Introduction

SMART InkScan’s Share to SMART Board option allows you to send a scanned document or note to a compatible SMART Board® and continue working on it there.

When capturing an image in InkScan:

• Choose the Whiteboard or Note template to convert text and lines to digital ink that you can manipulate on your phone or at a SMART Board.
• Choose the Document or Receipt template to get a static image that you can write on top of.

Note
Share to SMART Board works with interactive displays that are equipped with iQ software. Compatible models include the SMART Board 6000, 7000, MX100, and MX200 series displays.
Tip
When you send a document to a SMART Board, the file is also available online through your SMART account at suite.smarttech.com.

Choose a procedure

• Sending a scan for the first time? Use Connecting for the first time.
• InkScan recognizes the display? Use Scanning to a display that you’ve connected to before.
• Have multiple displays and need to switch between them? Use Switching between displays

Connecting for the first time

To pair your device with the display and then send your scan

1. 1.  **In the InkScan app, open your scan, tap Export , and then select Share to SMART Board.**

2. A confirmation dialog appears

3. Tap Continue.
   Note If you aren’t signed in to your SMART account on your device, you’re led through the sign-in process before the next step.
   The option to connect with a code appears in the InkScan app.

4. Tap Add a New Board.
   A dialog appears with instructions for pairing with the display.

5. Generate a pairing code at the display:

6. Open the iQ app launcher by tapping the Home button at the bottom of the display screen.

7. Tap the Player icon .

8. Tap the Share button .

9. A four-digit code appears on the display screen. 5.

10. In InkScan, enter the four-digit code you just generated and tap Connect.
    On the display, a confirmation appears, indicating that pairing was successful
    In InkScan, the sharing options appear with your board identified:

11. Select Share to SMART Board.
    InkScan loads and then displays this message:

12. Tap OK.

13. At the display, navigate back to the Player Library .

14. Your scan appears as the first thumbnail in the list of lesson files.

15. Tap the thumbnail to open your scan and begin editing it at the display.

Scanning to a display that you’ve connected to before

To send your scan to a display that your device recognizes

1. In the InkScan app, open your scan, tap Export , and then select Share to SMART Board.
   The sharing options appear with your board already identified:

2. Select Share to SMART Board.
   InkScan loads and then displays this message:

3. Tap OK.

4. At the display, tap the Home button and open the Player app .
   Your scan appears as the first thumbnail in the Player Library .

5. Tap the thumbnail to open your scan and begin editing it at the display.

Switching displays

To connect your device with a different display and then send your scan

1. In the InkScan app, open your scan, tap Export , and then select Share to SMART Board.
   The sharing options appear with the last board that you connected to identified:

2. Choose Switch SMART Boards.
   InkScan gives you the option to select a display that you have paired with before or to pair with a new display by generating a code from it.

3. To connect to a display that your board already recognizes
   Select a display from the RECENT SMART BOARDS list.

4. To connect to a new display
   Choose Add a New Board and pair your device with the new display (see steps 3-6 in Connecting for the first time).
   The sharing options appear again. The board you selected (or paired with) is now identified:

5. Tap Share to SMART Board.
   InkScan loads and then displays this message

6. Tap OK.

7. At the display, navigate to the Player Library (you may need to tap the Home button and open the Player app ).
   Your scan appears as the first thumbnail in the list of lesson files.

8. Tap the thumbnail to open your scan and begin editing it at the display.
