SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Warning: The safety precautions and instructions in this manual do not cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur. We are not liable for damages caused during shipping, by incorrect use, voltage fluctuation or the modification or adjustment of any part of the appliance. To protect against a risk of fire or electric shock, basic precautions shall be taken while using electrical appliances, including the following: Use only accessories recommended by the manufacturer.

  • Observe the following precautions when connecting to the AC outlet using an adapter:

  • The adapter (not included in the package) should have the parameters listed in the technical data later in this manual.

  • Unplug the device during thunderstorms, prior to maintenance or when unused for longer period of time, if the device does not work correctly and if the device is damaged (f.g. by a fall)

  • Do not overload outlets, do not use extension cords or plugs integrated into other devices  to prevent fire or risk of electric shock. Do not attempt to repair the device yourself.

  • All servicing should be done by a qualified service technician.

  • In particular, unplug this product from the wall outlet and refer servicing to qualified service personnel under the following conditions:

  • Liquid or foreign objects have entered the product or it has been exposed to rain or other liquids.

  • If the product does not operate normally according to these instructions. Use the control elements described in this manual only; the improper configuration of other control elements can lead to damage and often requires extensive service from a qualified technician to renew normal operation.

  • ATTENTION: DO NOT REMOVE COVER OF THE DEVICE, RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK. THE PRODUCT DOES NOT CONTAIN ANY PARTS REPAIRABLE BY THE USER, CONTACT AN AUTHORIZED SERVICE.
    If batteries are used:

  • Do not expose batteries to excessive temperatures, e.g. direct sunlight, fire etc. Risk of explosion and injury.

  • Replace batteries only with batteries of the same type and with correct polarity. Otherwise there is a risk the system may explode.

  • Check them regularly for leaks. There is a risk of skin burns and damage to the device.

  • The device is designed for normal indoor environments.

  • Do not use the device near water and in wet locations such as near a pool, bathtub, kitchen sink, in a damp cellar, laundry room and so on. The device must not be exposed to dripping or splashing water, do not place containers filled with liquids on the device.

  • Do not expose the device to heat sources such as radiators, heating or other heat-producing appliances such as amplifiers. Do not expose it to direct sunlight or open flame.

  • Do not cover the ventilation or other openings or insert any objects into them. There is a risk of injury or damage to the device.

  • Keep a minimum distance of 10 cm from other objects for proper ventilation.

  • When the product is moved from a cold to a warm environment, water condenses inside, which may cause the product to malfunction and be damaged. Therefore, in such a situation, leave the product in warm environment without using it for about an hour to allow the moisture to evaporate.

  • Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the responsible authority can lead to loss of authorization to use the device.

  • Children shall not play with the appliance.

  • WARNING: To prevent possible hearing damage, avoid prolonged listening at high volume. Excessive sound pressure from earphones can cause hearing damage.

  • DANGER for children: Children may not play with the packaging material. Do not let children play with the plastic bags. Risk of suffocation.

  • Do not immerse in water! – Do not immerse in water!

SETTINGS

  1. Connect the supplied USB-C cable to the USB Type-C input and a USB source (not supplied) or open the battery compartment cover.
  2. Insert 4 x AA batteries into the battery compartment. Observe the correct polarity of the batteries marked in the battery compartment.
  3. Close the battery compartment cover.
  4. Extend the telescopic antenna and adjust its orientation for optimal reception.

Notes:

  • If the device is not used for long periods, remove the batteries to prevent battery leakage.
  • Battery life: If the sound from the radio is weak or distorted, or when it is difficult to read display of the device, replace the batteries with new ones.
  • The device does not have built-in batteries. If a USB cable is used, the unit will turn off when the cable is disconnected. It is also not possible to charge batteries located in the battery compartment using the USB cable.

WARNING:

  • If you buy an adapter for a USB cable, the recommended technical parameters are:
    • Input: 100-240 V AC, 50/60 Hz, max. 0.3 A
    • Output: DC 5 V 1 A, 5.0 W
POWER ON/OFF
  • Use the I / O button to turn on the device
  • When turning off:
    • brief press: the device remains in “Standby” mode (The display shows the date and time
    • long press: the device turns off completely.

SETTING DATE AND TIME
If DAB + stations are tuned in, the time and date are set automatically. If the DAB + signal is not available, set the time manually.

  1. Press the power button to start the system.
  2. Hold down the MENU / INFO button for 3 seconds.
  3. Select “System” using the / buttons.
  4. Press the ENTER button to confirm the action.
  5. Repeat steps 3-4 to make settings:
  6. Select “Time” and confirm.
  7. Select “Set. time / date. ”and confirm the time and date settings.
  8. Use buttons / to set hours, minutes, date, month and year and confirm by pressing ENTER.

After entering the date and time, “Time saved” appears on the display.

In the “Set. time / date. ” mode you can set other options using buttons / : 12/24 time format (Switching the time format 12 h / 24 h) and Date format (Switching the date display DD-MM-YYYY / MM-DD-YYYY)

DAB+ MODE

  1. Use the DAB / FM button to switch to DAB + mode.
    The radio automatically searches for available DAB + stations. To quickly search for all DAB + stations, press and hold the SCAN button or use the advanced options in the MENU.

  2. Use the / buttons to switch stations.

FM MODE

  1. Use the DAB / FM button to switch to FM mode. To quickly search for all FM stations, long press the SCAN button or use the advanced options in the MENU.
  2. Use the / buttons to switch stations.
  3. Hold down the / buttons to find a station.

SAVE AND LISTEN TO STATIONS IN PRESETS

  1. Hold down the PRESET button to save the station in presets. The display will show “Save Preset #:”
  2. Use the / buttons to select the preset number.
  3. Press Enter to confirm; “Preset # saved” is displayed.
  4. To listen to a saved station, press the Preset button.
  5. Use the / buttons to scroll through the preset stations.
  6. Press ENTER to confirm.

Quick save and listen to stations in presets 1 and 2

  1. Hold down P1 or P2 to preset the station. “Preset st. ” is displayed 1 Stored ”or“ Preset st. 2 Stored“
  2. To listen to a station stored in presets 1 or 2, press P1 or P2.

USING AN ALARM CLOCK

  1. Hold down the MENU / INFO button.
  2. Select “System” using the / buttons.
  3. Press ENTER to confirm.
  4. Use the / buttons to select “Alarm” and confirm.
  5. Select “Alarm 1 Setup ”or “Alarm 2 Setup ”alarm and confirm the setting.
  6. Alarm 1 Wizard 1”or“Alarm 2 Wizard” is displayed to turn the alarm on / off.
  7. After switching the alarm on, “Time 06:00” is displayed, confirm the setting of the hour and minute of the alarm time.
  8. “Duration” is displayed, confirm the alarm duration in minutes.
  9. “Sound” is displayed, confirm the alarm sound source: Tone (beeping), FM or DAB (radio).
  10. The alarm is now set and “Alarm saved” is displayed.

SLEEP FUNCTION
After activating the alarm, during the ringing, you can press Snooze to cancel the alarm and move it by 9 minutes until you turn the alarm off with the ON / OFF button.
To permanently cancel the alarm, you need to change the alarm setting from ON to OFF mode. Follow the steps in 1-5 above. Change the setting to OFF and confirm.

ADVANCED DAB + OPTIONS

  1. Hold down the MENU / INFO button to select the information to be displayed on the screen. For example: signal strength, frequency, time and date.
  2. Press / to select: Complete Scan (DAB + stations are searched for), Manual Tuning (Manual DAB + station tuning), DRC (Limiting the volume difference between stations), Delete (Deleting all stations with a weak signal), System (Changing system settings)

ADVANCED FM OPTIONS

  1. Hold down the MENU / INFO button to select the information to be displayed on the screen.
  2. Press / to select: Station search settings (All stations / Only stations with a strong signal), Sound settings (Stereo on / Mono only), System (Change system settings)

CHANGE SYSTEM SETTINGS

  1. Hold down the MENU / INFO button to enter the menu.
    Select “System” and press Enter to confirm.

  2. Press / to select: Time, Alarm, Backlight, Language, Factory setting:

MAINTENANCE

Cleaning the device

Make sure the device is completely switched off before cleaning. Clean the surface of the device with a slightly damp cloth. Do not use cleaning agents containing alcohol, ammonia or abrasive ingredients. Do not use cleaning sprays on or near the device.
