Operation
D-Tap
Up to 10A of output for a maximum power of 160W.
Can be used for charging or discharging.
V-Mount
Standard 5-pin V-mount with up to 10A of output for a maximum power of
160W. Can be used for charging or discharging.
USB-C
The USB-C port supplies the following volatage and current combinations.
Max power of 60W bidirectional Input /Output
(5V 3A / 9V 3A / 12V 3A / 20V 3A).
Can be used for charging or discharging.
USB-A
The USB-A port supplies the following volatage and current combinations.
Max power of 18W Output
(5V 2.4A / 9V 2A / 12V 1.5A).
Can only be used for discharging.
USB ports can be disabled with a double tap of the power button and activated with a single tap. During active use a magenta light will illuminate on the far right indicator light.
Charging
It is recommended to charge this 14.8V Battery with the Westcott 14.8V D-Tap Battery Charger #7146 or Westcott USB-C Charger. Charging current should not exceed 10A.
Estimated charge time from fully discharged will vary based on charger power output. Westcott 14.8V D-Tap Battery Charger will charge in approximately 150 minutes. 60W USB-C charger will charge in approximately 120 minutes.
This battery has a life of 300+ charge cycles. One charge cycle is equivalent to one full charge, full discharge, and full recharge. The battery should not be charged in temperatures below 0° (32°F).
Discharging
The battery typically holds 30% of its capacity when packaged and can be used at once. It can reach full capacity after it has been fully charged and discharged at least two times.
The battery can be used in ambient temperature of -20°C to 50°C (-4°F to
122°F). Please note, while Li-ion performs better in lower temperature than
other battery chemistries, the operating time will be shorter in lower
temperature conditions. It will also vary with the power consumption of the
equipment connected and the condition of the battery.
If the temperature of the battery is below -20°C (-4°F), discharge may stop.
Storage
Storage temperature range is -20°C to 60°C (-4°F to 140°F). For prolonging battery life, 0°C to 20°C (32°F to 68°F) is recommended.
The battery should be stored between 50-80% state of charge (SOC).
For long-term storage check the battery every three months and charge as
necessary. After storage, while Li-ion is better than other battery
chemistries, some self-discharge will occur, before reuse it is advisable to
fully recharge the battery.
Warranty
Warranty obligations for this product are limited to the following terms.
The F.J. Westcott Co. (“Westcott”) warrants this Westcott branded product
against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for a period of
ONE (1) YEAR from the date of retail purchase from Westcott or an authorized
retailer by the original end-user purchaser (“Warranty Period”). If a defect
arises and a valid claim is received within the Warranty Period, at its option
and to the extent permitted by law, Westcott will either (1) repair the defect
at no charge, using new or refurbished replacement parts, or (2) exchange the
product with a product that is new or which has been manufactured from new or
serviceable used parts and is at least functionally equivalent to the original
product. This Limited Warranty applies only to products manufactured by or for
Westcott that can be identified by the Westcott trademark, trade name, or logo
affixed to them.
This warranty does not apply to: (a) damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, flood, fire, earthquake, mold, or other external causes; (b) damage caused by operating the product outside the permitted or intended uses described by Westcott; (c) a product or part that has been modified to alter functionality or capability without the written permission of Westcott; or (d) cosmetic damage, including but not limited to scratches, dents and broken plastic.

Please contact Westcott’s Repair Department for a Return Authorization Number “RMA” prior to requesting warranty service. This RMA must be clearly written on the outside of the box to the left of the shipping label. Items sent in without pre-authorization or that do not fall under the limited warranty will be returned at the expense of the sender.
