  • The lights in this set are connected in two independent 50-light circuit. If one bulb is twisted incorrectly in the base, the 50 lights in that circuit may not light. Therefore, use caution when handling and removing product from the packaging so as not to loosen or damage any bulbs.
  • It is important to replace burned out bulbs with those included with this set (2.5 volt, 0.5 watts). If bulbs from another set are used, they may burn less brightly.
  • The light string should remain lit even if one or more bulbs are burned out, provided the burned out bulb is not removed from the set.

USER SERVICING INSTRUCTIONS

CAUTION: This string contains two different types of Replaceable bulbs- steady-illuminating and fuse bulbs.

BULB REPLACEMENT: Before changing bulbs, make sure set is unplugged.

REPLACEABLE FUSED LAMPS- identified by the green colored ring on the lamp base. There is one fuse bulb for each lighted circuit of 50 bulbs. Always replace burned-out bulbs promptly. If a number of bulbs are burned out, extra stress is put on the remaining bulbs in the circuit. This may cause additional bulbs to burn out prematurely. When a fuse bulb fails the entire circuit will not light.

NOTE: Steady and Fuse bulbs are not interchangeable

  • Step 1: Grasp plug and remove from the receptacle or other outlet device.
Do not unplug by pulling cord.

  • Step 2: Hold bulb by the plastic base and pull bulb/base straight out of socket.

  • Step 3: Replace lamp with only 2.5 Volt, 0.5 Watt super brightness midget push-in type lamp provided with product.

Push spare bulb/base assembly into socket. Do not twist bulb when inserting into socket. If bulbs are twisted, part of the set will not light.

If the spare bulbs provided with the product have no plastic base or the plastic base does not fit, first follow steps 1-2 above. Then:

  • Remove the old bulb by straightening the bulb wires and pulling bulbs straight from the base.
Replace the new bulb by straightening the bulb leads and aiming each wire into a separate hole in the plastic base.

  • Make sure each bulb lead comes out an exit opening at the bottom of the plastic base. Now bend each lead up such that each bulb lead fits closely against the narrow side of the plastic base.

Replace Fuse Bulb

NOTE: Fuse bulbs are secured in the base with adhesive. Do not attempt to remove old fuse bulb and replace with 2.5 Volt, 0.5 Watt fuse bulbs provided with product.

WARNING: Risk of fire. This product employs overload protection (fuse bulb) in each series circuit to provide overload protection in addition to the fuse(s) located in the plug. Do not replace the fuse bulb contained in this set with any other type of bulbs. Use only spare fuse bulbs provided with this product.

FUSE REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS

Risk of fire. Do not replace attachment plug. Contains a safety device (fuse) that should not be removed. Discard product if the attachment plug is damaged. The most common reason for a fuse to blow is due to overload from too many sets being strung together.

  1. Make sure the light set is unplugged.
  2. To unplug, grasp plug and remove from the receptacle or other outlet device. Do not unplug by pulling the cord.
  3. Risk of fire. Replace fuse only with 125 volt, 3 amp fuse (provided with this product).
  4. Locate the fuse panel on the plug. Slide the panel open to expose the  fuses inside (as shown).
  5. Remove fuse carefully. Replace the blown (darkened) fuse with the spare fuse included in this set. Close the panel completely by sliding the fuse access cover closed on top of attachment plug.

Connecting Sets End to End
When multiple products are connected together, do not exceed the lowest of the indicated maximum wattage on the cord tag near the connected product’s receptacle.

This lighting string is rated 48 Watts (0.4 Amps), do not overload. Connect other lighting strings or decorative outfits end-to-end up to a maximum of 216 Watts (1.8 Amps) total. If connecting to a Lighting String that does not have a Wattage (W) rating, {found on the cord tag within 6 inches of the plug}, calculate the wattage as follows: Multiply the current (A), which is on the flag-type tag by 120. For example: Lighting String is rated 120V, 60Hz, 0.2 Amps. 0.2 x 120 = 24 Watts. Add the wattage of each light string together for a total of 216 Watts or less. (Do not exceed 216 Watts.)
