HOW TO PAIR

Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device and that it is 35 feet or less from the smart switch. Tap the “+” symbol under “Devices” after navigating there. To finish coupling, select the Smart Dimmer/Switch and click “Add.” The Smart Switch indication LED will stop flashing after it has been linked.

HOW TO REPROGRAM DIMMER SWITCH

  1. Turn on and lower the dimmer’s knob to the lowest setting (turn fully anti-clockwise).
  2. Switch the lights on and off once more.
  3. At least three more times, repeat step 2.
  4. When the dimmer is in setup mode, the lights will step up and down in brightness before remaining dim or turning off.

DO I HAVE NEUTRAL WIRES?

  • There is a very good probability that neutral colors are used throughout your home if it was built in the middle of the 1980s or later.
  • The switch box most certainly features a neutral if there is an outlet (wall receptacle) nearby.
  • Regardless of the year, switches that are ganged together are far more likely to include neutrals.

HOW TO CHECK THE SWITCH BOX

  1. Before handling the electrical wire in your switch boxes, kindly follow all safety measures.
  2. Activate the breaker box.
  3. Trim plate covering the switch should be removed.
  4. To inspect the wires, unscrew your switch and remove out the existing switch.
  5. It is VERY likely that you have a neutral if you observe a white wire (or cluster of white wires).

HOW TO RESET

  1. Verify that the light switch is mounted and that the power is switched on (the device is not connected network).
  2. When the device is re-entered into the setup network state, click and hold the Treatlife Switch for around 5 seconds. The indicator light will then go into flash mode (flashes twice per second).

FAQs

When the lighting schedule is set for on/off using the phone app, will the lights turn on/off if phones are turned off?

It’s cloud based. The schedule is not stored in the phone. But the internet has to be up for your home fir the device to talk to the cloud.

What is the wattage consumption when the smart dimmer is on standby? If I have 10 of these in my home, should I feel the energy cost?

No. Energy use in the off mode is very minimal.

Does these work with google nest Wi-Fi ? google Wi-Fi uses same ssid for 2.4 and 5 ghz?

This will work just fine as long as you are broadcasting the 2.4ghz. I use Google Wi-Fi and have nearly two dozen of Treatlife switches. I do prefer to flash them with Tasmota and load into Home Assistant for better control and home automation rather than use their app but work on Wi-Fi all the same.

Can the switch control multiple LED lights, 4 or 6 bulbs on one dimmer switch?

I have a dining room light with 5 bulbs on one, and a ceiling fan with 4 bulbs on another. Haven’t had any troubles so far.

After turning the light off from the touch button, can I still use Alexa to turn it on?

Yes. Only smart bulbs have the horrible behavior of becoming unresponsive when you turn off the wall switch.

can you control both lights instead of 1 lights and 1 fan?

This switch shouldn’t be used to control a ceiling fan. Only lights.

can you set the maximum light level in the same way you can set the minimum light level?

It doesn’t look like it. Wish I could upload an image to show you. The dimming range just says “lights too bright? Adjust the dimming range.” And it goes from 1% to 100%.

can I use without being with Alexia? and can I use the on and off function for each light?

The switch will work without Alexa by manually pressing the switch on or off. The app will turn the switch on or off as long as the switch is connected to your wi-fi but I’m not sure if you need to have an Alexa device in order for the app to work.

All my switches are single pole but they all have 2 black wires into them and seems that all white are twisted together in the back, any ideas?

That is the standard method of wiring single pole switches. You will still need to connect the neutral and grounds. Then one of the blacks is your line and one is the load. Sometimes you have to take your best educated guess by where they are running (top, bottom) other switches, etc. to figure it out. If you can’t dim the light, then switch the line and load.

Is it possible to adjust the dimming range? Lights are too bright at even 1%?

Read the manual. It is possible on the app to adjust brightness dimming range.

I installed one of these in my bedroom but I cannot get it to connect right to the app. Any tips?

Make sure you are connecting the switch to a 2.4 GHz not 5. These switches only work on 2.4.

Can I get the matching 3-way switch and 2- and 4 gang cover plates?

They sell both single pole and three-way smart switches, but you would not combine more than one smart switch on the same light circuit. For a 3- or 4-way circuit, you replace only one of the 3-way switches with the 3-way smart switch. Replace the one that has a neutral wire in the box.
