CAUTION!
Important safety guidelines for this appliance

  • Please read the following user manual carefully and ensure that you understand the instructions.
  • Operate the appliance in accordance with the voltage specified on the appliance identification label.
  • Never touch the surface or the interior of the appliance during operation. There is a risk of burns!
  • In order to protect against electric shock, please do not immerse the cable, the plug or any part of the appliance in water or in any other liquid.
  • Supervision is necessary when the appliance is being used by children or being used in the vicinity of children.
  • Remove the plug from the power socket when the appliance is not in use or when you intend to clean it.

  •  Do not use this appliance with external timers or separate remote controls.

Initial use

Note: When using the appliance for the first time, there may be a burning smell and smoke generation when the heating elements heat up.

  • This is not a hazard or a defect. When using the product for the first time, wait until it has heated up and the smell has disappeared. It is advisable to use the appliance without dough.
  • Take the appliance out of the package and remove all the packaging material. Wipe the heating plates of the sandwich maker using a slightly damp cloth.
    Caution! Before cleaning or changing the heating plates, make sure that the appliance is not connected to the mains and has cooled down completely!

Changing/selecting the attachment

Disconnect the power plug of the appliance and wait for the appliance to cool completely before assembling or dismantling anything.
Caution! Do not allow the plates to come into contact with metal cutlery or other metal objects to avoid damage to the non-stick coating.
Select the desired plate (sandwich, grill, waffle) and assemble it as follows:

  1. Insert the two plates with the locking tabs facing towards the hinge and press the plates down into the holder until they snap into place with an audible sound.
  2. To remove the plates, press the button on the sides of the appliance. There are two buttons, one for the upper, and one for the lower plate.

Installation notes for the removable plates

  1. The lock in the “UP” position is for the upper plate.
  2. The lock in the “DOWN” position is for the lower plate.

Commissioning and use

This product is intended for domestic use only.
Caution: Never use the appliance with just one plate. Always make sure that 2 identical plates are inserted.

  1. You can apply some vegetable oil to the plates to make sure that you can easily remove the leftovers after baking.
  2. Close the lid and then lock the handle.
  3. Insert the mains plug of the appliance into the socket. The red “POWER” LED lights up.
  4. Switch on the appliance by turning the roasting/browning level regulator and select your preferred level of browning. The appliance then starts to heat up.
  5. When the heating elements reach their operating temperature, the green “Ready” LED goes out and the appliance is ready for use.
  6. Open the lid using the handle by opening the lock first.
  7. Please place the food item to be cooked on the lower plate.
  8. Close the lid and then lock the handle.
  9. When using the grill plates for sandwiches, make sure to use the handle to push down.
  10.  While the appliance is switched on, the green light will go on and off since the thermostat switches on and off to maintain the desired level of roasting/browning.
  11. The baking time depends on your personal taste. Experiment with the baking time and roasting/browning levels to obtain the best results.
  12. Stay near the appliance and check regularly to see if the food item is ready.
  13. Unlock and lift the handle to open the lid once the food item is ready.
  14. Remove the food item from the plate. Always use a cloth to remove the food item from the appliance.
  15. Close the lid to retain the heat for further use.
  16. To switch off the appliance, turn the roasting/ browning level regulator to the “0” position (left) and disconnect the plug from the socket. The heating elements and thermostat will not function if the roasting/browning level regulator is in “0” position. However, the red “POWER” LED continues to glow until the plug is disconnected from the socket.
  17. Allow the appliance to cool down completely.

Adjusting the level of roasting/browning

You can use the “Roasting/browning level regulator” to adjust the degree of cooking. The further the roasting/browning level regulator is turned to the right, the longer and more intense is the degree of cooking.

Cleaning and Care

Important: Disconnect the power plug and allow the appliance to cool down completely before cleaning it. Never immerse the appliance in water or some other liquid.

  • Wipe the lid, base and cooking plates with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive soap or dish washing detergent. Wipe it with a clean, soft, damp cloth and dry it with a towel.

  • Storage: Store the cleaned appliance in a clean and dry location.
    Caution! Never store the product when it is still hot or plugged in.
    Caution! Never wrap the cable tightly around the appliance, but use the cable winder provided for this purpose. Do not subject the cable to a heavy tension, otherwise it may buckle and be permanently damaged.

  • Please do not use any aggressive or chemical cleaning agents!

Sample recipes

The following recipes are only samples.

Basic waffle recipe

  • 125g soft butter
  • 100 g sugar
  • 1 packet of Vanilla sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 250 : flour
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 200 m: milk

Steps of making Basic waffle

  1. Mix the butter with the sugar and vanilla sugar.
  2. Now add the eggs and mix.
  3. Mix the flour, baking powder and salt together and mix them with the dough.
  4. Then add the milk.
  5. Then bake the waffles directly in the maker.

Belgian waffle

  • 1 kg flour
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 3 packets of vanilla sugar
  • 7 eggs
  • 600g of melted butter
  • 2 cubes of fresh yeast
  • 650 g of crystal sugar
  • 1 cup of lukewarm milk
  • 1 cup of water

Steps of making Belgian waffle

  1. Add the flour with the vanilla sugar in a bowl and mix the ingredients thoroughly.
  2. Crumble the yeast and dissolve it in lukewarm milk.
  3. Add the eggs, milk (including yeast) and the melted butter to the flour and mix it properly (about 1 minute).
  4. Cover the dough and allow it to rise for half an hour in a warm place.
  5. Then mix the 650 g crystal sugar to the dough.
  6. Then bake the waffles directly in the waffle maker.

Any repairs or modifications to the appliance not carried out by the original supplier will void any warranty and guarantee claims.
