ENSURE THAT THE FOLLOWING PARTS HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THE KIT:
- 1 Left Light Trim (clutch side)
- 1 Right Light Trim (brake side)
- 1 Center Trim
- 2 Wiring Adapters
- 1 Rubber Gasket
- 2 1/4-20 X 1” Button Head Cap Screws
- 4 M2.5 X 0.45 X 3.5mm Flange Screws
- 12 6” Cable Ties
- 8 Cable Tie Mounts
- 6 Cord Keepers
- 2 Alcohol Pads
- 2 Foam Pads
YOU WILL ALSO NEED
Standard an metric hex bit set, torx bit set, in-lbs (Nm) torque wrench

NOTICE: ACCIDENTAL VEHICLE START-UP COULD CAUSE DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY, REMOVE THE MAIN FUSE BEFORE
PROCEEDING. -
NOTICE: AVOID DAMAGE TO THE MOTORCYCLE. PROTECT PAINTED SURFACES WITH A SOFT CLOTH OR BLANKET

NOTICE: PREPARE A FLAT CLEAN WORK SURFACE FOR PLACING REMOVED PARTS AND HARDWARE ON.

STEP 1 Read and understand all steps in the instructions before starting the installation. Park the motorcycle on a hard, level surface and turn off the ignition. Let motorcycle cool.

STEP 2 Remove main fuse.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
TRACER WINDSHIELD TRIM FOR BATWING

STEP 3 Refer to PIC 2. Unfasten and remove the two (2) outer screws securing the windshield. Loosen, but do NOT remove, the center screw. Remove the windshield. Set all hardware and the windshield aside, they will be reused. Note: Refer to motorcycle’s service manual for additional assistance.
FOR BIKES WITH PASSING LAMPS: -
STEP 4 Refer to PIC 3. Remove the two (2) screws that connect th passing lamp’s mounting bracket to the upper and lower fork brackets. Disconnect the passing lamp’s connector. Remove light fixture from bike and set aside for now. Repeat on opposite side.
FOR BIKES WITHOUT PASSING LAMPS:
Continue to Step 5.

STEP 5 Refer to PIC 3. Remove the two (2) screws from each side of the inner fairing. Set them aside for now, they will be reused.

STEP 6 While holding the outer fairing in place, remove the center windshield screw and tip the outer fairing forward. Unplug the headlight from the connector and carefully remove the outer fairing from the motorcycle. Set the outer fairing (headlight facing up) on a soft, sturdy surface. Set the center windshield screw aside, it will be reused.

STEP 7 FOR BIKES WITH PASSING LAMPS:
Continue to Step 8.
FOR BIKES WITHOUT PASSING LAMPS:
Locate and disconnect the turn signal connectors.
Note: Refer to motorcycle’s service manual for additional assistance. -
STEP 8 Refer to PIC 4. Locate provided two (2) wiring adapters. Connect a wire adapter to each turn signal connector.

STEP 9 Locate the Left (clutch side) and Right (brake side) Light Trims. Connect the left trim to a left wiring adapter and the right trim to a right wiring adapter.

STEP 10 Reinstall main fuse and test windshield trims for proper run/ turn operations. Disconnect lights after operational testing. Set them aside for the time being. Remove main fuse.

STEP 11 Locate provided Center Trim and four (4) flange screws.

STEP 12 Refer to PIC 5-7. Place the Center Trim facing down on a flat clean surface. Align and place, also facing down on the work surface, the Left (clutch side) Light Trim on the left of the Center Trim, and Right (brake side) Light Trim on the right of the Center Trim. The mounting holes of the lights align over the top of the mounting holes of the Center trim. Secure light trims to the Center Trim using the four (4) provided flange screws. Fully tighten, but do NOT over tighten, all hardware.

STEP 13 Locate provided Gasket and two (2) 1/4-20 x 1” Button Head Cap Screws.

STEP 14 Refer to PIC 8-10. Align the gasket with the trim assembly.
Feed the wires of the lights through the outer most slots on the gasket. Press the gasket up against the back of the trim assembly. The top edge of the gasket should wrap around the top of the assembly when installed on the motorcycle. -
STEP 15 Refer to PIC 11. With the outer fairing still uninstalled, align the trim and gasket assembly with the top windshield edge of the inner fairing. Using the provided button head cap screws and the two outer holes on the inner fairing, loosely secure the trim assembly. Let the wires of the trim lights hang loosely for now.

STEP 16 FOR BIKES WITH PASSING LAMPS:
Locate OEM hardware that was removed in Step 4. On each side of the motorcycle, connect the passing lamps’ connectors to the newly installed wiring adapters. Loosely
reinstall the passing lamps to the upper and lower fork brackets.
FOR BIKES WITHOUT PASSING LAMPS:
On each side of the motorcycle, connect the turn signal connectors to the
newly installed wiring adapters.
- STEP 17 Secure all wires in a safe place. Be sure to secure the wires where they won’t pinch, pull, or be damaged. Refer to your user manual for additional assistance for reinstalling it. Use provided cable ties, cable keepers and/or cable mounts.
- NOTICE: SECURE ALL WIRING AWAY FROM ANY MOVING PARTS, PINCH POINTS OR EXTREME HEAT. KURYAKYN WILL NOT ISSUE A WARRANTY ON ANY ELECTRICAL COMPONENT THAT FAILS DUE TO PINCHED, CRIMPED, BROKEN, ABRADED, MELTED OR FRAYED WIRES.
- NOTICE: A SECOND SET OF HANDS MAY BE USEFUL FOR THE NEXT STEP. BE SURE THERE IS A SOFT COVER ON THE FRONT FENDER.
- STEP 18 Refer to PIC 11. Remove the two outer screws holding the trim assembly to the inner fairing. Let the trim assembly gently hang from the secured wires.

STEP19: Refer to PIC 12. Locate OEM outer fairing. Align the outer fairing assembly with the front of the motorcycle. Connect the headlight to the headlight wiring harness. Slide the top edge of the outer fairing underneath the trim assembly.
When outer fairing and inner fairing are aligned with each other, there should be a small gap on either side, between both fairings. Route the wires through the sandwiched
fairings. -
Note: The outer fairing can be installed with the passing lamps loosely installed, but for ease of installation the passing lamps can be unfastened and then reinstalled after the outer fairing is installed.

STEP 20 Refer to PIC 13. Locate the OEM center screw from the windshield edge of the outer fairing, that was removed in Step 6. Loosely tighten the outer fairing assembly to the motorcycle.

STEP 21 Locate OEM windshield.

STEP 22 Refer to PIC 14. Align the windshield over the installed center screw. Reinstall the windshield and fully tighten the center screw.
TORQUE VALUE FOR WINDSHIELD SCREWS:
8-12 in-lbs (0.9-1.4 Nm)
- STEP 23 Locate provided button cap head screws. Realign the trim assembly with the top edge of the outer fairing. Align the outer mounting holes of the trim assembly, outer fairing, windshield and inner fairing; loosely secure them all together using the provided button cap head screws. Make adjustments to the trim assembly, gasket, and wires. Be sure the top edge of the gasket wraps around the top edge of the trim assembly. This will prevent water from getting behind the assembly.
- STEP 24 Fully tighten all windshield mount screws.
TORQUE VALUE FOR WINDSHIELD SCREWS:
25-30 in-lbs (2.8-3.4 Nm)
- STEP 25 Locate OEM inner fairing hardware that was removed in Step 5. Reinstall hardware, the long screw on top and the shorter screw on the bottom. Fully tighten all hardware.
TORQUE VALUE FOR INNER FAIRING UPPER SCREWS
20-30 in-lbs (2.3-3.4 Nm)

STEP26: FOR BIKES WITH PASSING LAMPS: Fully tighten all hardware.

TORQUE VALUE FOR PASSING LAMP MOUNTS:
120-180 in-lbs (13.6-20.3 Nm) -
FOR BIKES WITHOUT PASSING LAMPS:
Continue to Step 27. -
STEP 27 Reinstall main fuse and test trim assembly for proper run/ turn operations.

WARNING: ENSURE PROPER LIGHT OPERATION BEFORE RIDING THE MOTORCYCLE. VISIBILITY IS A MAJOR CONCERN FOR MOTORCYCLISTS. A LIGHT MALFUNCTION COULD RESULT IN DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY.

NOTICE: IT IS THE INSTALLER’S RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THAT ALL OF THE FASTENERS (INCLUDING PRE-ASSEMBLED) ARE
TIGHTENED BEFORE OPERATION OF THE MOTORCYCLE. KURYAKYN WILL NOT PROVIDE WARRANTY COVERAGE ON PRODUCTS OR COMPONENTS LOST DUE TO IMPROPER INSTALLATION OR LACK OF MAINTENANCE. PERIODIC INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE ARE REQUIRED ON ALL FASTENERS
LIMITED WARRANTY
Kuryakyn warrants that any Kuryakyn products sold hereunder, shall be free of
defects in materials & workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date
of purchase by the consumer excepting the following provisions:

Kuryakyn shall have no obligation in the event the customer is unable to provide a receipt showing the date the customer purchased the product(s).

The product must be properly installed, maintained & operated under normal conditions.
-
Kuryakyn shall not be liable for any consequential & incidental damages, including labor & paint, resulting from failure of a Kuryakyn product, failure to
deliver, delay in delivery, delivery in nonconforming condition, or for any breach of contract or duty between Kuryakyn & a customer. -
Kuryakyn products are often intended for use in specific applications. Kuryakyn makes no warranty if a Kuryakyn product is used in applications other
than intended. -
Kuryakyn electrical products are warranted for one (1) year from the date of purchase by the consumer. L.E.D.’s contained in components of Kuryakyn
products will be warranted for defects in materials & workmanship for 3 years from the date of purchase whereas all other components shall be warranted
for one (1) year. -
All warranty claims must be directed to the place of purchase. Merchandise sold through internet auction sites or any other unauthorized reseller shall
not carry a Kuryakyn warranty. If unsure, please contact the place of purchase to verify they are an authorized Kuryakyn reseller.
RETURN POLICY
Merchandise determined to be defective may be returned up to one year from the
date of purchase. Returns must be processed through original seller. Returned
merchandise for any other reason other than warranty claims must be in like
new condition & subject to a 20% restocking fee. All returns are subject to
inspection for determination of full or partial credit. Any returned part that
shows evidence of being used or installed contrary to manufacturer’s
instructions, &/or subjected to improper handling, packaging or return
shipping by the customer, will not be eligible for exchange, refund or
warranty consideration. All returned electrical items will be inspected &
tested. If electrical item is deemed functional, no credit will be issued &
item will be returned. All sales are final on discontinued or closeout
merchandise.
