KERBL 70620 Connectivity Module
General
These installation instructions include instructions for use and safety instructions. Please read the instructions carefully and note the regulations and relevant information before putting the device into operation. Please keep these installation instructions in a safe place for later use.
Intended use
The connectivity module connects the Smart Coop control unit (item 70600) to the local WLAN, and allows all functions to be programmed and monitored via the “Kerbl App”. Misuse of the system for other purposes is not permitted. In the event of incorrect use or modifications to the device, the manufacturer’s liabilities are forfeited.
Safety instructions
Caution
Risk of physical injury and material damage if used incorrectly.
- Cables must not be crushed or twisted. Fire risk from short circuit.
- All electrical supply lines must be routed so that they are protected from the risk of being pecked and are not accessible to animals. Use only peck-proof materials.
- The cable for the product cannot be replaced. If damage occurs to the cables, the product must be scrapped.
- For connecting, use only the original cables, and do not modify them.
- Do not shorten cables or connect them, except by using plug-in connections.
- The module must be operated only with the Smart Coop control unit (item 70600).

Installation
Positioning:
The connectivity module should be positioned next to the Smart-Coop control
unit (item 70600), so that the connection can be made easily, using the
connection cable (30 cm).
Important: For technical reasons, the connectivity module’s connection cable
must not be extended.
Installation steps

Install the screw-in antenna on the underside of the module.

Always secure the connectivity module by hanging, using the installation screw included (hanging opening is on the back).
Important: When correctly installed, the antenna points down-wards. Under no circumstances install the module upside down, otherwise leakproofness is not ensured. -
Lead the connection cable for the connectivity module from below through the cable slot in the rear part of the control unit, and connect it to the intended plug-in location for the module (02 – CONNECTIVITY MODULE). Please comply with the information in the operating instructions for the control unit in section 6.3 Installing and Connecting the Modules.
Important: For technical reasons, the connectivity module’s connection cable must not be extended.
Configuration
Configure the connectivity module. The exact procedure is described in the operating instructions for the control unit (item 70600) in section 10 Connecting the Modules.
Maintenance and care
The connectivity module is maintenance-free. In the event of heavy contamination, the front can be cleaned using a damp cloth.
Disposal
Electrical waste
It is up to the operator to dispose of the device responsibly after its useful
life in accordance with local regulations. Consult the relevant regulations
for your country. The device must not be disposed of in household waste. Under
the terms of the EU Directive on the disposal of old electrical and
electronic equipment, the unit can be taken to local authority-run refuse
sites or recycling plants free of charge, or returned to dealers who offer a
returns service. Correct disposal protects the environment and prevents any
possible harmful impacts on humans and the environment.
