Application example
Location
P8AX surge protector must be installed in series on the coaxial cable:
- A. At the entrance of the building or cabinet.
- B. At the tower top, close to antenna interface, if necessary.
For critical applications, an additional protector near the equipment to be
protected is recommended.

Important notes
The following points must be strictly observed to insure the efficiency:

A. Equipotentiel bonding network: all the grounding conductors of the installation must be interconnected and connected to the installation network.

B. Optimized connection of the protector to the grounding network:
-
To reduce the residual voltages during lightning discharge currents, the connection of the protector to the ground network must be as short as possible (less than 50 cm) and has a proper cross section (at least 4mm²).

The “Feed-through mounting” type fits perfectly all these requirements.
WARNING : for good contact, remove carefully all paintings or insulating coatings. -
The product is rated IP66 (Protected from high pressure water jets from any direction). To enhance the existing outdoor rating, seal tape can be added to coaxial connection during installation

Maintenance
ATTENTION
- Installation must be performed only by electrically skilled operator.
- National electrical installation rules must be followed.
- The unit must be used only as surge protector and according the conditions described in this document.
- The device must be selected according to the application and the voltage (see Table 1).
- If the signal is interrupted, then the unit is defect and must be replaced
