Usage
Cooking rice
Measure the rice and water and distribute the ingredients evenly in the
cooking vessel. Now place the cooking vessel (9) in the rice cooker and close
the lid. De-pending on the taste and need, you can wash the rice to remove the
excess starch. Simply stir or tilt the cooking vessel filled with rice and
water, and then drain the starch water. Please repeat this process until the
water becomes clear. Finally fill the cooking vessel again with the required
amount of water. Connect the supplied power cord to the appliance and to a
properly installed 220-240V AC socket and press the “Rice” button (14) on the
front of the appliance. The white indicator starts glowing. The active cooking
process is first indicated by a display that lights up in clockwise direction,
and then finally changes to the indication of the remain-ing time (the
displayed value counts down about 6 minutes before completion). When the
cooking process is completed, the rice cooker indicates this acoustically with
five beeps. The display changes to the current time for the keep-warm mode in
1-hourly cycle (0 h = 0 to 59 minutes / 1 hour = 1 hour to 1 hour and 59 min-
utes, etc.). If you want to cancel the keep-warm mode, press the “KEEP WARM /
CANCEL” button (18). Disconnect the power cord from the mains socket after
using the appliance.
Note: If the rice needs to be kept warm, then the power cord must be connected
and the lid should be in place. The keep-warm function will be terminated if
the power cord is removed. The approximate quantities of rice and water depend
on the type of rice. Sample quantities of rice and water: The supported
quantities of 0.5 – 1.5 measuring cups of rice correspond to a portion of rice
for 1-2 persons. Please fill the supplied measuring cup up to half with rice,
add it to the cooking vessel, and then fill water up to the 0.5 mark for rice.
Likewise, for one full measuring cup of rice, water has to be filled up to the
1.0 mark for rice in the cooking vessel, or up to the 1.5 mark for rice for
1.5 measuring cups of rice.
Cooking porridge
Measure the required ingredients for porridge such that the total quantity
does not exceed the 0.5 mark for porridge in the cooking vessel. Now place the
cooking vessel in the rice cooker and close the lid. Connect the power cord to
a properly installed 220-240V AC socket and press the “Porridge” button (16)
on the front of the appliance. The white indicator starts glowing. Allow the
porridge to cook for about 45 minutes and then mix it with the rice spoon
(11). The rice cooker automatically changes over to the keep-warm mode once
the porridge is ready. If you want to cancel the keep-warm mode, press the
“Keep Warm / Cancel ” button (18). After cooking, remove the power cord from
the socket and then remove the lid.
Note: If the porridge needs to be kept warm, then the power cord has to be
connected and the lid should be in place. The keep-warm function will be
terminated if the power cord is removed.
Keep-warm function
The keep-warm function is automatically started after the cooking is
completed. Alternatively, you can start the keep-warm function manually by
pressing the “Keep Warm / Cancel” button (18) . To switch off the keep-warm
function, press the button again or disconnect the power cord from the socket.
Delay function
The “delay” function allows you to switch on the rice cooker after a defined
Timer (Delay) and to keep the rice ready at a specified time. Press the
“Timer” button (20) to enable the “Delay” function and to delay the cooking
process by a time between 1-24 hours. Pressing the “Timer” button (20)
repeatedly increases the configured time up to a maximum of 24 hours. For
example, if it is 1:00 p.m in the afternoon and you want the rice to be cooked
and ready at 6:00 p.m, then you need to set the “Delay” time to 5.0 hours. The
rice cooker starts automatically and stops cooking at 6:00 p.m. After the
configured time, the rice cooker automatically switches to the keep-warm mode.
To cancel the keep-warm mode, press the “Keep Warm / Cancel” button (18) or
disconnect the power cord from the socket.
Displays
The table below shows the displays and their meaning:
Cleaning and Care
Before cleaning, please disconnect the power cord and allow the appliance to cool down completely. Clean the cooking vessel (9), lid (1), measuring cup (10) and the rice spoon (11) in warm water. Do not use any strong or aggressive cleaning agents or scouring agents. It is also important to clean the air outlet and the inner lid regularly (see photo on the left). To clean the air outlet, grasp under the protruding edge of the air outlet and pull it out of the lid (1) . Now open the lid (1) and remove the inner lid (see photo on the right) by pulling it down. When mounting the inner lid, make sure that one side has a slightly higher gasket. This side should make contact with the lid, the flatter side is then the visible side. Rinse the inner lid and air outlet, as previously mentioned, with water. Now mount the air outlet (6) back on the lid (1). Please do not use steel wool or metal objects for cleaning to prevent damage. Then rinse all the parts thoroughly and allow them to dry. Wipe the outer body with a clean, damp cloth and then dry it thoroughly. Ensure that water does not get into the switching mechanism or onto the heating plate since there is a risk of electric shock. This appliance is not suitable for clean-ing in dishwashers.
