Slower shutter speeds generate residual images in video when capturing a
moving subject. · When capturing a moving subject, selecting a higher shutter
speed can reduce blurry video capture.
[Aperture] HM4x If [Auto (Aperture-priority AE)] or [Manual] is selected for
[Exposure], set a desired aperture. Moving the slider to the left closes the
aperture and darkens the image. Moving the slider to the right opens the
aperture and brightens the image. [Gain] If [Manual] is selected for
[Exposure], set the sensitivity according to brightness. Moving the slider to
the left darkens the video, and moving it to the right brightens video.
[Exposure Compensation] When [Exposure] is set to other than [Manual], the
brightness of the video can be adjusted by selecting the exposure compensation
value. [Metering Mode] When [Exposure] is set to other than [Manual], it is
possible to select a metering mode.
Important
· When [Use WDR] is set to [Enable], fixed to [Specify Area].
[Center-Weighted] Performs photometry with the entire screen center-weighted.
Even if there is a slight difference in light and dark around the screen,
subjects near the center will have the appropriate exposure. Use this when the
subject is near the center of the screen. [Average] Performs photometry evenly
on the entire screen. This enables to obtain stable exposure even in shooting
environments with large differences in light and dark on the screen. Use this
to stabilize the exposure for scenes when cars are passing or people are
entering and exiting. [Spot] Performs photometry on the center of the screen.
This enables to obtain the appropriate exposure for subjects in the center of
the screen, regardless of differences in light and dark around the screen. Use
this to adjust the exposure on the center of the screen when the subject is
hit by spotlights or backlit. [Specify Area] Controls to achieve the optimal
brightness in the specified area. Frame’s position and size displayed on the
video display area can be set as desired.
64
Follow the steps below. 1. When [View] is clicked with the zoom at its widest
angle, a
frame appears in the video display area. 2. Set the frame to any area.
· Drag inside the frame to move the area. · Drag the corner to change the
size.
Important
· The frame cannot be displayed in the digital zoom area.
Note
· Frames may not be specified at the top, bottom, left and right edges of the
video display area.
[Smart Shade Control] Select whether to enable the Smart Shade Control
function. If the background is bright and the subject is hard to see, by using
the Smart Shade Control, dark areas are automatically compensated be bright to
improve subject visibility.
Important
· When [Use WDR] is set to [Enable], fixed to [Auto].
Note
· The video data size increases if the Smart Shade Control is set.
[Haze Compensation] Select whether to enable the Haze Compensation function.
If the subject is obscured by haze, by using the Haze Compensation function,
the video contrast is adjusted automatically to improve subject visibility.
The strength of compensation can be changed by [Video] > [Picture (Option)] >
[Camera Control] > [Haze Compensation Strength (Auto)] (P. 76).
Note
· The video data size may increase by setting the Haze Compensation.
[Day/Night] Select a shooting mode according to the brightness of the
installation environment.
[Auto] The camera automatically switches to Day Mode or Night Mode according
to the ambient brightness. [Day Mode] Captures normal color video. [Night
Mode] Video turns to monochrome. Removes the infrared cut filter to increase
sensitivity. HM4x
65
Important
· When using in [Auto], note the following. Conduct a thorough operation
test beforehand to check the effectiveness of the setting.
Set [Exposure] to one of the following [Auto], [Auto (Flickerless)], [Auto
(Flickerless2)] ( S32VE S32D S820D/S920F ), [Auto (Shutter-priority AE)], or
[Auto (Aperture-priority AE)] ( HM4x ).
The infrared cut filter may reciprocate several times while the mode is
switching between Day Mode and Night Mode. It will not be
possible to use pan, tilt, zoom and manual focus during this period. HM4x
· If the Viewer is closed while [Day Mode] or [Night Mode] is set, these will
remain in effect, even if [Day/Night] is set to [Auto] on the Settings page.
To enable Auto Day/Night mode, set [Day/Night] to [Auto] before exiting the
Viewer.
· If an infrared illumination from an external device is used when set to
Night Mode, turn on the infrared illumination before switching to
Night Mode. HM4x
· The camera is equipped with an infrared cut filter without insertion-
extraction mechanism, thus unable to obtain the infrared illumination
effect. S32VE S32D S820D/S920F
