IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

When using electric products, basic precautions should always be folwed including the following:

  • a. READ AND FOLLOW ALL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
  • b Do not use seasonal products Outdoors unless marked suitable for indoor and outdoor USe When products are used in outdoor applications, connect the product to a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupting (GFC) outlet. fone is not provided, contact a qualified electrician for proper instaation.
  • C)Tnis seasonal use product is notintended tor permanent installation or use.
  • d) Donot mount or place near gas or electric heaters, fireplaces, candles or other similar sources of heat.
  • e)Do not secure the wiring of the product with staples or nalils,or place on sharp hooks or nails.
  • f) Do notlet lamps rest on the supply cord or on any wire
  • g. Unplug the product when leaving the house, when retiring for the night, orifleft unattended.
  • h This is an electric product-not a toy! To avoid risk offire, burns, personalinjury and electic shockit should not be played with or placed where small children can reach it. Do not use this product for otherthan is intended use.
  • j) Do not hang ornaments or other objects from cord, wire, or light string. Do not place lighting string on carpeting, drapes, funiture, or allowitto contactvinyl siding whle the power is on.
  • I)Do not perform any maintenance or troubleshoot for bad or broken lamps while the power is on.
  • m) Do not close doors or windowS On the product or extension cords as this may damage the wire insulation.
  • n Do not cove the product with cloth, paper or any material not part of the product when in use.
  • o This productis equiped with push-in type lamps. Do not twist lamps.
  • p ) This product employs overload protection (fuse). A blown fuse indicates an overload or short-circuit siluation. If the fuse blows, unplug !he product from the outlel. Also unplug any additional slrings or producls Iha! may be atlached to !he producl. Replace !he fuse as per the user servicing instructions (follow product marking for proper fuse rating) and check !he product. If the replacement fuse blows, a short-circuit may be present and the product should be discarded.
  • q ) Read and follow all instructions !hat are on !he producl or provided with !he producl.

INSTRUCTIONS USE AND CARE INSTRUCTIONS

  • a) When the product is placed on a live tree, the tree should be well maintained and fresh. Do not place on live trees in which the needles are brown or break offeasily. Keep the tree holder illed with water.
  • b) lFthe productis placed on a tree, the ree should be well secured and stable.
  • c) Betore using or reusing, inspect product careftuly. Discard any producs hat have cut,damaged,or frayed wire insulation Or cords, cracks in the lampholders or enclosures, loose connections, or exposed copper wire.
  • d) When storing the product, caretully remove the product from wherever it is placed, indluding trees, branches, or bushes, to avoid any undue strain or stress on the product conductors, connections, and wires.
  • e When not in use, store neatly in a cool, dry location protected from sunlight.

USER SERVICING INSTRUCTIONS

Fuse replacement: Most often, fuses blow because too many sets have been strung end-to-end.

  • a) Before changing fuses, make sure the set is unplugged.
  • b Grasp plug and remove from !he receplacle or olher outlet device. Do no! unplug by pulling on cord.
  • c Using a flathead screwdriver, open fuse cover. Slide open !he fuse access cover on top of allachmenl plug towards blades.
  • d Remove fuses carefully.
  • e Risk of fire. Replace fuse only wilh 3 Amp, 125 Voll fuse rovided wilh product).
  • f ) lose fuse cover. Slide closed !he fuse access cover on lop
  • g) Risk ol fire. Do not replace atlachment plug. Contains a safety device !use)Iha! should not be removed. Discard roducl if !he attachment plug is amaged.

Bulb replacement: Before changing bu bs, make sure sel is unplugged.

CAUTION

  • This slrin conlains lwo different types of Replaceable bulbs-sleady-illuminaling and fuse bulbs.
  • REPLAC ABLE FUSED LAMPS• 1denlified by !he while colored rin on the lamp base. There is one fuse bulb for each lighled circuil of 50 bulbs. Alwa s replace burned-out bulbs romplly. If a num er of bulbs are burned oul, extra stress is pul on !he remaining bulbs int e circuil. This may cause a dilional bulbs to burn oul premalurely. When a fuse bulb fails the enlire circuit will no! light.
    NOTE: Steady and Fuse bulbs are not interchangeable.

Replace Steady BuIb

  • Step 1: Grasp plug and remove from !he LAMP receptacle or other outlet device.
    Do not unplu by pulling cord. LAMP/-

  • Step 2 : Hold bulb by he plaslic base and WIRES pull bulb/base slraighl oul of sockel.

  • Step 3: Replace bulb with only 2.5 Voll, 0.35 Watt regular midget push-int pe bulb provided with product. Push spare bul /base assembly into sockel. Do nol lwisl bulb when inserling 1nlo sockel. If bulbs are !wisted, part of !he sel will not lighl.

If !he spare bulbs provided wilh !he producl have no plaslic base or !he plaslic base does no fil, first follow sleps1-2above

  • Remove the old bulb b straightening the bulb wires and ulling bulb straight from the base.
  • b Replace !he new bulb straightening !he bulb leads an aiming each wire into a separate hole in I e plastic base.
  • c) Make sure each bulb lead comes out an exil opening at the bottom of the plastic base. Now bend each lead u such !hat each bulb lead fils closely against !he narrow side of the plastic base.

Replace fuse bulb

NOTE: Fuse bulbs is secured in !he base wilh adhesive. Do no! atlempl to remove. Remove old fuse bulb and replace wilh only 2.5 Voll, 0.35 Wall fuse bulbs provided wilh producl.

  1. This lightin siring is rated 67 .2 Walts (0.56 Am s ), do not overload. Connect other lighting strings or decoralive ou fits end-lo-end up lo a maximum of 16 Walls (1.8Amps) tolal.     For Example: Lighting siring is raled 1 V, 60 Hz, 0. 6 Am s. 0.56 X 120 = 67.2 alls.Add the walla e of each light siring logelher !or a total of 2 6 Watts or less. (Do not exceed 216 Walls.)

  2. To reduce I e risk ol overheating, replace burned-out bulbs romptly. Use 2.5 Volt, 0.35 Watt lamps only.

  3. To reduce the risk of fire and eleclric shock: a) Do not instal on trees having needles, leaves or branch coverings of melal or malerials which look like melal, and b) Do no! mounl or support strings in a manner Iha! can cut or damage wire 1nsulalion.
