Assembly and Using

  1. Place the watering bag around the log and close the zipper.
  2. Fill the watering bag with approx. 10 litres of clean water.
  3. Lift the watering bag by the upper loops to correctly position the watering holes on the bottom.
  4. Fill the watering bag completely with clean water.

Function Principle
The water flows through the watering bag directly to the root area of the tree.
This way, the water is slowly released into the soil and continuously moistens it.
The dripping time is several hours (approx. 5 – 8 hours with complete filling).

Intended Use

The tree watering bag is suitable for the following applications (in combination with liquid fertiliser):

  • for mobile irrigation of new planting and existing trees,
  • for maintaining the soil moisture during extreme drought,
  • for planting and transplanting trees and shrubs,
  • for rapid strengthening and stimulation of root growth,
  • during the maintenance steps to promote growth,
  • to reduce the effects of root loss,
  • to remedy various defects (e.g. road salt damage),
  • to reduce the effects of severe root loss (e.g. during excavations),
  • after strong tree surgery,
  • to supplement location-improving measures,
  • to improve the natural defence system,
  • to increase vitality,
  • after unsealing root surfaces.

General Notes

  • The tree watering bag is not intended for permanent installation. Only use the bag for 2 – 3 watering seasons. If the tree has adapted or has survived the dry season, please empty the watering bag, dismantle it and store it cleaned in a frost-proof and dry place. The irrigation bag is reusable.
  • In the first three years after planting, the watering bag should be used. During this period, from April/May – August/September (depending on soil moisture situation and natural precipitation) the watering bag should be used as follows:

Trunk Circumference| Frequency| Trunk Circumference| Frequency
---|---|---|---
Up to 18 cm| 1x per Week| From 40 cm | 1x per Week
Up to 30 cm| 2x per Week| From 60 cm
| 2x per Week

For larger trunk circumferences, take two tree watering bags and fasten them together with the zippers.

Fill the watering bag only with clear, clean water! If there is no clean water, filter the water (e.g. with a cotton cloth) at the end of the hose.

  • When using liquid fertiliser, first mix the fertiliser with water and then pour the solution filtered into the tree watering bag.
  • If the holes become clogged, remove the watering bag and clean the holes thoroughly before repositioning it. Hint: If necessary, cover the ground with bark mulch for a few centimetres to prevent the soil from clogging the holes.
  • For newly planted trees, mount the watering bag so that the bag cannot displace/crush the newly planted tree. Pay particular attention to a secure position of the watering bag on slopes. For old trees, always install the watering bag on a slope uphill.
  • For the use of liquid fertiliser in the watering bag, please refer to specialist literature, as the choice of the fertiliser, the application periods and techniques must be specially adapted to the respective tree species.
