DOOR PREPARATION
- Separate template from instructions for ease of use.
- Fold template where indicated for 60mm backset and position on door with masking tape at required height.
- Mark hole position for bolt hole and lock and remove template prior to drilling.
- Drill 025mm bolt hole to a depth of 50mm, ensure hole is drilled squarely.
- Drill 054mm hole for lock, DRILL FROM BOTH SIDES TO PREVENT SPLINTERING.
REBAT DETAIL
- Establish vertical and horizontal centre of 025 hole drilled in Stepl.
- Mark out the rebate 58mm x 26mm centrally located over the bolt hole. (See inset)
- Chisel out the recess to a depth of 3.5mm.
- Mark and drill the two 03mm holes, 20mm deep. (See Inset)
FIXING AND FACEPLATE TO DOOR
- Before fitting the bolt, make sure the surfaces are smooth and even.
- Determine orientation of latch. Slanted face of the dead latch should face the direction of door closing.
- Insert the Dead latch and Faceplate and secure with the two 20mm screws provided.
SELECT AND FIT TAIL-BAR
PACKER FOR DOORS UNDER 36mm
- Important: If the door thickness is less than 36mm, locate the Spacer Ring under the internal side of the Rose before assembly to the door.
ROMOVING INTERVEL
- Remove the internal rose by using a twisting and pulling motion simultaneously.
INTERNAL LATCH ALIGNENT
- Rotate the turn knob into the horizontal position. Ensure the Latch Retractors face the edge of the door.
- Insert the Internal Lock Body into the door as shown.
INTERNAL DEADLATCH
- Ensure that the Bolt Prongs, Bolt Tail-bar, and the Internal Deadlatch Retractors engage together as shown.
SECURING LOCK BODY
- Select the appropriate mounting screws, 53mm long screws for doors up to 43mm thick, and 60mm long screws for over 43mm thick.
- Insert the Exterior Rose from the outside, with the cylinder facing upward as shown, and secure with the selected screws through the Internal Rose.
For ease of use separate instructions from template
Drill hole from both sides of door to prevent splintering of door face.
Tools Required
- 054mm Hole saw
- 025mm Spade bit
- Drill
- Masking tape
- Chisel
- Pencil
- Punch/ nail
- Phillips head screw driver
ANTI ROTATION DEVICE
- Check that the bolt operates smoothly by operating the turn knob and the key from outside.
- Drill through the two holes in the Internal Rose 9mm deep into the door, with a 3mm drill bit
- Tap in the two rivets provided to prevent rotation.
FIX OUTER TRIM
- Push the plated trim provided over the rose.
FITTING STRICK BOX AND STRICK PLATE
- Partially close the door and mark the position of the bolt on the door jamb. Mark and mortice door jamb to suit the Strike box and Strike. The recommended gap between the door and jamb is 3mm. Mark and drill 2x3mm holes 20mm deep for the strike screws.
- Insert the Strike box and Strike plate in position and secure with the 2x20mm screws provided.
FITTING STRICK
Important: When establishing the position of the strike, ensure that the Auxiliary Bolt is depressed when the door is closed.
FUNCTION CHECK SAFETY MODE
- By rotating the key 90° towards the door edge, the bolt is retracted, achieving entry whilst internal turn knob is free to exit.
- Indicator on the internal knob shows GREEN.
FUCTION CHECK SECURE MODE
- By fully rotating the key away from the door edge until it stops, the dead latch will now be secure on both sides of the door.
- Indicator on the internal knob shows RED.
- Note: Secure mode should not be used when people are inside the building.
FUNCTION CHECK HOLD-BACK MODE
- Hold-back mode withdraws the bolt allowing free entry from the outside and free exit from the inside.
- Internal turn knob is in the 45° position and the internal knob indicator shows GREEN.
- While the internal knob is in the 45° position, the key must be rotated away from door edge until it clicks -to activate hold-back mode. Internal knob indicator will show RED.
