Maxxima MEW-R1450 Single Receptacle Outlet

WARNINGS

  • Risk of electric shock – Disconnect power at the source before installation.
  • If you are unsure about the installation or the maintenance of the wall light, please consult an electrician.
  • Do not make or alter any holes in the wiring enclosure or modify any electrical componentry.

CAUTIONS

  • To insure personal safety, proper grounding of the electrical fixture is required.
  • The fixture must be wired in accordance with the National Electric Code and applicable local codes or ordinances.

WIRING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Ensure power has been switched off before starting installation.
  2. If you are replacing an exisitng receptacle, remove and disconnect the old receptacle first.
  3. Expose the supply wires from the junction box.
  4. Ensure approximately 1/2in of insulation is removed from each wire.
  5. Connect each of the wires to the corresponding screw terminal on the back of the receptacle. With the green or bare copper wire connecting to the green screw terminal. The white wire (neutral) connecting to the silver screw terminal. Then connect the black wire (L1) to one of the gold screw terminals and the red wire (L2) to the remaining gold screw terminal. Shown in figure 1.
  6. Ensure each of the four screw terminals are tightened sufficently.
  7. Tuck the wires neatly iniside the junction box ensuring no wires are being pinched or damaged.
  8. Install the four provided screws to secure the receptacle to the junction box. Shown in figure 2.
  9. Install the desired cover plate (not provided).
