< Battery Notes >

  • Observe the following precautions.
Otherwise the camera may cause malfunction.

    1. Do not use different kinds of batteries.
    2. Do not use new and old batteries at the same time.
    3. Make sure the batteries are loaded with plus (+ ) and minus (- ends correctly.
    4. Do not use nickel-cadmium batteries.
  • The battery performance will decrease temporarily at low temperatures (below 0°C). If you are taking pic- tures in cold weather, bring spare batteries with you so that you can use the camera batteries and spare bat- teries alternately while warming them in your pocket.
The batteries weakened by cold temperatures will func- tion normally again fi the temperature returns to normal. Before loading the batteries, wipe both poles clean with a dry cloth. Soiled batteries poles may cause poor electrical contact.

  • Do not throw used batteries into fire and do not short, disassemble or heat them.

Camera Care

  • Be careful enough not to soil the light sensor window with fingermarks, because the metering accuracy may be impaired. If it is soiled, wipe off lightly with lens- cleaning tissue moistened with lens-cleaning fluid. Re- move dust and dirt with an air blower or lens brush.
  • To clean the camera body, wipe it clean with a soft cloth. Never use benzine, thinner or other organic solvents.
  • After using it at the seaside or in a dusty place, wipe the camera clean. Salt air will have a corrosive effect on the camera, and sand and dust will be harmful to the camera mechanism.
  • The lens may be clouded if the camera is carried in- side a warm room from outdoors where it is cold. The cloud will disappear soon, but it is advisable to avoid sud- den temperature changes if possible.
  • The camera incorporates a high voltage circuit which is dangerous. In case of malfunction, NEVER try to disas- semble it by yourself for repair.
  • If you are going to use the camera for important events such as an overseas trip or wedding ceremony, be sure to test it beforehand or check to see if it functions proper- ly. It is also recommended to bring spare batteries with you. < Storage of the Camera >
  • Keep the camera away from heat, moisture and dust and store it in an airy place. Do not store it in a wardrobe drawer containing moth repellents or in a laboratory together with chemicals that may cause damage to it.
  • Do not leave the camera and film too long in hot places (in the seaside in summer, in a closed car under direct sunlight, etc.), because the camera, batteries and film may be adversely affected.
