WARNING

  • Plug heaters directly into a 120v wall outlet/receptacle only. Never use with an extension cord. Do not plug heater into any other cord connected device, such as a power strip, surge protector, multiple outlet adapter, cord reel or outlet-type air freshener. The use of such devices may create a fire hazard. Do not plug multiple devices in the same outlet or on same circuit as heater.
  • Faulty wall outlet connections may cause the wall outlet to overheat. Be sure that heater plug fits tightly into outlet before each use. During use, check to make certain the heater plug is not overheating. If necessary have a qualified electrician check and/or replace the wall outlet. Do not use this heater with any solid state speed control devices.
  • Make certain that the power source conforms to the electrical requirements of the Heater.
  • Extreme caution is necessary when any Heater is used by or near children or invalids. The Heater should not be left operating unattended. Never leave children unattended when the heater is on or plugged in.
  • This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
  • DO NOT use the Heater in areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable liquids are used or stored. DO NOT use Heater in locations where flammable or explosive chemicals are stored, or in wet atmospheres.
  • Do not operate any Heater with a damaged cord or plug or after the Heater malfunctions, or has been dropped or damaged in any manner. To disconnect Heater, turn the Heater OFF then remove the plug from the outlet.
  • Always unplug Heater when not in use. Unplug power cord before servicing or moving the Heater.
  • Do not insert or allow fingers or foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as it may cause an electric shock, fire, or damage the Heater. Do not block or tamper with the Heater in any manner while it is in operation.
  • Do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner. Do not place on soft surfaces, like a bed, where openings may become blocked. Do not depend on the on/off switch as the sole means of disconnecting power when servicing or moving the heater. Always unplug the power cord.

CAUTION

the Heater or other objects are not resting on it. DO NOT run Power Cord under carpeting. DO NOT cover Power Cord with throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings as this may cause cord to overheat. Arrange Power Cord away from room traffic and where it will not be tripped over.

FAQs

does it have a timer?****

No it does not have a timer.

Wrong price amount listed?****

I paid $28.74. The price may be different now but that’s what I paid for both of ours. It’s still on my Amazon account record.

Do you consider this heater safe from overheating?****

I’ve used it for many hours straight. I wouldn’t leave it on and go somewhere else or use it when it’s not upright, but I have no concerns about it sitting on the ground functioning properly for several hours. It’s a winter lifesaver, honestly. And the fan is decent on its own in hotter months.

Is this dual voltage?****

If by dual voltage you mean 240 volts then the answer is no it can only work off of 120 volts. If you need it to work off of 240 volts you would have to purchase a step up converter to make it work.

How long would this take, to take the chill off a bathroom that is 8 x 10 with 8′ ceiling that is about 58 degrees?****

I would say about 5-10 minutes.

do this fan oscillate?****

No.

Is energy saver?****

The EPA does not currently label space heaters or fans as ENERGY STAR- qualified products. Below is a link to this mention on their website. However, when used as designed, a space heater can lower your use of heating sources such as propane and oil by reducing the need to increase your whole house temperature to warm up one specific space.

What happens when it hits thermostat set point? Does fan stop or just heater element stop adding heat?****

The unit, once reaching the desired setting will cycle on and off to maintain that comfort level. Here is a video that explain this a bit more in-depth. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b31HU- LYQOY&feature=youtu.be

Does this heater allow the use of batteries?****

No batteries just electric.

Can you run the heater without running the fan?****

yes. There’s three settings on the first knob 1, 2, and a fan so I believe the fan does not run when the heat is on

bathroom use?****

Yes you can use it anywhere.

does it have a timer?****

It does NOT have a timer.

The manual says there is a vacuum of some sort to clean the heater. This was not included in my package. Is it a separate item?****

The vacuum reference is the form of cleaning we recommend. Lasko advises to use a vacuum with the brush attachment to clean the outside of the unit. Lasko does not include the vacuum to clean the heater.

Will this continue running if I unplug it and plug it back in again? I want to plug this into a smart plug.****

Our space heaters are recommended they be plugged directly into a 120 wall outlet. If you power off and unplug the heater, it must be manually turned back on when plugged back in. We do not recommend unplugging the space heater without powering it off first.

which of the 5 heaters shown has 16,419 reviews? What good are the reviews?****

I really like this portable beater. I wanted a 2nd one so I got the same one!
