Utilizes SONOS
You may play any audio source on your Sonos app by connecting the VSX-LX504 to Sonos Connect. The VSX-LX504 can be used alone or in groups with other Sonos devices on the network. As soon as you start playing music on your Sonos app, the AV receiver will instantly turn on and change input.
Upmixing for Dolby Atmos and Dolby Surround
The 9.2ch AV receiver can be upgraded to decode 11ch to drive the 7.2.4ch configuration of Dolby Atmos by adding an extra amplifier. 230 W/channel (6 ohms), 120 W/channel are the wattage ratings (8 ohms). 9 channels are available.
Can this handle 4K 120?****
This device cannot handle 4K 120. It predates that feature by a few years. This may be supported by the more recent lx505, but I’m not sure.
Does Alexa support it?****
Not the Pioneer device. I operate the device with a Logitec Harmony Elite universal remote and Google Assistant. I have no doubt that Logitec would also support Alexa. A universal remote is highly advised for use with this device. I also have control over my AT&T u-verse, a streaming audio and video gadget.
Does this AVR support 5.x.4 speaker height configuration? I want to purchase the 505, its successor, but I’m curious if it can handle four heights.****
Yes, you can. Out of your 9 active channels, the left and right speakers take up the first three. The center speaker comes next. The receiver works flawlessly, and you have your left and right surround inputs, left and right front height speakers, and additional inputs for your left and right rear height speakers, for a total of 9 or 5.1.4.
This receiver has the mcacc pro, right?****
Yes, it has it, and you can set it up for nine various locations. However, once you’ve finished using the automatic calculations, you should allow your ears make the final determination regarding the sound quality before manually completing the room settings.
Will the 4-ohm Pioneer Elite Tower Speakers I have work with this receiver?****
Yes, you may choose between 4-ohm, 6 ohms, or higher in the speaker settings option.
Does this device have Dolby Atmos built in?****
Yes, it is equipped with DTX and Dolby Atmos.
Is the composite video to HDMI conversion of this device?****
Yes, you can choose a composite video input to send HDMI to your TV.

This receiver does indeed support Dolby Vision. The receiver will let Dolby Vision content from the Xbox or any other source to pass through.
Can I control zone 2 and zone 3’s volume independently? in the event that I don’t want it to be as loud as Zone 1.****
You can, indeed. I have two zones, and each has its own volume.
