Remove all the packing material and take out the iron. Remove any labels, protective foils or covers from the ironing plate before the first use. Remove the power cord B4 and the steam inlet hose A13 from the storage area B5 and completely unwind them. Place the base – steam generator B on a stable, flat and heat-resistant surface. Place the iron A on the resting surface B6 (storage position). At first let the iron at least 10 minutes running without water. The iron may produce slight smoke and harmless odor, which is cased by burning of used lubricants and seals in steam chamber. This is normal situation and does not form the reason for warranty claim. During first filling of the tank with operating water it is recommended to release the steam from whole tank outside the ironed fabric.
Ironing temperatures
- Sort laundry and iron according to the instructions for treatment (e.g. manufacturer’s recommendation – the label on clothes).
- If clothes consist of e.g. two and more materials or if they contain stringing, purls, embossing, stretch material, etc., always iron according to the material requiring the lower temperature only. If you do not know the material, find the suitable place that is not visible when wearing and try suitable temperature for ironing at the place.
- When ironing woollen fabrics, we recommend ironing on the back side of the fabric and you can iron virgin wool through additional cloth. Velvet and similar fabrics can be ironed in one direction (you will prevent creation of glossy areas).
- Steam ironing is not suitable for fabrics from synthetic and silk fibers (e.g. acrylon, nylon, polyamide, spandex, elastane or polyester). If you decide to iron such materials, you have to set the for low steam generation.
- Iron white and light materials on the right side; it is better to iron dark and embroidered materials on the wrong side, it brings out the patterns.
- We recommend using soft textile permeable base materials for steam ironing.
- Make sure that the ironed fabric is tensed up properly so that steam does not leak to the sides.
- For the ironing plate to remain smooth, protect it from direct contact with hard objects (e.g. zip fasteners, buttons, snap buttons, decorative objects). To put the iron aside, use the resting plate of the base – steam generator that is equipped with anti-slip pads and designed to withstand very high temperatures.
Iron – removal / insertion
Pressing and sliding the B2 button towards the icon ( ) will release the lock
and subsequently the iron A can be removed from the storage area B6. In the
opposite way, insert and secure the iron into the base – steam generator.
Ironing without steaming (dry ironing)
Thanks to OptiCare technology, the system has one universal temperature
setting (approx. 140 ± 20 °C). Connect the plug in the power supply B4 and
press the A1 button to switch on the iron. After reaching the correct
temperature, you can start using the appliance.
WARNING
During ironing the thermostat will cycle, which is accompanied by
characteristic sound (clicking). This is normal situation and does not form
the reason for warranty claim related to the appliance.
Recommendation
When the temperature is increased from the cold state we recommend waiting for
a while due to stabilization of the ironing plate A1 temperature.
Filling up the tank with water
Open B3 cover and, for example, fill the water tank B1 with funnel water to
the mark (MAX 1.5 l) using funnel C, then close the filling opening cover.
We recommend diluting hard tap water with distilled water. You can obtain
information on the water hardness from the water supply network manager, or at
a hygienic station which is accompanied by characteristic sound (clicking). We
recommend filling the iron according to the following ratio when the water
hardness is >15 °N:
As soon as the warning light A9 (empty tank) turns on, it is necessary to add water to the tank B1.
Steam ironing / Vertical steaming
The iron can also be used to steam hanging clothes or textiles. When one of
the 3 B13 filter replacement icons lights up, the filter has reached the end
of its service life and press the A1 button to switch on the iron. After
reaching the correct temperature, you can select the steam intensity using the
A2 button. You have 2 settings – intense and mild steaming, which represent
the A5 and A6 icons. Hold the iron by the handle A11, to produce steam press
and hold the steam activation button A10. When the A10 button is released, the
steam flow stops.
Warning
- For all normal ironing the ECO adjustment of the steam amount is recommended. Only on ironing the linen fabric, thick cotton and similar fabrics the adjustment of the steam amount to maximum value is recommended.
- When ironing, make sure that the steam inlet hose A13 is not wrung, pinched or broken.
- If you do not use the steam for several minutes, direct the iron away from the clothing and press the steam button (control) A10 several times to remove condensed water in the steam system.
- The pump will turn on during the steam generation, which is accompanied by a characteristic sound. It is completely normal and does not represent a reason for a sales return.
- When using starch, pour it on the wrong side of the ironed surface and increase the steam generation.
- Do not use your bare hand as a supporting surface when you steam.
Safety electronics (AUTO STOP)
Safety electronics ensures that the heating is switched off after 10 minutes
of operation. The iron is switched on again automatically when the A2 or A10
button is pressed.
Storage
When you finish ironing, turn the appliance off by holding button A1 and
disconnect the power cord from the electric socket. Then drain the water from
the tank, or let it evaporate, and let the iron cool down. The steam inlet
hose A13 into the storage area up B5.
Place the iron into the resting position. Store the appliance after cleaning
in a dry, dust-free and safe place, out of the reach of children and
incompetent persons.
MAINTENANCE
Before every maintenance, unplug the iron from power supply by taking the fork of the power cord out of the socket! Do not use rough and aggressive detergents (e.g. sharp objects, peelers, pot scourers, caustic agents for cleaning or other solvents). Wipe the entire iron with a wet cloth in the cooled state and dry up. If brown film is created on the ironing plate (e.g. when ironing starched laundry), you can remove the film by a detergent containing fine sand.
Self-cleaning system (SELF CLEAN)
In order to guarantee optimal function, the system must be descaled after
consuming each 15 litres of water (i.e. approximately 10 filling volumes).
Pour clean drinking water into the tank (0.5 l). Switch on the appliance and
wait until it is hot. Hold the iron horizontally above the washbowl. Press and
hold button A3 (for approx.3 s). Hot water will be flowing of the iron.
Recommended cleaning time: at least 2 minutes. After completing the cleaning
then iron a clean piece of cotton cloth so that the ironing plate is cleaned.
The function can be switched off prematurely with the A1 key.
Recommendation
- The base – steam generator is designed so that any scale is removed together with water by draining. You do not need to shake or tilt the base – steam generator.
- Failure to clean the appliance may lead to malfunction.
More extensive maintenance or maintenance requiring intervention in the inner parts of the appliance must be carried out by professional service! Failure to comply with the instructions of the manufacturer will lead to expiration of the right to guarantee repair!
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
If the dimensions allow, there are labels of materials used for production of packing, components and accessories as well as their recycling on all parts of the appliance. The symbols specified on the product or in the accompanying documentation mean that the used electrical or electronic products must not be disposed of together with municipal waste. For proper disposal, hand them over at the special collection places where they will be accepted free of charge.
