Release of the CUSTOM Lithium ion Batteries EFFECTIVE JANUARY 2022
NTRODUCTION
Lithium ion versus traditional Gel batteries. A complex rehab power wheelchair
requires: 2 x 12 V, deep cycle, Gel Group 22NF/Group 24 batteries OR 1 x 24 V
Lithium battery pack.
54 Ah = 33.75 lb.
39.25 lb. lighter than Gel batteries
78 Ah = 46.75 lb.
61.25 lb lighter than Gel batteries| Gr 22 (50 Ah) = 73 lb.
Gr 24 (70 Ah) = 108 lb.
FEATURES OF THE LITHIUM BATTERY PACK
Lithium batteries last 3 to 4 times longer than traditional Gel batteries:
- Comes with a charger specifically optimized for our Lithium batteries.
- Comes with a LED charging gauge that shows the battery capacity/voltage.
- Our Lithium batteries meet UN 38.3 requirements for aircraft travel.
- The Lithium battery is one 24 V “battery pack” encapsulated in a powder‐coated steel housing instead of two separate batteries.
- Lithium batteries are much more efficient and take a fuller charge than traditional Gel batteries for better range.
- The Lithium battery pack plugs in with one plug, same as the current version, therefore there is no need for battery tray modifications.
- Huge benefit in the overall weight of a wheelchair giving access to more lifts and elevators.
- The operating temperatures range of our Lithium battery is ‐4°F to 149°F (‐20°C to 65°C).
