Product Usage Instructions
Caution: Rainwater collected in the rain barrel should only be used for garden watering purposes. It should not be used for consumption by humans or animals.
Winter Storage
Prior to freezing temperatures, it is important to drain the barrel and
hose completely. This will prevent any water from freezing and causing damage
to the barrel. Follow the steps below for winter storage:
- Ensure the barrel is empty by draining all water.
- Disconnect the hose and remove any attachments.
- Invert the barrel, placing it upside down to prevent cracking during winter.
It is crucial to follow these winter storage instructions to avoid voiding the warranty.

Can I use the collected rainwater for drinking?
No, the rainwater collected in the barrel is not suitable for consumption by
humans or animals. It should only be used for garden watering purposes.
What happens if I don’t drain the barrel and store it upside down during
winter?
Failure to follow the winter storage instructions may result in cracking of
the barrel, which will void the warranty. It is important to drain the barrel
and store it upside down to prevent any damage caused by freezing
temperatures.
INSTRUCTIONS
- Attach the hose clip by inserting the point into the hole in the side of the barrel. To attach the hose, fit the hose end over the spigot and lock it in place with an O-clamp. When not in use clip the hose to the barrel.
- To install the debris screen, insert it into the opening. This durable plastic mesh screen is designed to keep leaves, sticks, and other debris out of the barrel. It also helps prevent pets and other animals from entering the barrel.
- The barrel must be positioned on a flat, level surface. We recommend using a patio stone as a base to prevent shifting and tipping.
- Before installing the barrel you will need to shorten the current downspout to allow water to exit into the barrel. Remove the elbow from the downspout; measure and cut the downspout so that the tip will be 5 cm (2 in) above the barrel screen once the elbow is reinstalled. The clearance is required to allow you to remove the screen for cleaning.
CAUTION: Rainwater can only be used for garden watering purposes. Do not use for consumption (human or animal)
