PRECAUTIONS
Please read carefully before proceeding*
Power Supply
Please connect the designated AC adapter to an AC outlet oft he correct voltage. Please be sure to use only an AC adapter which supplies~ 9V DC, 300mA, center negative. Unplug the AC power adapter when not in use or during electrical storms .Please only use the original power supply included with your device.
Connections
Always turn off the power of this and all other equipment before connecting or disconnecting, this will help prevent malfunction and/ or damage to other devices. Also make sure to disconnect all connection cables and the power cord before moving this unit.
Cleaning
Clean only with a soft, dry cloth. If necessary, slightly moisten the cloth. Do not use abrasive cleanser, cleaning alcohol, paint thinners, wax, solvents, cleaning flu ids, or chemical-impregnated wiping cloths. Interference with other electrical devices Radios and televisions placed nearby may experience reception interference. Operate this unit at a suitable distance from radios and televisions.
Location
To avoid deformation, discoloration, or other serious damage, do not expose this unit to the following conditions:
- Direct sunlight
- Magnetic fields
- Excessive dusty or dirty location
- Heat sources
- Extreme tern prelature or humidity
- High humidity or moisture

EQ:
Adjust the EQ of the drum machine quickly while switching between different device. 12 o clock position for EQ Off. The left part of EQ for low cut, for cutting the bass frequency while connecting to FRFR device; the right part of EQ for treble frequency enhancing, for enhancing the treble while connecting to non-FRFR device (instrument amplifier). -
SPEED:
Adjust the speed of drum machine, ranges from 40bpm to 260bpm, 12 o clock position for 120bpm; speed is set to global speed control as default, 1-7 slots will be set to the same speed. Or you can set the speed as preset mode, as each slot has its own different preset speed. -
.LEVEL:
Control the volume level of drum machines -
GENRE:
Control the style of drum machine, up to 11 different styles. -
SAVE:
Press to switch between 1-7 saving slots. Press and hold the SAVE to store the groove style into current slot. -
PATTERN:
Select the rhythm type of current groove style, up to 11 different rhythm types. -
Left footswitch LED:
Indicate the status of drum machine; On for pedal On; Off for pedal Off; Blue for drum machine running normally; RED ford rum machine with Fl LL variation. -
Right foots witch LED:
Right footswitch LED: Blink to indicate the speed of drum machine. -
Left footswitch:
Press to play/stop the drum machine in the normal mode; press to scroll up in the preset slots in the preset select mode. -
Right footswitch:
When the drum machine is stopped, press the right footswitch for several times to setup a speed via TAP TEMPO function. When the drum machine is playing, press right footswitch to add variation; press to scroll down in the preset slots in the preset select mode. -
Saving slot indicator:
Indicate the current selected preset slot. The color of the LED indicator shows the current selected song bank. You can press and hold the right footswitch to save the setting into the current slot. Rotate the GEN RE to switch between 11 different song banks. -
INPUT L (MONO):
¼” mono (TS) audio jack. Please use it for mono setup. (The left input of the stereo setup) -
INPUT R:
¼” mono (TS) audio jack. (The right input of the stereo setup) -
OUTPUT L (MONO):
¼” mono (TS) audio jack. Please use it for mono setup. (The left output of the stereo setup) -
OUTPUT R:
W’ mono (TS) audio jack. (The right output of the stereo setup)
Notes: The sound track of Drummer x2 is not stereo (The left output and right output of tracks are the same). The dual input/output design is for connecting with external stereo device. -
16.EXT CTRL:
1/8″ TRS jack, for connecting to external treble-footswitch control peda I. (Need to purchase separately) -
USB-C port:
Connect to computer for data transferring or firmware update. -
DC IN:
Connect to 9V and at least 300mA current draw (center negative) power supply. Original power supply is recommended to avoid unexpected noise.
Connection

Connect to instrument amplifier (mono setup)
Recommend to put the pedal to the last position of the effect chain to avoid unexpected effect for the tone of drum machine from the other device. -
Connect to instrument amplifier (stereo setup)
The sound track of Drummerx2 is not stereo (The left output and right output oft racks are the same). The dual input/output design is for connecting with external stereo device. -
Connect to FRFR device (parallel setup)
Setup for FRFR device via parallel setup. Drummer X2 does not need to be linked into the effect cha in, it can connect to the FRFR device (mixer, audio interface, FRFR amplifier etc.) directly for use.
Instructions
Preparation
- Connect power cord to the device, set up your instrument, amplifier, and effects.
- Adjust the EQ to 12 o’clock position.
- Adjustthe LEVEL to the minimum position.
- Press the PLAY/STOP foots witch to start the drum machine.
Now the DRU MM ER X2 is set to a “standard” status. Based on this standard status, you can start to explore and find the best result via adjustment.
Basic Functions
Play/Stop:
Press the left footswitch (PLAY/STOP) to start/stop drum machine.
Add variation manually (Fill):
DRUMM ER X2 has 121 different rhythm grooves, each of them has a
unique variation (Fi II).
The variation will not be activated during normal playing. Press right
footswitch (TAP//FI LL) du ring drum machine playing to add variation (Fill),
after the variation fin is hes, the drum machine will go back to the main
rhythm for play.
Notes: The drum machine is set to OUTRO STOP mode as default, the
variation will be added before the drum machine stops. Or you can refer to the
manual to turn off the OUTRO STOP function. Add variation manually (Fill):

variation (Fi II). The variation will not be activated during normal playing.

Notes: Details of the variation. You can add the variation in any beat of any
bar during drum machine is playing. The playing timing of variation depends on
the adding timing. For example, in 4/4 rhythm type, add variation in the
second beat of any bar. then the current bar will be 1 beat of main rhythm and
3 beats of variation(Fill). lfyou would like to add the variation (Fill) after
the time that¾ bar is complete, the variation will be added to the next bar
for play.
Speed Adjustment:
There a re four different methods to setup the speed of drum machine:
- Speed knob. Rotate the SPEED knob to adjust the speed, the 12 o’clock position for 120bpm, the speed ranges from 40 to 260bpm.
- Tap tempo. When the drum machine is stopped, press the right foots witch for more than 3 times to set up the speed External footswitch. User can set up the speed by TAP TEMPO function using the extern a I footswitch. Press the far-right footswitch for more than 3 times to set up the speed properly.
- Editor software. User can edit the speed of drum machinevia the editor software directlythrough typing a numberforthe BPM.
Speed Mode:
The speed mode is set to global as default, in other word, if the speed of one
slot changes, all the speed of slots will sync with the changed slot. You can
set up individual speed for each slot as well. Please follow the instructions
below to set individual speed:
Method 1: Power off the device, press and hold the right footswitch while
powering on the device. The LED of right footswitch will blink in RED for
PARTS mode. Repeat the procedure, the LED of right footswitch will blink in
BLUE for GLOBAL mode.
Method 2: Editor software. You can change the speed mode directly via editor
software through selecting the GLOBAL/PARTS in the speed menu.
Saving
DRUMMER X2 has 11 ban ks for saving. Each bank can be seen as a song, and the
slots inside it a re the different parts of the song. User can saved ifferent
rhythm types in different slots for used u ring perform a nee. The 1-7 LED
indicator shows current selected slot.
You can select rhythm type via the GENRE and PATTERN knob. Press and hold the
SAVE to confirm saving.
Notes: Those rhythm type which is store in the global speed mode, can
also be saved into the slots in the individual mode.
Switch Slots
DRUMMER X2 has 11 banks. You can switch between the slots in the same bank via
the instructions below:
Method 1: Press the SAVE button to scroll through the slots from the top to
the bottom.
Method 2: Press both footswitches simultaneously to enter slot switching mode.
Press left/right foots witch to scroll up/down between the slots.
Method 3 : Utilize the external footswitch to switch slots directly.
Please refer to the externa I footswitch pa rt for detailed information.
Notes: If you switch slots during the current slot is playing, the
switching will happen after current bar finishes rather than switching
immediately.
OUT RO STOP
DRUMM ER X2 has two different STOP mode. It is set to OUTRO STOP mode as
factory setting. In this mode, the drum machine will add a part of variation
before complete stop to get better experience of ending. You can turn off the
OUT RO STOP manually by following the instructions below:
Power off the device, press and hold the leftfootswitch while powering on the
pedal. The LED of left footswitch will blink in BLUE for O UTRO STOP Off; you
can repeat those procedure again to turn the OUTRO STOP On, the LED of left
footswitch will blink in RED.
Switching Banks
The device has 11 different ban ks for use. Follow the instructions below for
bank switching:
Stop the drum machine, press and hold the right footswitch while rotating the
GENRE knob, the number of GEN RE para meter indicates current selected bank.
The color of 1-7 indicator wi II change correspondingly while switching to
different bank.
External Footswitch
The DRUMMER X2 support external footswitch for control expansion. Please use
the treble foots witch con ne ct to the EXT CTRLjack via TRS cable.
You can switch slots, setup speed via Tap Tern po in any mode th rough the external footswitch.
Notes: It is recommended to use the TC Helicon SWITCH 3 or DIGITECH FS3X,
or any treble footswitch pedal that works with binary coding.
Factory Reset
Power Off the LOOPER X2, then press and hold SAVE button. Then power on the unit to reset it to factory set tings. All data will be cleared after factory reset.
- Connect to a computer via USB cable You can connect DRUMM ER X2 to a computer with the editor software installed to update the firmware. Connect the unit to a computer and select firmware update in the software ,the unit will then be booted to update mode. The instructions below are for booting to update mode manually:
- Power Off the DRUMMER X2 then press and hold both footswitches e Power On the DRUMMERX2
- The 1-7 LED indicators will blink chromatically to indicate booting to update mode
- Connect to a computer via USB cable
- Open the editor software and the update window will pop up
- Click on START to begin theu pd ate. Do not stop or power off your DRUMM ER X2 or your computer while the firmware is being updated. The update should only take a few minutes.
MOO ER Studio for DRUMMER X2 Editor Software
MOO ER STUDIO for DRUMM ER X2 is the specialized editor software.
Users can manage audio files and presets as well as perform firmware update
via the software. Please enter www.mooeraudio.com

System Requirements
Win: Windows 10 or higher

Connection
- Connect DRUMM ER X2 to a computer via the USB cable in the package
- Power on the unit
- Open the editor software and click the CONNECT button at the top
- CONNECTED will be displayed.
Software Interface
- Connection Switch: Click to connect or disconnect to LOOPER X2.
- Language: Click to select between Chinese and English.
- Theme: Click to select between dark mode and light mode.
- Update: Click to update the editor software or firmware update.
- Factory Reset: Click to reset to factory settings.
- Music Style: Select the drum machine music style.
- Rhythm Type: Select a rhythm type of the drum machine of current style
- Save: Click to save the changes in the current selected slo
- Time Signature: Shows the time signature of the current groove.
- Bar: Shows the number of bar of the current groove.
- Speed: Shows the speed of current selected groove. User can click it to type a number for the speed; you can set it to GLOBAL/PARTS on the menu right above
- Editing: Activate for mu I ti-selection function, you can select and manage multi pie files at the same time.
- Local List: The song list setting files in the computer. You can drag the file from computer to the DRUMM ER X2 directly; or you can drag the file from DRUMM ER X2 to computer area.
- Song List: It is listed by song banks. Rotate the mouse wheel, or drag the sliding block on the right ride to go through the save slots
- Slots: Slots for each song. (Saving slots)
Groove Play/Stop
Click on the ICON in the center to PLAY/STOP the drum machine.
Switch Slots
When slot A is playing, click on the PLAY icon of slot B, then it will switch
to slot B for playing immediately; click on the slot B (not the icon)
directly, the switching to slot B will happen after the slot A is finished.
Song Preset File Import/Export
Export
Method 1: Click to select a song in the device list area, drag it to
local list area to export it; Method 2: Click on the Edit icon, select multi
songs in the device list area, then click on EXP ORT to export them to local
list area.
Import
Method 1: Click to select a song in the local area, drag in to device
list area to import it; Method 2: Click on the Ed it icon, select multi song
slots in the device list area, then click on I MO RT, select file in the pop-
up window for importing. If more than one files are select, the files will be
import into the selected slot and those following slots in order.
