Our brand- new DS Series features the smallest cabinet of any device in its class and offers up to 600 Watts of dependable, cool-running Sunfire bass. And while power is nothing without excellent fidelity, all DS Series subwoofers have Sunfire’s exclusive FFD technology, which no other subwoofer can match. Instead of watching or listening to movies or music like those other manufacturers, FFD offers minimal distortion, high output performance.

Introduction

Thank you for purchasing a Sunfire Dynamic Series Subwoofer. We hope you enjoy it and the music it makes as much as we have enjoyed creating it for you.

The big features of the subwoofer are its high-efficiency Class D digital amplifier, and its computer-optimized woofer and passive radiator design. And, the Sunfire Dynamic Series’ extended frequency response means that your subwoofer is the perfect match to virtually any loudspeaker. The result is extraordinarily high operating efficiency – that is, more acoustic output for each watt of input.

Unpacking

Your Sunfire subwoofer should reach you in perfect condition. If you do notice any ship ping dam age, please contact your Sunfire Dealer immediately.

Warranty

Sunfire, a division of Elan Home Systems, LLC, is proud of its products which have been built with care using advanced technology and premium component parts. Your unit has been crafted to perform properly for many years. The warranty details for your product are shown on the sunfire website.

Location

Your SDS Subwoofer is designed to be placed in a corner for optimum performance.

Experiment with at least two corners and decide which sounds the best.

Although low frequencies are non-direction al, room reflections, standing waves, resonance and absorption strongly affect the performance. Moving the subwoofer from one corner to another can have a major effect on the bass response.

Keep it at least two or three feet away from any CRT screen, computer, VCR or magnetic tapes and discs. This will reduce the chance of the magnetic fields upsetting the CRT screen or erasing your magnetic media.

Also position the control panel so that it is not touching anything and can receive good ventilation.

Using Two Subwoofers

With two subwoofers, the sound output will double. Place each subwoofer in a corner, and experiment with the location and phase control to achieve the best bass response.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Which RCA jack a single or dual RCA jack is this?****

Although it has two RCA ports, only one jack cable has to be used.

What are its dimensions?****

The following are the measurements:
Dimensions (W x H x D) (W x H x D) includes feet and the grill 349 x 298 x 316 mm or 13.75 x 11.75 x 12.44″, Weight: 9.1 kg or 20 lb.

Can this subwoofer be powered by 240 volts?****

No, it can’t be powered by 240 V.

Does this subwoofer require a strong amplifier to be driven?****

No, the subwoofer comes with an amp built in. It is self-powered.

Is it 110 or 220 V?****

It is 110V.

What is subwoofer system?****

A subwoofer (sometimes spelled sub) is a speaker that is specifically designed to reproduce the bass, which are low-pitched audio frequencies. Passive Sub: Passive subs are so-called because an external amplifier or Audio/Video (A/V) receiver is required to power them. Similar to conventional speakers, this.

What is a subwoofer used for?****

Since standard two-channel or surround sound setups can’t produce lower frequencies between 20 and 200 Hz on their own, a subwoofer is an essential part of a full audio system.

Is subwoofer only for bass?****

An audio loudspeaker called a subwoofer (or sub) is made to reproduce low- pitched audio frequencies called bass and sub-bass that are lower in frequency than those that can be (optimally) produced by a woofer.

What are the two types of subwoofer?****

Passive and active subwoofers differ in that an active subwoofer has an internal amplifier while a passive subwoofer relies on an external amplifier.

Does a subwoofer improve sound?****

Your system as a whole will benefit from a great subwoofer by relieving your loudspeakers of some of the burden. The soundstage widens, the dynamics are more engaging, and the stereo imaging improves.

Do you need speakers with a subwoofer?****

Subwoofers do enhance sound quality, however the parts can occasionally have a few problems. A subwoofer cannot be used by itself. It only works when a speaker is connected.

What makes a subwoofer more powerful?****

The subwoofer in question’s wattage determines its power; a higher wattage indicates a more potent subwoofer.

Is a 2 or 4 ohm sub better?****

It follows that 2 ohm subwoofers are louder than 4 ohm ones because a subwoofer with a lower electrical resistance creates a louder sound than one with a higher electrical resistance.
