- Fig. A: Do not leave branch stubs after cutting. There is risk of disease transmission!
- Fig. B: Prune young sprouts only a few centimetres over the bud. First make a rough cut to remove the branch and then cut precisely at the desired position.
- Fig. C: Cuts for increasing growth of the plant should only be carried out on young plants.
- Fig. D: Heading back resp. thinning-out cuts should only be carried out on old plants.

Please note the following safety notes to avoid malfunctions, damage or physical injury:
- Please read this manual carefully and use the device only according to this manual.
- Dispose of used packaging material carefully or store it out of the reach of children. There is a danger of suffocation!
- Persons with limited physical, sensorial or mental abilities are not allowed to use the device, unless they are supervised and briefed for their safety by a qualified person.
- The pruner does not belong in the hands of children. Be especially careful when using the tree pruner while children are close by. Store the pruner out of reach of children.
- Caution risk of injuries! Do not touch the blade of the pruner.
- When not using the tree pruner, lock the blade.
- Protect the pruner from moisture and persistent dirt.
- Only cut wood and vine shoots with the pruner. Do not cut any other material.
- Do not exceed the max. cutting thickness for dry wood and for soft, fresh branches.
- Do not use the tree pruner on a ladder. There is danger of falling due to double-handed work.
- Wear protective clothing such as safety helmet, protective goggles, gloves and sturdy shoes.
- Do not operate the unit in the vicinity of electrical power lines. Have sufficient distance to above ground electrical lines.
Operation
- Open the pruning shears by sliding the lock aside (in direction to the arrow).
- Pull out the movable handle up to the end in order to open the blade. Slightly pull back the movable handle until the ratchet mechanism audibly engages in the first position.
- Move the handle up to the detent forth and back (dotted line) in order to close the blade.
- For adjusting the length of the handle, press down the knob labelled with “Press”. Keep the knob pressed while pulling the handle to the desired working length. The handle has totally 6 latching positions.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Clean the pruning shears after each use. Remove dirt and leaves etc. from the blade and the ratchet mechanism in order to ensure proper function. Oil the blade and the ratchet mechanism from time to time. For sharpening the blade you can use a hand sharpening tool. Clean the pruning shears with a dry cloth or a hand broom. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or chemicals for cleaning the shears.
Storing
- Protect the pruning shears from influence of weather like rain and store the pruning shears in a dry location.
- Keep the pruning shears with completely closed blade, engage the lock and cover the blade with the protection cover.
