General safety
WARNING! Failure to obey these warnings could result in death or serious

Explosion hazard
- The appliance may only be repaired by qualified personnel. Inadequate repairs may cause serious hazards.
- Do not modify the appliance.
- Do not remove or replace any components of the appliance.
Health hazard
- This appliance must be installed in accordance with any national regulations in force in the country of use.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
- Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- Cleaning shall not be conducted by children without supervision.
Operating the appliance safely

Hazard of carbon monoxide poisoning
- Never use the parabolic heater indoors. The process of burning liquid gas produces carbon monoxide which accumulates inside enclosed areas.
- Use outdoors only

Explosion hazard
- This appliance shall only be used in an above ground open air situation with natural ventilation, without stagnant areas, where gas leakage and products of combustion are rapidly dispersed by wind and natural convection.
- Do not use this appliance if it is leaking, damaged or does not operate properly.
- Check that seals between the appliance and the gas cylinder are in place and in good condition before connecting the gas cylinder.
- Do not use the appliance if it has damaged or worn seals.
- Do not place chemicals, flammable materials or spray aerosols near this appliance.
- Do not operate with panels, covers or guards removed from this appliance without ventilation.
Fire hazard
- This appliance must be kept away from flammable materials during use.
- Do not place any objects on or against the appliance.
Burn hazard
- Accessible parts may be very hot. Keep young children away.

Safety precautions when handling liquid gas containers
WARNING! Failure to obey these warnings could result in death or serious injury.
- After use always disconnect the liquid gas container.
- Store liquid gas containers away from heating or cooking appliances and other light or heat sources in a well-ventilated area out of the reach of children.
- Never store liquid gas containers in unventilated areas or below ground level (funnel shaped holes in the ground).
- Never store liquid gas containers in buildings such as garages.
- Do not store liquid gas containers on their side. Keep liquid gas containers away from direct sunlight. The temperature should not exceed 50 °C
Intended use
The parabolic heater is suitable for:
- heating outdoors The parabolic heater is not suitable for:
- use as a cooking appliance
- operation in enclosed buildings, tents or awning tents
- operation in caravans, mobile homes or on boats
This product is only suitable for the intended purpose and application in accordance with these instructions.
This manual provides information that is necessary for proper installation and/or operation of the product. Poor installation and/or improper operating or maintenance will result in unsatisfactory performance and a possible failure.
The manufacturer accepts no liability for any injury or damage to the product resulting from:
- Incorrect assembly or connection, including excess voltage
- Incorrect maintenance or use of spare parts other than original spare parts provided by the manufacturer
- Alterations to the product without express permission from the manufacturer
- Use for purposes other than those described in this manual

Technical description
The parabolic heater Glow1 is a heating appliance with one burner. The Glow1 is designed to be connected to a butane propane mixture gas cartridge complying to EN 417).
The parabolic heater Glow2 is a heating appliance with two burners. The Glow2 is designed to be connected to a gas cylinder with a M16 x 1.5D threaded valve.
Heating intensity can be adjusted using the temperature control knob.

Setting up the parabolic heater
Finding a suitable location
WARNING! Fire hazard The location for setting up the parabolic heater has to meet the following requirements:

outdoors only
in an open, well-ventilated area which is protected from direct winds -
placing surface for the parabolic heater
- is made from heat-proof, non-combustible or non-flammable materials
- provides standing level on or above the ground
-
is solid, stable and flat leve
-
Place the appliance on a surface that meets the above requirements.
Connecting to a gas container
WARNING! Explosion hazard
- Only change gas containers outdoors in a well-ventilated area, away fromnaked flames, any other source of ignition and other people.
- Do not use the appliance if the sealing washer is damaged or worn.
- Do not try to detect gas leaks using a flame or a pilot light.
- Only connect the heater to an approved gas container type (see chapter “Technical description” on page 7).

If the heater is already fitted to an empty gas container, remove the empty gas container (see chapter “Disconnecting the parabolic heater from the gas container” on page 9).

Check that the sealing washer (fig.1, page 3) is in place and in good condition.
-
Close the control valve by turning the temperature control knob fully clockwise (see fig.2., page 4).

Place the heater and the gas container in an upright position.
NOTICE!- Take care not to cross thread.
- Tighten the screw connection by hand only.
-
Carefully screw the heater onto the gas container clockwise until the sealing washer meets the gas container (see fig.22., page 4).

If there is a smell of gas or you suspect a leak:
- Coat the connection, using soapy water.
- If bubbles appear, do not continue to use the appliance. Remove the appliance from the gas container and contact an authorized service agent.
Using the parabolic heater
Switching on
WARNING! Fire hazard
- Make sure that all air inlets and exhausts are kept free from obstruction and closure.
- The appliance must be operated no closer than 800 mm to the sides and 800 mm above all combustible surfaces, fabrics, flammable materials and persons.
CAUTION! Burn hazard
- Do not move the appliance during use.
- Do not touch the hot parts of the appliance during and after use. Leave the appliance to cool down properly.

Check that the connection between heater and gas container is tight.

Open the control valve by turning the temperature control knob a quarter turn anti-clockwise (fig.31., page 4).

Hold a lit match near the burner edge (fig.32., page 4). ✔ The burner lights.
NOTE
Do not open the control valve beyond the marking for maximum intensity to prevent unnecessary flaring and gas waste. -
Adjust the heating intensity by turning the temperature control knob (see fig.4, page 4).
Switching off
- Close the control valve by turning the temperature control knob fully clockwise (see fig.21., page 4).
- Make sure that the appliance is fully extinguished before leaving the appliance unattended.
Disconnecting the parabolic heater from the gas container
WARNING! Explosion hazard Only change gas containers outdoors in a well- ventilated area, away from naked flames, any other source of ignition, and other people.

Check that the appliance is fully extinguished, the control valve is closed (see chapter “Switching off” on page 9) and all surfaces are cool.
NOTE Make sure that you do not lose the sealing washer while unscrewing the heater. -
Unscrew the heater from the gas container anti-clockwise (see fig.5, page 5).
NOTE The gas container may be disconnected although some gas remains. -
Check the contents of the gas container by shaking the gas container. If there is a sound or feeling of liquid movement, the cylinder contains gas.

If necessary, dispose the gas container according to the instructions printed on the gas container.
Cleaning and maintenance
NOTICE!
- Never clean the parabolic heater under running water or in dish water.
- Do not allow water to enter the burner outlet.
- Do not use sharp or hard objects, abrasive cleaning agents or bleach during cleaning as these can damage the parabolic heater.
- Occasionally clean the appliance exterior with a damp cloth.
Storing the parabolic heater
WARNING! Explosion hazard
Do not store or transport the heater while it is still connected to a gas
container.
- Disconnect the heater from the gas container (see chapter “Disconnecting the parabolic heater from the gas container” on page 9).
- Store the appliance and the gas container in a cool, dry and well ventilated area free from direct sunlight, heat and ignition sources.
Troubleshooting

The statutory warranty period applies. If the product is defective, please contact the manufacturer’s branch in your country (seekampaoutdoors.com /store-locator) or your retailer.
For repair and warranty processing, please include the following documents when you send in the device:
- A copy of the receipt with purchase date
- A reason for the claim or description of the fault
Disposal
Place the packaging material in the appropriate recycling waste bins, wherever possible.
If you wish to finally dispose of the product, ask your local recycling center or specialist dealer for details about how to do this in accordance with the applicable disposal regulations.
