Introduction

Thank you for purchasing a Sunfire Dynamic Series Subwoofer. We hope you enjoy it and the music it makes as much as we have enjoyed creating it for you.

The big features of the subwoofer are its high-efficiency Class D digital amplifier, and its computer-optimized woofer and passive radiator design. And, the Sunfire Dynamic Series’ extended frequency response means that your subwoofer is the perfect match to virtually any loudspeaker. The result is extraordinarily high operating efficiency – that is, more acoustic output for each watt of input.

Unpacking

Your Sunfire subwoofer should reach you in perfect condition. If you do notice any ship ping dam age, please contact your Sunfire Dealer immediately.

Gently lift out the unit and remove all the packing material. It is important to save all the packing materials and the box in case your subwoofer ever needs to be moved or shipped for repair.

Make sure that you keep your sales receipt. It is the only way to establish the duration of your Limited Warranty and it may come in useful for insurance purposes.

Please take a moment to read the serial number located on the control panel and record it here:

Warranty

Sunfire, a division of Elan Home Systems, LLC, is proud of its products which have been built with care using advanced technology and premium component parts. Your unit has been crafted to perform properly for many years. The warranty details for your product are shown on the sunfire website.

Location

Your SDS Subwoofer is designed to be placed in a corner for optimum performance.

Experiment with at least two corners and decide which sounds the best.

Although low frequencies are non-direction al, room reflections, standing waves, resonance and absorption strongly affect the performance. Moving the subwoofer from one corner to another can have a major effect on the bass response.

Keep it at least two or three feet away from any CRT screen, computer, VCR or magnetic tapes and discs. This will reduce the chance of the magnetic fields upsetting the CRT screen or erasing your magnetic media.

Also position the control panel so that it is not touching anything and can receive good ventilation.

Using Two Subwoofers

With two subwoofers, the sound output will double. Place each subwoofer in a corner, and experiment with the location and phase control to achieve the best bass response.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What are the measurements? Where are the front and bottom points where the woofer(s) radiate?

The SDS12 is 16.65″ x 14.57″ x 15.52″ in size. The sound emanates from the front of the subwoofer because it is a front firing subwoofer.

Does this subwoofer have power?

The sub is self-sustaining. This subwoofer sounds incredible.

Does this subwoofer feature dual drivers and Wi-Fi?

The subwoofer lacks internal wireless connectivity despite having two drivers. This subwoofer sounds incredible.

Is this a sealed or ported box?

Sealed. On the bottom, it has a passive radiator.

What size subwoofer is best for bass?

An 8 “Bass from the subwoofer will be crisp and clear. Generally speaking, an 8 subwoofer will provide you superb, affordable, clear bass. Some 8-inch subwoofers sound fairly good, and some people could even compare them to budget 10″ or 12” models.

What size subs sound the best?

Because they are inexpensive and provide passable sound quality, 10-inch and 12-inch models are the ideal subwoofers for the majority of people. 15 “If you prefer to listen to music louder, subwoofers are the finest alternative because they will provide you the best overall performance.

Does Carver still make audio equipment?

The cutting-edge, effective products that made Bob Carver famous will still be available.

What engine does a Sunfire have?

All Sunfire models created after 2002 are powered by a 2.2 L Ecotec engine with 140 HP. Despite lacking the creature amenities of more modern cars, the Sunfire features the necessities, such as air conditioning and remote trunk release in some later trims.

How do I make my subwoofer sound deeper?

For the optimum sound, your subwoofer should be placed within 8–12 inches of a wall, looking outward into the rest of the room. For even more output, situate your subwoofer in the room’s corner, which can significantly enhance the sound quality as a whole.

Should Subs be louder than bass?

Subbass should peak at -12 dB if you want to have enough headroom for the rest of the song. If mixing with headroom isn’t working for you, try keeping the subbass 2 to 5 dB below the kick drum.

What level should my bass be?

Try to keep your monitor volume between 73 and 76 dB for the optimal low-end setting. We respond differently to frequencies at different loudness levels. Bass is more audible when it’s louder and less audible when it’s quieter.

What range should sub bass be?

This range produces powerful deep bass, which is often felt rather than heard. Many instruments are unable to reach this frequency range, with the exception of a few bass-heavy instruments like the bass guitar, which has the lowest attainable pitch of 41 Hz.

Do subwoofers only produce bass?

An audio loudspeaker called a subwoofer (or sub) is made to reproduce low- pitched audio frequencies called bass and sub-bass that are lower in frequency than those that can be (optimally) produced by a woofer.

What does a good subwoofer sound like?

The lower frequency limit of human hearing is 20Hz or lower, which is what a decent subwoofer will achieve. This creates a far more immersive experience because you never miss a note and can even feel the lowest notes from instruments like a pipe organ, kick drum, bass guitar, or the occasional cannon fire from the 1812 Overture.
