With support for new Echo devices coming in the autumn, you can easily connect your Philips Hue Bluetooth smart lighting straight with Echo Dot (3rd Gen), Echo Plus, and Echo Show (2nd Gen).

Through the Philips Hue Hub, Echo devices can allow voice control of Philips Hue Bluetooth smart lighting. Add a Hue Hub (available separately) to your smart lights to experience the full range of Philips Hue features. This will give you access to all of the smart light functions. You can manage up to 50 smart lights in your house using a Hue Hub (even outdoor). If you are asking fixture I would say YES. But not in patio LIGHT. There is a special bulb for that.

Is a hub required?****

No, but the experience is significantly better with a hub. The Philips Hue hub allows you to change your lighting even when you’re not home, and allows you to control a larger number of devices more easily, especially when they extend across your entire home. If you’re just working with a few bulbs, then you don’t need the hub, but if you want to do something more extensive, I would absolutely recommend using the hub.

Is this bulb compatible with wac lighting hr-801 recessed low voltage remodel with electronic transformer wac23948?****

The packaging states they cannot be used in recessed lighting. Philips and a few other manufacturers do make smart bulb kits for recessed lighting, but they are pricier.
