SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  •  Read all the instructions carefully before use.
  •  Place the product on a hard smooth surface, not on a cloth or other soft surface.
  •  Always put the product on a stable surface with the handles turned to avoid spilling hot oil when in use.
  •  Do not put the product on or near a hot stove or in a hot oven.
  •  Do not touch hot parts. Use the handles and knobs.
  •  After deep-frying, lift up the basket and wait for a few seconds for the steam pressure to drop.
  •  Never immerse the power cord, plug or product in water or any other liquid -risk of electric shock.
  •  Keep the product under careful supervision when it is used by, or near children.
  •  Pull out the plug before cleaning and when the product is not in use.
  • Allow the product to cool before cleaning or removing parts.
  •  Do not use the product if it is damaged or not working properly, or if the power cord or plug are damaged. Take the product to an authorised service centre to be checked I repaired or adjusted.
  •  Do not allow the power cord to hang over the edge of a table or worktop, or to come into contact with hot surfaces.
  •  Do not use any accessories other than those recommended by the product manufacturer- risk of personal injury.
  •  Do not use the product without the oil container, without oil, or with too little oil.
  • Handle the product carefully when there is hot oil in it.
  •  Check that the handle is correctly fitted and locked on the basket. See instructions.
  •  Check before use that the oil container is correctly inserted.
  •  Never plug in the plug if the oil container is not properly inserted.
  •  Never overfill the oil container with oil. The level of the oil must be between the Min and Max markings on the inside of the container.
  •  Never put wet food or food containing ice into hot oil.
  •  Do not allow children to use the product. This product can be used by children from 8 years and upwards and by persons with physical, sensorial or mental disabilities, or persons who lack experience or knowledge, if they are supervised or receive instructions concerning the safe use of the product and understand the risks involved with its use. Do not allow children to play with the product. Do not allow children to clean or maintain the product without supervision.
  •  The product is not intended to be controlled by an external timer or a separate remote control.
  •  The detachable oil container can be immersed in water to clean it, but must be carefully dried before being used again, otherwise there is risk of electric shock.
  •  Never use the product for anything other than the purpose it was designed for.
  •  Do not use the product outdoors.
  •  Store the product indoors and protected from moisture, otherwise there is a risk of material damage.
  •  The product is intended for kitchen and household use, for exam p I e in :
    •  Staff kitchens in shops, offices and other similar workplaces.
    •  Manor houses, agricultural buildings and private homes.
    •  Hotel or motel rooms and other similar accommodation.
    •  Youth hostels.

FUNCTION

The temperature dial starts the deep-fryer and sets the required temperature.
Power light
The power light goes on when the deep-fryer is switched on.

Status light
The status light goes off during the frying. This indicates that the set temperature is maintained thermostatically.

Overheating protection with reset
The deep-fryer has overheating protection. If the deep-fryer should for some reason overheat it will switch off automatically to prevent damage. The overheating protection can be reset, after which the deep-fryer can be used again.

INSTALLATION

  1. Put the oil container in place in the casing.
  2.  Align the guides on the control panel to the rails on the metal casing.
  3. push down the guides as far as possible.
  4. Fasten the handle on the deep-fryer basket by pressing the parts of the handle together and inserting them in the metal fastener on the basket. Check that the ends of the handle go into the holes in the fastener. Lift up the handle to lock in place. he deep-fryer has a safety switch to prevent it from starting if the control panel is not correctly fitted on the rails on the casing.

USE

  1.  Remove all the packaging material and any stickers from the product.
  2.  Clean the deep-fryer before using for the first time. The casing, oil container, deep­fryer basket, basket handle, permanent filter and the lid can be washed with hot water and washing-up liquid. Wipe thoroughly dry before use.

WARNING!
Do not immerse the control panel, the power cord or plug, in water or any other liquid – risk of electric shock.

Filling the oil container
Fill up with oil to between the Min and Max markings on the inside of the container. Do not use the deep-fryer with too little, or too much oil in the container. The level of the oil must be between the minimum (2.2 litres) and maximum (3 litres) markings on the inside of the container.

IMPORTANT:
Different types of vegetable oil can be used. Do NOT use olive oil, margarine, butter, tallow, lard, or the equivalent. Never mix different types of oil or fat, and never mix old oil and new oil.

Using solid fat

  1.  Solid vegetable fat must be melted in a separate container and carefully poured into the oil container.
  2.  Previously used solid vegetable fat that has hardened in the oil container must be removed from the container and melted in a separate container before being used again.
  3.  Do not put solid fat in the oil container or the deep-fryer basket.
  4.  Never attempt to melt hardened solid fat in the oil container, this can cause melted fat to splash up through the hard surface.
  5.  Allow the fat to reach room temperature. If the fat is cold there is a greater risk of splashing.
  6.  Make a few holes in the fat with a fork.
  7.  Make sure the lid is properly closed while the fat is melting.
  8.  Set the temperature to 170°C.

Preheating

  1.  Check that the level of the oil is between the Min and Max markings on the inside of the container.
  2.  Put the lid on.
  3.  Plug in the plug. The power light goes on.
  4.  Turn the temperature control to the required temperature.
  5.  The status light goes on when the set temperature is reached.

WARNING!

  •  Never plug in the plug if the deep-fryer is not properly assembled and the heating element is not covered with oil.
  •  Never attempt to boil water in the deep-fryer.
  •  Switch off the deep-fryer and pull out the plug when the deep-fryer is not in use.

Overheating protection
The appliance is fitted with overheating protection. If the product does not get hot this could be because the overheating protection has tripped.

Resetting the overheating protection

  1.  Pull out the plug.
  2. Allow the product and the oil to cool.
  3.  When the oil has completely cooled, lift up the control panel and use a pen or equivalent to press the button to reset the thermostat, on the inside of the control panel.
  4.  Replace the control panel on the product casing and continue deep-frying.

Filling and using the deep-fryer basket

  1.  Put the food in the deep-fryer basket. Do not overfill the deep-fryer basket to more than 2/3rds of the depth of the basket. Deep-fry small portions for optimum results and shorter cooking times.
  2.  Lower the deep-fryer basket slowly into the container to avoid splashing. Do not put food into hot deep-frying oil.
  3.  Put on the lid and leave it in place during the deep-frying.
  4.  Lift the lid carefully a little, to release the steam, before removing the lid when the deep-frying is ready. Keep your face and hands out of the way when opening the lid, otherwise, there is a risk of scalding from the hot oil.
  5.  Turn the temperature dial to MIN and unplug the plug from the powerpoint.
  6.  Lift up the deep-fryer basket with the handle and put it on the hook so that the oil runs out.

NOTE:

  •  Always use the deep-fryer basket.
  •  Always keep the lid of when deep-frying.
  •  Lower the deep-fryer basket slowly into the hot oil. If the deep-fryer basket is lowered too quickly into the oil there is a risk of splashing or the oil overflowing.
  •  Put the lid on carefully.
  •  Steam is forced out under the edges of the lid during the deep-frying.
  •  Do not stand too near the deep-fryer when in use.
  •  Do not mix old and new oil.
  •  Change the oil the oil if it gets darker, if it foams when heated, or if it smells or tastes rancid, or if it becomes syrupy.
  •  Check that the food to be deep-fried is dry.
  •  Remove any loose ice from frozen food before deep-frying.
  •  The food should be divided into equal parts for best results.
  •  Large pieces take longer to cook.
  •  Never put food in the basket when it is in the oil.
  •  When deep-frying frozen food, remove the basket from the deep-fryer before filling. Residual ice can cause splashing, or make the oil overflow when the food is put into
  • The oil – risk of splashing oil and burn injuries.
  •  The metal parts on the deep-fryer get hot when in use. Do not touch the sides of the deep-fryer when in use.
  •  Pull out the plug and allow the deep-fryer to cool (about two hours) before cleaning and/or putting away. Do not move or carry the deep-fryer with hot oil in the container.

MAINTENANCE

Clean the deep-fryer every time it has been used for best functionality and life span.

  • Do not put the control panel, the power cord or plug, in a dishwasher.
  • Clean the control panel with a damp cloth.
  • The oil container and deep-fryer basket are dishwasher-safe.

WARNING!

  •  Pull out the plug and allow the deep-fryer to cool (about two hours) before cleaning.
  •  Do not immerse the control panel, the power cord or plug, in water or any other liquid – risk of electric shock.
