A: For the side nipple
B: for the nipple in the back

Installation (Fig. 1)
Fusing is not required but only recommended when SPD is installed according to UL 1449.
Installation
- Turn off all power supplying this equipment before working on or inside the equipment.
- See Installation – Figure 1.
- Confirm M50 device is rated for your system by comparing voltage measurements to the Line Voltage on the product label.
- Install in accordance with article 285 of the National Electric Code.
- Confirm that the electrical terminals used to attach this device are identified for these conductors.
- Twist conductors 1/2 turn or more for every 12 inches of length.
- Keep conductor length as short as possible with no sharp bends.
- Do not loop or coil wires.
- Ensure a high-quality ground is in place.
Diagnostic Operation
- LED ON = Normal operation
- LED OFF (one or more) = Fault, check phase voltage and connections. If OK, replace the unit.
- Audible Alarm ON = Fault, check phase
Maintenance
**** ATTENTION!
- Installation must be performed only by an electrically skilled operator.
- National electrical installation rules must be followed.
- The unit must be used only as a surge protector and according to the conditions described in this document.
- Surge protectors must be selected in relation to a dedicated AC network (see Table)
- Dedicated fuses must be installed in the surge protector branch.
- In the case of the red indicator, the surge protector must be replaced.
