Safety Notes

  • If you do not plan to use the LED lanterns for some time, remove the batteries.
  • Do not continue to use the LED lanterns if the housing has become damaged. Do not disassemble the unit and do not attempt to repair it yourself.
  • Batteries and rechargeable batteries do not belong in household garbage. For battery disposal, please check with your local council.

Operation

Inserting/Replacing the Batteries

  1. The battery compartment of the LED lantern is located at the bottom side of the lantern. Press the locking latch in the direction of the arrow and remove the lid.
  2. Insert two new batteries of the type LR20 (D) into the battery compartment. Pay attention to the proper polarity of the batteries. The polarity is indicated on the battery compartment lid and inside the battery compartment.
  3. Reinstall the bottom plate on the bottom side of the LED lantern and snap it in place. Replace all three batteries when the light of the LEDs shines weakly or if it does not shine at all. Turn the black knob on the base of the lantern clockwise to turn on the lantern and regulate the light intensity. To turn off the lantern turn the knob counter clockwise until the lantern is turned off with an audible click.

Cleaning and Storing

Clean the housing of the LED lantern only with a dry or lightly moistened cloth. Do not use aggressive chemicals or abrasives for cleaning. Do not immerse the LED lantern in liquids of any kind. Store the LED lantern indoors at a dry place that is protected from dust, dirt and extreme temperatures. Store the LED lantern out of reach of children.

Safety instructions

Please note the following safety notes to avoid malfunctions, damage or physical injury:

  • Keep the LED lantern out of the reach of children. They are no toys and not suitable for children under the age of 8.
  • Protect the LED lantern from humidity and extreme temperatures. Avoid strong mechanical stresses.
  • Do not stare directly into the LEDs and do not direct the light beam towards people or animals.
  • Do not use devices which can strongly focus light for viewing the light beam.
  • Do not disassemble, burn, or short-circuit batteries and do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries. Always use batteries of the same type and dimensions. Do not mix old and new batteries.
  • If a zinc-carbon battery or an alkaline battery has leaked in the unit, carefully remove it from the battery compartment wearing gloves and remove residual liquid with a moist cloth. If necessary clean the contacts on the unit. Dispose of the battery according to the battery disposal notice. The cloth used can be washed or disposed of in the household garbage. If you do not plan to use the LED lanterns for some time, remove the batteries.
