SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

  • Note! To minimize the risk of fire, electric shock or injury:
  •  Carefully read this instruction before using the appliance.
  •  Children do not realize the dangers that can arise when using electrical appliances; therefore keep the appliance out of reach of children.
  •  Do not immerse the body of the appliance in water or other liquids. Immersing in water may cause an electric shock.
  •  If water spills on the external components of the appliance, dry it thoroughly before switching back on. Do not touch wet surfaces in contact with the appliance connected to power supply, immediately disconnect it from the mains.
  •  Do not use the appliance if it shows any signs of damage to the power cord, or if the appliance has been dropped on the floor.
  •  After use, always pull out the plug from the socket, and also in case of any malfunction, before cleaning or before changing accessories.
  •  When pulling out the plug from the wall outlet, never pull by the cord, only the plug, holding the socket with your other hand.
  •  The appliance is Class II fire protection electrical equipment.
  •  Do not attempt to remove any parts of the housing.
  • To prevent damage to the power cord, do not place it over sharp edges or close to hot surfaces.
  •  Do not expose the appliance to rain or humidity, and do not use it outdoors. Do not operate the appliance with wet hands.
  •  If the power cord or plug is damaged, it should be replaced by a professional repair shop in order to avoid hazard.
  •  Never place the appliance on hot surfaces.
  •  Never leave the appliance connected to the mains without supervision.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with physical, mental or sensory handicaps, or by persons inexperienced or unfamiliar with the appliance, unless under supervision or in accordance with the instructions as communicated to them by persons responsible for their safety. Children shall not play with the appliance.
  •  This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and older or by persons with physical, mental or sensory handicaps, or by those who are inexperienced or unfamiliar with the appliance, provided they are supervised or have been instructed how to safely use the appliance and are familiar with risks associated with the use of the appliance. Ensure that children do not play with the appliance. Do not allow children to clean and maintain the appliance unless they are 8 years or older and are supervised by a competent person.
  •  The surface on which the appliance is used shall be level, clean and dry.
  •  To turn on the appliance, connect the mains plug to an earthed mains socket. You can completely shut down the appliance by disconnecting it from the power supply.
  •  Before use, extend and straighten the power cord.
  •  Use the appliance on a flat, stable surface.
  •  Do not use an extension cord which does not meet the applicable electrical standards and regulations.
  •  Also, do not heat food wrapped in foil or paper.
  • Do not use the appliance for heating rooms.
  •  Do not use the appliance for purposes other than its in-tended use.
  •  Take all precautions, do not touch any hot surfaces of the appliance. Do not wash, put away or cover the appliance it until it has completely cooled down.
  •  Do not place the appliance on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in places where it could come into contact with other heat sources.
  • When using the appliance, allow sufficient clearance above and on all sides of the appliance for adequate air circulation. The appliance must not come into contact with curtains, wall decorations, clothes, paper towels or other flammable materials during operation. Use an insulated thermal on any surfaces that may be sensitive to high temperature.
  • Be especially careful when moving an appliance containing hot oil.
  • Note! The appliance is not intended to be operated using external timers or a separate remote control system.
  •  This appliance has been designed to prepare grilled food, do not use it for any other purpose.

  •  The food is very hot immediately after being prepared. Use a wooden spatula to remove it from the appliance. Wooden utensils are the best to use as they do not damage the Teflon surface of the heating elements of the appliance.
  •  Do not use metal utensils to remove food from the heating plates. The Teflon surface may be damaged.
  •  Before using the appliance for the first time, wipe the inside surfaces with a damp cloth and then grease the warm heating plates. Heat the empty appliance for about 10 minutes. This will remove any unpleasant odours that may remain due to the manufacturing process.
  •  When you have placed the food to be grilled in the appliance, only touch the lid handle, both during and after the grilling. After use, leave the appliance to cool down.
  •  Steam and hot air will be released from the food when grilling. Be especially careful when opening and closing a hot appliance.
UNPACKING

During transportation, protective packaging was used to protect the appliance against any damage. Af­ter unpacking, please dispose of all elements of packaging in a way that will not cause damage to the environ­ment. All materials used for packaging the appliance are environmentally friendly; they are 100% recyclable and are marked with the appropriate symbol.

Important
 Packaging materials (bags, polyethyl­ene, polystyrene, etc.) should be kept away from children during unpacking.

DISPOSAL OF OLD APPLIANCE
In accordance with European Directive 2012/19/EU and local legislation re­garding used electrical and electronic goods, this appliance is marked with the symbol of the crossed­ out waste container. This marking indicates that the appliance must not be disposed of together with other household waste after it has been used. The user is obliged to hand it over to waste collec­tion centre collecting used electrical and electron­ic goods. The collectors, including local collection points, shops and local authority departments pro­vide recycling schemes. Proper handling of used electrical and electronic goods helps avoid environmental and health haz­ards resulting from the presence of dangerous com­ponents and the inappropriate storage and process­ing of such goods.

OPERATION

FEATURES AND COMPONENTS

  1.  Stable base unit with a plastic adjustable cover;
  2.  Solid die-cast metal lever to adjust the lid to match the thickness of the food;
  3. Removable non-stick grilling plates that are dishwasher safe. Perfect for grilling steaks, chops, chicken and vegetables;
  4. Power and temperature controls;
  5. Dishwasher safe drip tray;
  6. Hinge release lever which allows you to arrange the lid flat and grill in the folded out position;
  7.  Heating plate release button allowing you to detach and remove the heating plates.
  8. Lid lock release button.

Uses the grill:

  •  When you properly assemble and prepare the appliance select the desired lid position. If the lid is fully open in 180° position, press the lid lock release button lock (fig. 1 item 8).

  • If the appliance is to be used as a flat grill, but you do not need the entire surface, use the bottom heating plate only with the lid at 90°.

  •  Depending on the set temperature, the appliance heats up to the operating temperature for about 2 minutes 30 seconds. When the required temperature is reached, the display will stop blinking, you will hear a beep and the green indicator will light up. When the appliance is in use, the indicator lights up green or orange as the temperature is maintained. This is normal.

  •  If the grill is used continuously, the time to preheat the heating plates will be shorter.

  •  Use the +/– buttons to set the desired temperature of the grilling surface. The temperature adjustment buttons are only available for manual mode .

  • The top plate  heating button is active when the lid is in the fully open 180° position (as a flat  grill).

  • Automatic programmes: . Active programmes in the grilling function.
    Poultry Hamburger Sausage Sandwich Fish Steak Select how you want your steak done: “Rare, Medium Rare, Medium, Well-Done”: cooked for 3, 5, 7 or 9 minutes

  • Always exercise caution when using the appliance. To open the appliance, grasp the black part of the handle. This part of the handle remains cool while grilling.

  • The attachment arms are made of die-cast aluminium and are hot during use. Do not touch them during or immediately after grilling.

  •  The appliance becomes hot during use.

  •  The lid is made of stainless steel and heats up to a high temperature. Do not touch it during or im-mediately after grilling. If you need to adjust the lid, wear oven gloves to avoid burns.

  • The base unit is made of plastic. It gets warm with use but won’t burn you. If you need to move the appliance while grilling, hold it by the base unit only. Do not touch the lid.

  •  Allow the appliance to cool down for at least 30 minutes.

NOTE: Do not slice the food directly on the heating plates.

  • Do not use the appliance to prepare and defrost frozen food. The food must be completely defrosted before cooking in this appliance.
  •  Some smoke may be emitted during the first use of the appliance. This is normal and will stop with continued use.

Grill on bottom heating please, the top plate at 90°

  1.  Plug in the appliance to the wall outlet, you will hear a beep and will flash.
  2.  Set the lid to the 90° open position, press the button.
  3. Press the button, use the +/– to set the temperature to 150°C – 160°C – 170°C – 180°C – 190°C  – 200°C – 210°C and press to confirm. The appliance will pre-heat for approximately 2 minutes 30  seconds. As soon as the target temperature is reached, the display will stop blinking, you will hear a beep and you can place the food.

NOTE: When the appliance operates in mode, you cannot set the grilling time.

  • Do not change the position of the lid while grilling. If you change the position to other than 90°, the upper heating plate will start to heat automatically.

Grill with heating plates with the lid adjustable using the handle

  1.  Plug in the appliance to the wall outlet, you will hear a beep and will flash.
  2.  Close the lid and adjust as need using the handle (fig. 1, item 2), then press the button.
  3. Select the desired mode  and then press to confirm. The appliance will pre-heat for approximately 2 minutes 30 seconds. After preheating, the display will show “RUN” and you will hear a beep. Lift the lid, put the food on the bottom plate, close the lid. When finished you will hear another beep, and the mode sequence will be displayed again. If you do not select any mode, the appliance will turn off automatically after approximately 1 hour.

NOTE: Press to select one of the sequence “Rare, Medium Rare, Medium, Well-Done” and them press to confirm.

  • If you select from the displayed sequence.
  1.  Use the +/– to set the temperature of both heating plates, just one temperature will be displayed. 2). When the appliance operates in mode, you cannot set the grilling time.

NOTE: “RUN” message will be displayed for only.
Grill on both heating plates that are fully open at 180° – as a flat bed grill

  1.  Plug in the appliance to the wall outlet, you will hear a beep and will flash.

  2.  Press the lid lock release button (Fig.1 item 8) and set the lid to the fully open position at 180°

  3. Turn on the appliance , press , to adjust the temperature of the top and bottom heating  plate. Use +/– to adjust the temperature 150°C – 160°C – 170°C – 180°C – 190°C – 200°C – 210°C- OFF  and then press to confirm. The appliance will pre-heat for approximately 2 minutes 30 seconds. As soon as the target temperature is reached, the display will stop blinking, you will hear a beep. Place the food on the grill plates.
    NOTE: When the appliance operates in mode, you cannot set the grilling time.

  4. After use, unplug the appliance from the wall outlet. Leave to cool for about half an hour. Remove the heating plates and drip tray, wipe clean, allow to dry and store.

CLEANING AND CARE

  • Before cleaning, unplug the appliance from the wall outlet and allow it to cool down.
  •  Wipe the casing with a slightly damp cloth, ensuring that no moisture, oil or grease can get into the cooling openings.
  • You can clean the heating plates when they are fitted in the appliance or remove them. To remove the heating plates from the appliance press the release button 2 next to the handle – see figure. Wipe the heating plates with a damp cloth. If the heating plates are removed, you can wash them under running water. Dry the heating plates. The heating plates are dishwasher safe.
  • Do not clean any surfaces with sharp, abrasive sponges or wire cloths, as this will damage the coating.
  • Do not immerse the appliance in water or any liquids.
